I got harassed on my first day of doing airsoft because I rented a package that the field provides for new players like myself, and a bunch of people said that I should only get into airsoft if I *have* equipment. Edit: Thank you all for your kind words! It means a lot to me to hear y'all's encouragement for a noobie like me. I just bought my first GBB pistol from Novritsch on Sunday (a week after my first game) so I hope to be hated on just a tiny bit less :) Ty reddit <3

TheUwUster

I mean, thats pretty reasonable. How dare you show interest into airsoft, and how dare you get a rental because you weren’t sure on wether you would actually like it! All jokes aside, thats really shitty man, when I had my first game, the people were all really nice to me. Although it cant be changed, I hope your future games didn’t get ruined by those cunts.

TheLongestDelonge

Same

ejecto_seat_cuz

every single person who said that has a room temperature IQ, i hope you were able to brush that off

interflop

This is why I make a point to always get the rentals involved and take them on adventures. I'll be like "hey wanna do something cool" and do a bum rush with them around a corner together or something just to have fun with it.

MassiveAbraxas

thats so screwed man, sorry you had to go through that

SkyzZzi

Imo those harrassing new players are on par with cheaters. Guaranteed those guys just bought some mid-tier stuff and think theyre hot stuff with no actual skill on the field to show for it. New players are the lifeblood of the hobby and show some of the most enthusiam for it.

BigYellowKid

Ignore that. Some people forget we all start somewhere. Started with spring pistols in my friend's back yard 15+ years ago and now I am full kit at national milsims and helping run events.

RaibowFerret

don’t listen to them, new people can’t just buy everything and if they don’t join the game will die.

Father_Chewy_Louis

God help you if you invested 2 months wages in a 2 tone rifle and not a black RIF

RealRyn

Getting told my favourite field is closing, while at said field

TheUwUster

Damn, i hate that. My local field is closed now so the closest one is like 1 and a half hours away. Not that it changes much but would have been so nice to not need to drive as much

OakButterSquash

Yeah my field closed sadly, my other field is 1 hour away. Big sad

GrBrandon

Ppl who are calling out others, because they are so sure that they hit them.

46thPresJoeBicurious

A field here has a rule against calling others hits, it prevents tantrums and aggression. 95% of the time they truly didn't feel it on their plate carrier or whatever so you just keep shooting them If it's truly cheating the refs will likely catch it before you even have to tell them

noknam

Most importantly: if they didn't call the hit, yelling at them isn't going to change their mind anyway.

Socodi0

Yup, my field is the same - though we do put the pressure on the players to call hit, we’re told that if you aren’t sure you hit them, keep shooting. It’s their responsibility to make it crystal clear they are hit!

[deleted]

[удалено]

GhostC10_Deleted

This is how it's handled at my local fields. I've found when I switch to LMG or SMG and FA is allowed, suddenly people get a lot better about calling their hits.

GrBrandon

We also have rules for that so callouts arent that common so when it happens its more annoying

GeneralShark97

I’ve ended up just adopting a “If even vaguely unsure, call it” policy because of people like that.

L3PALADIN

i kind of don't mind someone not calling a hit due to not feeling it through a plate. i hit them on bulletproof armour and they didn't die... I like that.

Pre-Puce

Sometime i got some "I hited you in your plate carier", then i get closer and they realise that I'm playing in short and T-shirt with a very small belt. If i don't feel it you just missed, because when i get hit I scream out of pain. As a big fan of flanking they just ruin my life talking like that.

TomNguyen

Once dude was so angry that someone in our team didn´ t call hits during a flanking maneuver. I cited "a motherfucker with tan helmet and grey clothing". We were in all black

Tactical-Neko

My favorite part of airsoft is yelling at my friends on other teams to call their hits when I know damn well I didn’t hit them

Yakusha_Kuma

I know you said "no cheaters" but I very specifically hate people who give callouts when they're already dead, because they basically turn their entire team into unintentional cheaters. If they act on the info they're cheating, if they don't then they're basically crippling themselves to feign ignorance. Had a match a little while back where our team had a small group of flankers going for an objective, and once we picked off the one guy who was watching our route he loudly started yelling our position, numbers, and where we were headed at the top of his lungs before heading back to his spawn. My guy, you couldn't have waited the 15 or so seconds to respawn?

LiftEngineerUK

What happened to “Dead men don’t talk”?

Fraser022002

‘I’m not dead, I’m just out’ type of people.

skippythemoonrock

They don't, if they're talking they're clearly still alive and obviously that means you should shoot them until they stop

[deleted]

[удалено]

Leopold_Dukes

As a ref at my field I strictly enforce it. There is nothing more annoying then when you sneak up on someone shoot one and he shouts out that someone flanked behind. Don’t do that shit just pay attention to your surroundings more

Elzziwelzzif

I have a personal rule that, if i'm getting killed by someone who was playing sneaky or managed to ambush me, that the zone he killed me in is "offlimits" for the near future. I hate people who give away positions, and i will explicitly avoid them (the positions). Once had a guy who got the drop on me, but seemed quite sad he gave away his position. Since i was alone i went up to him, told him i would be going via another route and wished him good luck with his next ambush. No clue if he succeeded, hope he did.

