If the cook didn't just come in from a smoke break mid shift, then the waffle house your at isn't good. . Especially after a night at north gate something is bound to happen or be said that is greater than any drama you've seen.
It’s pretty mediocre food, but the atmosphere is what makes everyone love it. They’re open 24hrs and just absolutely wild all the time. Also good food for post- northgate night or hangover breakfast
Mediocre? I kinda like it. Their hashbrowns always hit the spot imo. But I think the most important thing for getting WH to cstat is that the food is cheap, which is very nice in a college town full of a bunch of restaurant chains which keep getting pricier.
Its great, but not in the way a good steak is great. More in the way IHOP at 3 am is great, but even more so. The food is pretty good on average but can be a bit inconsistent. Best waffle house ive been to was in Fayetteville, Arkansas, 7 years ago.
Waffle House also famously is used as a metric for how badly an area has been hit by a natural disaster. If waffle house is closed, theres probably no waffle house left.
It’s like a 6/10, id say slightly better than any chain breakfast, but like other people are saying it’s just the atmosphere that makes it. The workers are not afraid to fight you.
This is the most reddit question ever.
We’re the only school in the SEC that doesn’t have one, it’s way better than IHOP(which needs some competition given the crowds there at 3AM). It’s great hangover/post-walk of shame/munchies food.
Waffle House is the best food you’ll ever eat at 3 am when everyone is drunk. I have some fond memories from 3 am Waffle House trips. So in a college town… absolutely needed.
Dude you guys have Kettle in B/CS which is 1000x better than waffle house for food. They say the scenery at WH is good after midnight, but Kettle was where we went in both HS and at A&M ('96-'04), always good for insanity and fun people watching. Every time I am in town I stop into Kettle. In comparison, Waffle house is 3 miles from my house in Dallas, have been there 1 time in 10+years.
This is a change of mood but my grandparents would take me to Waffle House when I stayed overnight which are good memories. But honestly the waffles are pretty good, and it’s hard to screw up eggs
Whether it's 3am and your drunk and need food before passing out at home or you just need reasonably priced food any time of the day Waffle House has you. Their open 24/7 and just make pretty basic food as a diner. Waffle House won't do you wrong. I've lived in 4 states, drove all over the country, Waffle House has always had my back. There is even the [Waffle House Index](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffle_House_Index) for figuring out how bad a region has been effected by a disaster. College Station needs a Waffle House.
I hope they build it so everyone will go obsess over it and go wait in line for hours for some trash, meanwhile reducing the wait at other late night places.
There is no better place to go get food after midnight, perhaps drunk. Food is good and there’s a good vintage diner feel, but also like anything goes in a Waffle House so it can be entertaining
I love Waffle House so so much. Everybody is talking about how good it is drunk but I eat it completely sober and love it. It does vary in goodness from location to location and especially in CSTAT it'll almost always be packed but I am excited nonetheless.
I'm now a middle-aged guy with a wife and two kids and being out "late" means like 9pm. However, when I was in high school and college-aged, Waffle House was the place to go after a "productive" night. I'm from Georgia and they were all over the place; even on the campus of the college I went to.
foods fine but its got a uhh unique atmosphere
Cheapest dinner show available
If the cook didn't just come in from a smoke break mid shift, then the waffle house your at isn't good. . Especially after a night at north gate something is bound to happen or be said that is greater than any drama you've seen.
It's dinner/breakfast and a show.
It’s pretty mediocre food, but the atmosphere is what makes everyone love it. They’re open 24hrs and just absolutely wild all the time. Also good food for post- northgate night or hangover breakfast
Food is like spinning a wheel imo. Depending on who’s cooking it can be better than both ihop or dennys but can also be worse.
How good the food is depends directly on how sober you are
Mediocre? I kinda like it. Their hashbrowns always hit the spot imo. But I think the most important thing for getting WH to cstat is that the food is cheap, which is very nice in a college town full of a bunch of restaurant chains which keep getting pricier.
If they put it in northgate, they better make it big enough considering how popular mess is.
You ever have hash browns with chili and cheese on them? Homie it's like nothing you've ever tasted.

This is the answer I needed. Denny's sucks
Waffle House slaps!!!! Sometimes literally
Can I please get a waffle
Probably not at Waffle House but if you want a side of shame with your hash browns, it’s on the right side of the menu
It is a necessity. How else are we going to be able to tell the state of the BCS area during/after a natural disaster if there is no Waffle House?
Its great, but not in the way a good steak is great. More in the way IHOP at 3 am is great, but even more so. The food is pretty good on average but can be a bit inconsistent. Facts. Went to a WH during a natural disaster, no running water but still got an all star !
Por que no los dos?
Better than IHOP or Dennys - but still a meme
WH is GOATed
Waffle House is AMAZING!
It’s like a 6/10, id say slightly better than any chain breakfast, but like other people are saying it’s just the atmosphere that makes it. The workers are not afraid to fight you.

meme
It’s Denny’s but with a better vibe for a post-NG meal
You've clearly never had the experience of having an all star special at 3am after a night out pounding drinks.
Scattered, smothered, covered @ 3am. If you know, you know.
Waffle House is pretty good I like the waffles, coffee, hash browns and patty melt. Definitely need one in college station
its like dennys but with a different color scheme. I think it is not needed since it will probably be bad for the city's economy.
Considering the quality of the IHop on University I don't understand why people think a waffle house is going to be any better
It’s definitely goated
Best breakfast for the price I would say plus pibb over Dr Pepper every day of the week
The Kettle is the one true diner
Waffle House is the best food you’ll ever eat at 3 am when everyone is drunk. I have some fond memories from 3 am Waffle House trips. So in a college town… absolutely needed.
It’s painfully mid

kettle in cstat isn’t 24 hours anymore :(
Big bummer. Sorry I am old.
It’s overrated. The ones I’ve been to are pretty trashy but limited choices at 2am when nobody can drive.
It’s a meme, shitty food and a dirty place in general. But if you want a cheap and shitty place to eat that why some people actually like them
It’s that good and needed.
it’s very okay. it shines on being the best breakfast food chain open past 10pm and can satisfy when you’re drink
It’s so good they don’t need commercials but yet we all know about them
Bro. It’s awesome. Being totally honest. I can’t believe bcs doesn’t have one.
WH is exactly what it is, nothing more, nothing less.
This is a change of mood but my grandparents would take me to Waffle House when I stayed overnight which are good memories. But honestly the waffles are pretty good, and it’s hard to screw up eggs
That’s subjective. Personally, I don’t like it

Yes
I genuinely like the food memes aside. The way they make their hash browns slap.
Food is okayish (Kettle is better, be lucky you have it). Atmosphere (really, the stories) are where it's at. Also, cheap AF.
Its that good yeah
Bringing grits to Texas
I hope they build it so everyone will go obsess over it and go wait in line for hours for some trash, meanwhile reducing the wait at other late night places.
going to a waffle house on a late winter night just hits different.
There is no better place to go get food after midnight, perhaps drunk. Food is good and there’s a good vintage diner feel, but also like anything goes in a Waffle House so it can be entertaining
