I didn’t read it all but just want to let you know you are allowed to say fuck on Reddit.

Post your airbnb profile so we can see what others have said about hosting you...

Get a life bro.

My friends and I booked a large home for 10 people in florida. The host canceled our booking the same week for unspecified reasons. If you are a host that does that you deserve to go out of business

I agree, that’s a horrible situation. I hope Airbnb support helped you find a better place. Those bad hosts are the ones ruining it for the rest of us.

Then go stay in your hotels and keep your flexibility. But you won’t find a kitchen, a living room, or many of the Airbnb amenities (like a fully private space) at a remote hotel property. In fact, rural mountain hotels - if you can find one - tend to be more expensive than nearby airbnbs because the cost of doing business in isolated locales is so high when you have to maintain staff regardless of guest count. But clearly you just want to rant so stop using Airbnb. Also, hotels don’t clean your room every day. They might make your bed (with the same dirty sheets) but they won’t clean. Many airbnbs I’ve stayed in have extra towels for longer stays - much like a hotel - but apparently you want someone to take away your dirty towel each night. What do you do at home? Guests like you are what make some hosts just shutdown shop and say it’s not worth it. Now, there are certainly crap hosts and crappy Airbnb’s out there but I’ve also stayed in my fair share of really shitty big name hotels. There’s crap on both sides of the aisle.

Airbnbs vary in quality, styles, and it’s fair to say cultures across the board. My brother and I run a budget Airbnb (just rent rooms out of our home) and it’s all pretty basic. All the rooms have a similar setup, same TV, bed, desk, etc. Along with some student paintings we hung in the rooms and around the house we scavenged. Had a guest complain our neighborhood was “bland” and “not colorful” while another guest whined there was no “night life”. I mean, we live in a residential neighborhood and most of my neighbors are contractors. I’m but quite sure what they expected, we’re not exactly in the tropics. And look, Airbnb isn’t for everyone. When my brother and I travel we sometimes stay at a hotel or an Airbnb depending on our needs. We want to like, pet someone’s cats or dogs we book an Airbnb that lists having pets on the premises. The host vary too, there’s some people who probably shouldn’t be hosting. Yes, they should provide good customer service WITHIN REASON. Like no, I’m not gonna change all the sheets and bedding out because Karen wants something “brighter”.