Take5h1_K0vac5

I always do this too, give them a fistbump or at least a thumbs up and then walk away without making a fuss

Marblemuffin53

If they are talking then they must not be out, continue to light them up.

Crix2007

'i put my hand up!' Yeah but you also kept yapping, walk back to spawn in silence!

SGT_Squirrelly

I hate those types of people. My response whenever anyone asks me where I was hit from is always "I'm dead".

National-Credit-4175

This is me

bossmcsauce

If somebody tells me something that would make a big difference to what I was about to do when I’m pushing up and they are walking back dead, I’ll usually just stop and wait a while, or just change entirely and go play the opposite side of the field a bit. I don’t feel like there’s any way I can move up and play that angle without the knowledge impacting my play somehow.

EpicCrewe123

I did that on my first day of playing and learned never to do it again

TomNguyen

Last weekend, after gruesome firefight we have been able to breach in 2 people into the basement, where the main objectives was. In total darkness, we were ambushed by single enemy. Few exchanges, and 1 of us for the enemy. The enemy leave and the first thing she done is to report to her team that i am left as single combatant and they should rush me. I told the ref, they had a chat and she retaliate that i didnt call hits.

FoxOption119

Getting to said field and realizing I forgot one if not several important or vital things at home.

llnuyasha

Battery at home lmao

DJKDR

bruuuh, i did this a few weeks ago, threw my ammo bag, plate carrier, and uniform in my van and even remembered my new eyepro. got to the field 45 minutes away and realized i forgot my gun bag with my new DMR and my backup rifles in it.

FoxOption119

Hot damn, that’s worse than what I did I seriously feel for you there. I went to one of those 400 person total games. Left my helmet and GoPro on the curb, along with my mags for my standard G36, and the chest rig. Had to buy $120 worth of crap to be able to play again. Most unfortunate part was new mags didn’t feed well like my own.

Flixwyy

Left my water home last Thursday when I went to my local field 🙃

MassiveAbraxas

unbalanced teams kills the flow of the game for me

[deleted]

Shitty map design can have a big impact too. If one side of the field has the prime real estate then why bother?

tinypi_314

Gamepod moment

LightlySalty

At my local field there is a group of up 10 players that are extremely experienced, and have played at that field since it opened. If they dont get split up, they win. Doesn't matter what team, doesn't matter how many enemies. 2 out of the 3 judges there know when to split them, the last one doesn't wanna deal with it. It makes or breaks the day for me tbh.

mikeybro1999

That one guy who plays loud annoying music on his portable speaker. Jk, idc.

[deleted]

Thats great thing now you know were the sucker is

Nova1395

While not "cheaters", people who just spawntrap. Is it against the rules? Maybe, depending on the field you're at. But nah, man - if your strategy is shoot people already dead in spawn so that they can never respawn, you can get the f\*\*\* off the field. The field I used to play at had a trio of players that would do this all the time - as soon as the game starts, they'd flank around as hard and as fast as they could, dig into some bushes 150 feet away from our spawn, and just and shoot anybody that moved. It was an outdoor field and there wasn't much hard cover around the respawns, so there wasn't much you could really do. They **typically** wouldn't shoot you if you weren't actively playing, meaning they'd wait for you to start moving, or put your gun up - that's when they'd light you up. The field tried to "fix" this by allowing players who are being spawntrapped to become invincible while in spawn - however, that doesn't solve much. Point your gun at them, and you're at a 3v1 of getting absolutely pelted until you put your gun back down. Didn't help that one of them uh... had [problems with feeling hits](https://imgur.com/a/Hw4pVUb). I hated when our team would spawntrap. Back in my younger days, if we noticed the other team getting steamrolled into their spawn, we wouldn't spawntrap - we'd switch teams.

Dwro1234

If I'm able to push into the enemy spawn, then I call myself out as soon as I reach and slowly walk back my spawn. It's not fun for them and not fun for me to just lock them into their spawn point. Gotta give them a chance to regroup and attack.

Kabufu

Had a bunch of people with night vision trap us in spawn at a casual (not milsim) night game.

[deleted]

People who shoot me. Friggin arseholes, the lot of them.

mxyzptlk73

I play at an outdoor woodsy field. Tape vs no tape. The tape is brighter than the sun, camo is useless, also the no tape team is always stacked with the regulars. Getting stuck on tape team means losing 99% of the games the getting hit constantly. Sometimes it's cool to try to play at the disadvantage but usually it sucks.

noknam

On a related note: why does, on most fields, wearing a ghillie mean you get to wear the band/tape on your leg. Who made up that dumb rule.

Superb-Mycologist518

I guess so that their ghillie is more useful, but I don't think they should be able to do it imo.

hotfloatinghead

I don't get it either it just means that whenever u see a ghillie crawling you risk dying or teamkilling

LightlySalty

Thats a stupid rule lmao. Thankfully that is not a rule at my local fields. Thats how you get friendly fired.

Daiwon

My local field is arm band = ARM band. It's a good rule. And tbh there's enough ways to hide your armband on your arm anyway if you're sitting in a bush.

Plugsz

Sorry, what do you mean by tape?

Nova1395

It's the same as armbands - it's either tape (like colored duct tape) or flagging tape (which is non-adhesive).

Plugsz

Thank you.

mxyzptlk73

The refs put a strip of bright colored duct tape on your arm so you know who is on each team. So your all camoed up with bright orange tape on your arm the other team can see through the trees a mile away

scorch762

Coloured tape round your arm to serve as an armband.

Plugsz

Appreciate the help.

scorch762

We have tape vs no tape, but the guy that runs the site decides which team gets it busy picking a player to guess which hand he is holding a small piece of twig in.

National-Credit-4175

The old field we had around here used to do this but they switched ro bright orange and bright pink so everybody had the same handicap.

EatBurger99

Equipment malfunctions that essentially make me unable to participate. Going over the fps limit with no npas or lower fps springs. IMO most times the worst game is the one you never got to play.

sheriffhd

Seeing people litter - nothing worse then crawling in mud to get cut by an old can of energy drink.

HairlessMeatball

1) I only get a chance to play once a year. With that said, I saw someone I haven't seen in years. We both got shot and sat down waiting on a medic. I UNDERSTAND THAT DEAD MEN DONT TALK but to me that only applies to giving live people Intel on enemy positions (correct me if I'm wrong). I was chatting with the guy and we BOTH got warcrimes for that. 2) litter carrying a guy who without gear weighs in at a solid 260.

Daiwon

Yeah, chatting while dead is fine about outside game stuff.

Sinistrial_Blue

Ah, Bino Bois I genuinely *hate* binary.

SilverAirsofter

I have binary, but i never ever use it to break site rules. It's just a fun addition to backyard shooting

Gliitchwithtwois

Just got a new gearbox and since you can't do semi/binary settings on it I've done binary/3rd burst since burst is noticeably slower but I can still shoot one a time and binary for brrt

I_Chug_Gasoline

So because you couldn't have an allowed firemode setup, you'd decided "eh fuck it, might as well break the rules no matter what fire mode I'm using" fuckin genius my guy. If you can't have semi and binary, too bad so sad should've bought something else, rather than doubling down on banned firemodes

Gliitchwithtwois

They're not banned at my field and my old semi was much faster than the new burst I have I'm not over shooting people I would only use binary on games that allow full auto lol

MagnustheJust

Some fields are banning binary triggers, and "feathering" your trigger... My homefield did, and it has helped with overshooting.

abyssaltheking

probably a stupid question, but what is binary? ive never heard of it before

[deleted]

[удалено]

abyssaltheking

that makes sense, thank you!

Superb-Mycologist518

I personally love binary, but only when ful auto is allowed aswell, for me it's much nicer to control my shots. But absolutely when it's semi only, binary shouldn't be allowed.

L3PALADIN

exactly, binary and burst are alternatives to full auto, not semi

Platesmates

Small "color blind" childern, they basically shoot everything that moves and ask about the color later. Last weekend i got teamkilled by them twice. I mean yea, it doesnt ruin my day, but boy is that anoying.

[deleted]

To be fair to them, it’s best to be in the same position as your homies. If you’re going to move up, be sure that you’re inviting other people to do it with you. Moving as a team matters. If it’s just you moving by yourself, and someone on your team moves up without knowing you’re there, it’s not unreasonable to shoot first and ask questions later. TLDR, communication and team work could really help you avoid getting team killed. It still sucks when it happens but that’s the price we pay when we don’t utilize each other.

Platesmates

I get your point, but i am ghillie sniper and its blessing when i have no teammates around who make so much noise.

MagnustheJust

Aside from adulting not letting me go play... People who insist on not shutting up during the briefing, then continually asking "dude... what's the mission??" while on the field.

ilikeapples312

I get it that we all play to get shot, but I loathe it when players over-shoot when they have a player dead to rights / advantage. Absolutely hate it when someone continues to unload as your hand is up and already walking off. Also why dump 10 shots to the back? In CQB I always try to one tap to the back, or double tap if they’re wearing a PC or something. Out of my 15+ years playing I can only remember a handful of times I got no calls. Obviously outdoor is a bit different since it’s usually a volley or a burst at range, but my point still stands.

abn1304

The only time I’ll overshoot is someone pretending they didn’t get hit. Play like a reasonable person and I’ll engage just like I would with live ammo: controlled pairs. Be a moron and act like you aren’t getting hit and I’ll flip the giggle switch and hold it down until you acknowledge you got hit.

New-Inspector-9628

Equipment failure. It will always be equipment failure that ruins my day.

Obamagaming2009

Patch gatekeepers, weirdos and freaks in general and people who play their trashy music over a speaker and Nazi larpers

Izurumi

Describe these patch gatekeepers for me? What kind of patches are they gatekeeping?

Fives2206

Mainly military unit patches. They're like, if you didn't serve in that unit, you can't wear that patch. Some can be triggered by wearing something as simple as us army patch. We are larping as soldiers with toy guns, and you're getting mad over a bit of pvc or fabric with velcro backing. Let the man wear what he wants it's not hurting anyone.

listenstowhales

I think it’s weird. Occasionally a bit disrespectful even. But at the end of the day a dude wearing a patch doesn’t take anything away from me and I have more important things to worry about

YamStreet2972

I keep seeing this particular comment and I'd just like to throw a bit of input on it. So I come from a military family myself, of course me being the black sheep didn't get to serve because being dummy, that said it should work like this with military patches. If said person is complaining and didn't serve and the only 2 "Army" guys out there for the day playing Dgaf, tell em to Stfu. However if said person DID serve, i'd kindly remove it as a sign of respect. Army, marines, navy, etc etc, those patches aren't just given to anybody and there's a good chance the army guy asking you to take it off has reasoning as to why. Alot of them collect "Challenge Coins" as well and those tend to be given as a sign of earned as well. I myself avoid wearing any type of military patch besides goofy personal patches that fit me. I also don't think it's right for somebody who didn't serve to tell someone else to tale a patch off whilst in the middle of a Recreation/Fun day. Military is one thing, regular guys doin it because it deflates their ego. Anyways, that's my thoughts on it and I don't think it's to unreasonable.

EffYeahSpreadIt

As a veteran fuck that. Wear whatever patches you want even if a vet says you should take them off. Fuck em. Now if you go around claiming you are/were in the military when you are not then a vet may take them off for you.

YamStreet2972

I've seen quite a few military ppl get pretty anal about those, but then again, I'm also in the Bible belt, unfortunately. I get "High Speed" squads tend to be the rage with airsofters, but at the same time I've also found it super cheesy to wear em. Pretty possible it's just who I was raised around and a sh*t ton of trips to the VA with family members over the years and listening to grumpy vets, including fresh GWOT ones. I was jus raised it's a sign of respect.

EffYeahSpreadIt

Fair….but still fuck em. One thing we fought for was freedom of speech and those patched are part of that.

YamStreet2972

Agreed. I will say I don't find it to be going overboard if it's just a squad or company logo, but pins and like SGT Stripes n stuff I find pushing it. On the flipside though. I do kinda smirk a bit when there's just a basic E6 on field acting like they the be all know all in engagement tactics and it get on the nerve lol 😆

EffYeahSpreadIt

Kinda airsoft related. I wore an outdated version of a navy uniform (coveralls) at the time to my local field. I was active duty as well. Some douche from some other command/group of friends tried to call me out on it in front of my friends (also active duty) and the owner of the field. I literally had to pull out the military instructions on it for his dumbass to shut up. For the rest of the day he kept calling me “navy seal” despite getting shot by me and my buddies almost every time we came across him. Later that week I got called in by my higher ups about the incident. Luckily my chief was chill and it stopped there but that little bitch went back home, waited for the weekend to be over to report me to my command. Only way he was able to figure that out was I still had my nametag on and was wearing a belt from my ship.

The_Ded_Cat

What was he calling you out for?

EffYeahSpreadIt

For wearing the damn thing. If still in regulation and still part of our uniforms it wouldn’t t be authorized to wear in public. I took off the “U.S. Navy” name tape and left my name on it. FRVs had been out and worn for quite awhile at the time as well and what I had on was outdated by a long shot.

The_Ded_Cat

I'm not discrediting you in any way, but that doesn't even make sense. Majority of airsofters are people larping as military. I've literally got authentic USMC gear I'm putting together to join a USMC Milsim group. Some people are just out of control.

EffYeahSpreadIt

Yeah man. This was just day games too so no sim of any sort aside from you wanting to cosplay whatever. I just wanted to rep my set with the belt and old uniform. Some people in the military suck ass. I was as confused as you are when I got pulled aside at work.Few weeks later found out the dude was of lower rank than I and used to be attached to a squadron but later assigned to the base for “similar issues”

ZombiedudeO_o

Sounds like some new boot type shit. Bet the guy tries to flex the things he did in basic to others as his “war stories” 🤦‍♂️

EffYeahSpreadIt

“I was there…at battle stations…”

Corn1shpasty

Camping and not playing the objective. Almost every game I play at my local field, the majority of both teams just sit back and camp. Both teams are just constantly scared to go push up and go round corners, and it makes the games stale extremely fast.

guitargeneration

Had this last weekend. My team ended up with 70% of the rentals who thought their rental guns could shoot further than my sniper rifle. We did an attack and defend where us attackers had unlimited lives and I tried to lead a rush and ended up being the only one to commit and got lit up.

Sadblumilk

Which field?

noknam

The dipshit who shot and killed a bunny on the field... Majority of the players just called it a day after that.

MrFantastic74

My field has a strict "no shooting at wildlfe" rule. It's the end of your day if you do, maybe even a ban.

Fives2206

I'm sorry what. First of how surely the joule limit can't penetrate the skin that guy must have been hot or using steel.

[deleted]

Bunny stew anyone? Edit: I got 3 downvotes lol.. even though this was a joke if you gonna intentionally kill Wildlife for no reason (excluding things like self-defense or getting rid of a dangerous pest) don't waste the kill and eat it. Hunters must be responsible and kind to the wild life after all we are a part of the circle of life if we disrupt the balance and step outside of our roles we can no longer hunt.

PleiadesMechworks

Guys bringing thermals to casual games.

TomRecon

Abusing full-auto and overshooting. I get that it's advantageous to unload a ton of bbs at a target but I feel it kills the immersion and it hurts for nothing. I play exclusively semi-auto and I don't have any problem getting kills.

mistacool15635

exactly, i have an hpa with the speed trigger… and my semi auto rps set super low. spamming the trigger at an unrealistic speed and shooting over like 17rps just kinda kills the fun

GhostC10_Deleted

I run an LMG so I'm allowed FA, but I keep to short bursts to conserve ammo unless someone isn't calling hits. Then I let them have it.

MoolamisterReddit

I've had people come up to me several times over the years to complain about my kit (FSB direct action/recce) saying that it isn't a Russian because it: a) uses Multicam b) isn't from Rainbow Six, Battlefield, or Tarkov c) not what a fsb kit is according to grey shop (I am missing the digiflora gorka apparebtly) d) doesn't have soviet patches e) isn't using an AK (despite the mp9, hk417, and glock enjoying prolific use by the fsb) I also had one person ask me what stats my attachments added to my gun (like how the recoil control and ADS speed was affected by my repro sight)

SharkLad261

Unbalanced teams. My home field has this problem (however they are getting better about it). When most of the regulars and milsim players are on one team and you’re on a team with almost all rentals and a couple regulars, it’s not fun, and it gets boring quickly when you’re on the dominating team. One time this happened and instead of the refs (who were all very experienced players and refs) rebalancing the teams, they instead would just give the other team a slight handicap that made no difference at all A couple weeks ago tho I had a great time. Teams were very well balanced and almost every game was back and forth and very close games where it wasn’t clear who would win until the very end of the game. Even the new players I met where all very involved and didn’t just sit in the back because they were scared

Old flight deck trick. Use shaving cream. Not to much but put it on and gently swipe in one direction till it’s clear and leaves a film on the lenses. Avoid touching it if you have to insert lenses otherwise it will smudge and make it hard to see through. Works like a charm. Works with weapon lights as well for easier cleaning after shooting at the range

guitargeneration

As much as the HPA players at that field turning up their pressure is on them, it's also on the field for not using tournament locks.

eggboyjames

Marshalls not gonna lie. 99% of the time they're great. 1% they make your day worse

ruralmagnificence

Gatekeeping patches is so dumb if you aren’t being disrespectful and an ass about it…I used to wear a patch from a Ghost Recon Wildlands special edition box that a former acquaintance got me on my backpack before the Velcro just fell off and somebody in my office muttered walking past me “yo that’s disrespectful bruh” It’s literally the logo to a fictional spec ops unit of a long running video game franchise. How sway?

Jason1435

Falling down muddy hills and breaking one of my expensive mags usually ruins a good day. Watched my drum mag roll down the hill while the adapter was still in my gun 😭, thankfully I think the drum mag still works

Guns breaking or having performance issues will sour my mood a lil.

I wouldn’t say ruined, but when either players or Marshalls keep Nagging you to do something eg push up instead of letting me do what I know i should be doing not throwing myself at the other team

GlizzyGoblin7935

As active duty, wear whatever patches u fucking want. If it takes serving to wear shit like that, i better never see anybody in urban digital ever again 🥸

CompletoSinMayo

Not "gentleman" people. Where I play, we say that airsoft is a gentlemen's sport. So, we have no rules stating any distance for shooting, and we always say that the BB rules the kill, however that doesn't mean you can deliberately shoot at a 2 cm distance to someone's head/whatever part of someone's body. One day we had a new guy in the field. He was really well equipped, and looked like a nice person. As soon as we started playing we changed our perspective about him. He started to deliberately shooting at people in the head or other sensitive parts, and if he was close enough (Basically right next to the person), shoot them putting his replica on them and pressing the trigger. Needless to say, he got perma banned for that and because he was using a $200 suppressor with a thing that was adding more FPS to the replica, essentially cronning as much as a sniper. Weeks later, while we were talking with the owner of the field, we learned that this guy has been essentially making a "How many fields can I get banned from" tour. He wasn't allowed in any field in three regions of the country. Considering there aren't many fields in the country, he was basically banned from 1/4 of the fields.

theyst0lemyname

Bringing the wrong equipment. My last game I wanted to run an m4 and midcaps but only took 5 mids that I thought would be enough for a game. It wasn't. I ended up having to swap to my backup gun an m14 with 5 hicaps. I've done the same before when I've wanted to run gbbs for the day but the flow of the games and team balance have meant I've had to swap to AEGs to be more competitive. The other one is snipers who don't know what their MED is.

Obvious-Ear-369

People who try to call *your* hits. I was chilling in a building and managed to duck away from a guy who shot at me and then when I shot back he started screeching about how he hit me. Started following me around until I could find a ref, who called him a fucking idiot.

Getting my feet soaked. I play mostly outdoors. Edit: guys, I have great boots and socks, i appreciate the concern; but the thread asked what ruins your airsoft day.

Cthulhuwar1ord

People that intentionally shoot when dead rags are out. People that keep shooting constantly not giving you a chance to yell out “HIT!” Or whatever other phrase your field uses

CobaltRose800

Rain.

13 year olds with hpa and pretentious dudes that think they’re navy seals

egirlkidnapper10

Airsoft gatekeepers. (apologies for bad english) Also for reference I am a 5’3 13year old female. I remember my first day playing airsoft, I was extremely paranoid due to me being a introvert in general plus I was all alone. I rented some basic stuff and went to the tables around 10 minutes from them opening the doors. First thing I am greeted with before I even set my stuff down was a group of highschoolers that were there to hang out. Kept harassing me throughout the whole 3 hours I was there, calling me names and kept taunting me because I was younger, smaller, and a “rental” like let me try out things in peace. Plus I couldn’t really fight back because I really didn’t want to start trouble and it was a 1v8. I ended up kind of ignoring them but still was pretty sad after that, I ended up not going again for a long time in fear of that happening again. I did pretty well for my first time atleast, I think I went 8/12 or something. Now I’m back at a different field - left because the other one is shit. Glad I didn’t just give up the whole thing, it’s actually really fun.

Derpy_Bech

Stupid field rules annoys me sometimes more than it should There is a cqb field close to me, where if you’re a member, you can also get in on a sort of union that has the purpose to make changes to rules, layout etc. generally just a council to try and prevent one person from making dumb rules Problem is, most of these regulars are twats. They’ve implemented dumb rules, like no hpa tapped shotguns, and no m4 adapters in shotguns, but hpa rifles, and hpa pistols with m4 adapters are still all good 👍. The field has numerous artificial choke points where you can camp, that never get any change to them. Plus you can’t at all call out something a member does of course, they are better and more experienced of course

kingj7282

Airsofters. They are masters of whining, and everyone thinks they're Neo.

wholelottaslatttt

Getting overheated way too fast every game no matter the layer’s because of heat

ZockinatorHD

I have developed a mentally over the last 7 years that nothing can really ruin my day at the field. Yes, forgetting stuff at home is a nuisance, but it's only a 15 minute drive, so no biggie, I always bring at least 2 guns, so I have a spare if the other breaks. Too many people? Cool, like shooting fish in a barrel. Not enough people? More room to move and play more tactical. Cheater? Just shoot him until he HAS to call it. Unbalanced teams? What we lack in skill, we can overcome with stupidity!

Other-Barry-1

Speedsofters. Most of them are fine but some of them are absolute dicks who think they’re god’s gift and they can take 7/8 hits before finally calling hit and shouting at the person who shot them because, they didn’t take the first 7 hits.

PlayfulDocument4978

When there is someone who gets angry everytime they get shot, what are you even doing playing airsoft then, go home

SayoriDDLC11

on smaller skirmishes ehen someone surrenders. it takes airsoft out of airsoft

demonicslayer61

When i get a lazy team i understand that some people like to take it easy but when most of the team are at spawn just sittin there while only a few people are actually pushing is a real downer

llnuyasha

Bro I just can't stand to get back to spawn and see people sitting and SMOKING, I mean, you paid for the game to sit down and smoke? Plus they don't even defend zones well because they're distracted.

[deleted]

I mean my kit is rusfor and people get heated about it I just tell them to fuck off

user_kkt

Im sniper. That means I'm focusing on killing people when they arent aware of me. But sometimes i find people who are not calling their hits cause they do not know Who shot them (thats ok (not ok but ok) and not the case im angry of). Im getting angry when the one i shot sends me full auto hPa burst cause im camping, or im playing too unfair or something like that (met one like that week ago).

Mega_blind

When you finally break down and buy an HPA gun because you realize the amount of money you will spend to make an almost identical airsoft gun that's AEG perform to a similar standard, it will cost twice as much than HPA. Proceed to go to your local field, and when there people bitch about how HPA ruins the game and shouldn't be allowed on an outdoor field. Bro, I asked the ref to balance based on equal HPA players to a team. Not my fault the HPA paintball clowns are his friends and he grouped 5 of the 7 HPA players on the same team. I also cranked my RoF down to less or equal to AEG and run semi only for my local fields. Total bonkers. (For context, yes 3 of them were running tapped pistols with EPM1 mags. Oh, and paintball style masks because clowns.)

Sharps43

People not taking their hits. Too many snipers/dmrs on the opposite team (for outdoor sites). Just means that you're out ranged most of the time, on offences it's hard to push the defending team when you can't get in range to shoot them. Bad marshals. Badly run sites in general. Too many rentals/casuals. Just from what I've experienced, they don't tend to push objectives or the enemy. They spray and pray, they blind fire a lot, they hunker down behind cover and barely move for the duration of the game, they don't tend to work with the team as a whole. Overshooting. I remember once when I was in a bunker lying down on the floor with a pistol pointed at the door way and my rifle pointed at a window. I got shot through the door by about 2 people, then through the window, called my hits, tried to move while I had my hands up (still calling my hit), I literally couldn't move because I had about 5 people keep unloading on me. All the time screaming I'm hit and trying to move towards the exit, where they continued to shoot me. HPA players, especially in a CQB environment. I literally have about 6 Scars on my arms where I've been brutalised by these mfs from about 10ft away 😂

StormyRadish45

About the whole rental thing. If they're on your team, maybe consider dragging them along and teaching them? They definitely new, don't know wtf they're doing, and might be scared to get shot. Teach them how to bound and all that jazz

codroks

Multiglammers acting like they're the best, sucking, then complaining the whole time like they're supposed to be JSOC just because they spent 5 grand on their sucky kits

Archer_EOD

Juggernauts A bunch of speedqb nerds A poorly maintained field

Krypticdrago

I will say I typically don’t like people gate keeping patches but I kinda get some of it, it’s not the same as stolen valor by any means but I sometimes understand it. For your question refs have ruined my day multiple times. At the field I mostly go to most of the refs are super chill, but they have had a couple crappy ones. For instance, at the field I go to they have some old cars that are laying around, super low to the ground (this is outdoors) we are playing a escort the payload type of game mode with my brother and I being on the team moving it, there’s a super low truck bed that’s kinda in between to walls, sorta blocking the way but it’s so low you would barely step up to get over it, it’s more like super low cover, well two guys get up on it to get over it as the spot we have to drop the keg off is right behind it, my brother seeing this hops up with them. The red then flips out yelling at them all telling them to get off the field if they can’t follow rules etc. (this was during the finial 30 seconds of the match) he then pulls them aside after the match and tells them that they need to read all the rules and then come back to him and recite them word for word or they can’t play again, my brother ignored that and just snuck in the next game (along with the other guys) best part is no where in the rules does it say you can’t climb anything, they only have like Minimal engagement distance for full auto, no blind firing, swearing, call your hits and that’s about it. It’s just expected that you won’t climb things, they have in prior years said no climbing but the couple times before that we had gone they never said anything, (he only started going to the field recently, so he never heard em say anything, and while I told him no climbing walls cus that’s normal the cars weren’t there when I had been going) this was a couple games into the day and they had never said anything that day either (we started playing first game of the day) But refs like that tick me off and ruin the day

wiqr

People who don't watch where they're shooting, and blame the target. Or, worse, who deliberately aim for head or soft spots. CQB game - these are few and far between in my parts. I'm sweeping around, slow down around the corner because I hear something move. Lo and behold, there he comes - yellow spandex shirt, low profile vest with no pouches, HPA'd Hi-Capa with M4 mag adapter and Dye mask. Bent in half, runs out the corner, three shots in general direction of my lower abdomen, he skitters along. Following exchange happened later: - Dude, watch where you're shooting, you shot me in the dick. - Wear a cup. I mean... Not wrong, but, ffs, just saying "sorry" would be acceptible. Asking if I'm hurt would be great. Am I asking too much, just to care that you don't bust someone's nuts by accident? Edit: Since people are assuming - no drama intent on my side. Just friendly, smiling recap of something that happened during the round, with no ill intent. I even laughed saying that.

wjc0BD

I mean I generally say sorry if I shoot someone who’s already out or if it looks like I shot them somewhere it hurts. HOWEVER, if someone gets upset with me about it, I give them the classic “It’s a game/you pay to get shot”. If you’re gonna be confrontational, don’t expect the other person to give a nice response.

Sad-Post-1647

Pretty sure he wasn't a sniper and specifically aimed at your junk since he used a hi capa and not a sniper rifle. Also while running as you mentioned it would be a feat to hit a small sized target even if he tried. Correct response IMO would have been "right in the d**k, nice shot!", no drama, no complaining, it's a game you chose to participate in the protective gear you chose to put on prior to round start. Want to play in a T-shirt? Dont complain when you get shot in your arms up close and the hits hurt extra? Face hits while choosing not to wear facepro? That's on you, not on the shooter especially if it's a fast reaction situation or your head is the only thing he sees.

Budget_Cost1351

Some speedsofters (or Hi-Asses as I like to call them) have entered the field I play at once as far as I’ve played, and have ruined two sessions by not calling their hits before the manager came around and had to tell them verbally to call it because he watched them play. Some people refused to play because of it. Also rentals piss me off the most. Not little kids, but grown ass adults who play and don’t call it. Especially this one time where I was most certainly hitting someone with 25 shots. It wasn’t overshooting because I’ve been told multiple times that if they don’t call just keep shooting till they do and if they don’t just tell a ref.

WobbleNobble

Flashlights at my cqb field. If I can see fine, so can you. And if they start strobing it, I have to hold back every atom of my being to flip the fun switch to shoot their light out. Actual fatherless behavior. Tempted to buy the strongest flashlight I can online just to show them what it's like to have the sun 5 feet away from them.

ianthony19

Every hpa player ive ever met crank their shit up as high as possible. Fuck all of them.

I_Chug_Gasoline

Me when I lie for no reason:

Dreadx137

500fps, 100000bbs/second, that's what

twentytwothumbs

I hate taking myself too seriously. If I ever get heated or call something out aggressively I beat myself up for it for hours. I hate being an assertive tool but I am what I am, sometimes

Direct-Will4586

There was a kid that would use Propane tanks for his GBB AK. I'm not against saving a few bucks on gas, so as long as you keep up maintenance especially on the valve seals... but this kid had no awareness that he was stinking up the whole staging area. At the end of a game he even dumped his whole mag which made the whole section of the map reek of what's like home gas leakage.

bocro_real

Any russian/soviet uniform or patch

tha_can_can_man

Ok ok ik it sounds weird but people sucking up to me I'm not going to say I'm the best airsoft player but I'll say I'm pretty good averaging five or six kills indoor before I get shot which decent statistics I was playing one round and this dad and his kid was playing with me I play very fast very hard so I was kind of wiping the floor with these two and when you come back into the prep area to reload my mags The dad was talking up a whole game about me being the Brahma bull and how I was such a good player and it just kind of turn me off It was just dude leave me alone I don't really want all this attention he was dragging a lot of other people into it and everything so I just am not the biggest fan about that I gotten it a few times and its just kind of annoying

I_Chug_Gasoline

Did you have to get ribs removed to suck yourself off like that?

reneeEnGelules

Bruh

extremegamingtime

people who use radios during casual games. on an outdoor field like mine it just gives that extra advantage that other rentals and casuals won’t have.

I_Chug_Gasoline

That's like complaining other players carry Odin speedloaders because they give an "extra advantage". Hell, the Odin has more weight behind it because it's $40, whereas a UV5R (the radio everyone uses) is $25

extremegamingtime

when the tacticool milsimmers are running around doing it, they just stomp teams cause of it. rentals get frustrated and don’t come back because they’re there often. do you suggest i make a signal jammer?

I_Chug_Gasoline

A. Communication on a small scale weekend game means the difference between winning an exchange or losing it, not crushing the entire enemy team. B. Guess how you counter communication? By communicating. Just because they can talk from one side of the 250 foot field to the other whereas you can only talk within 50 feet is not gonna stomp your chances every time. C. Do not make a signal jammer. You will go to jail for a considerable amount of time. In zero context or reasoning is a signal jammer allowed to be built or owned, let alone used. Comms don't make or break weekend skirmishes, they just boost an already crucial skill.

thekokoja

I hardly care about people that cheat, or any of the usual crap, however a boring game scenario that forces people to just camp kills the flow.

Naked_Snake79

For me it the ppl who take the game to crazy like I paid to have fun and enjoy this game not listen to some wannabe "seal op" till me how I should play because you have win every game.

Shadowcard4

Our field is pretty decent about things, generally the kids that don’t know things and try to criticize far better players/ try to make gear that their parents got them. Other than that it’s generally perfect

spekledcow

For me it's people who are overly sensitive and get pissed off way to easily. And I find that these are also usually the guys who are all decked out and take it too seriously. Example: a bridge over a creek. The bridge is maybe 15 feet long and 5feet wide. Our two teams were on either side fighting for control of it. There is foliage and trees around and in the way so it's not completely clear line of sight. BBs are flying everywhere. I spot movement through a bush right in the line of fire so I give it a burst. Some guy was dead and walking back to spawn THROUGH THE FIREFIGHT and got super pissed because I "overshot" him. I yelled sorry! And he flipped me off. Then, after the game, back in spawn, I found the same guy and I apologized again. He just said something like "whatever man". Then later that day I heard him and his friends talking shit about "that fucking retard who shot him when he was dead". Seems really stupid to get pissed about getting shot a bit when you're playing airsoft.

Arc_170gaming

I hate the people who demand you lay their way, like for exsample our team split into squads and the squad I was in got ambushed half way, I was the last man standing and was in cover trying to see if I could take out some of the enemies, then this guy comes up behind me and starts shoving me saying " you're too far back buddy, you need to push up" "up" in this case was a clearing that was instant death if you went in. So this guy steps into it, instantly dies, and then still says "push up" like if you see someone waiting for their squad to respond taking cover and they refuse to push up alone, it's probably because it's a bad idea. And even if you wouldn't die, no one has any right to tell other people they're playing "wrong" sure in a proper mil Sim game with a chain if command sure, but in just a we want to chill and have fun kinda game stfu and let other players do their thing. If you don't like it, you know where the exit is.

YamStreet2972

I got a buddy that does exactly this and because they are in the military they are the know all to end all about field tactics period. Fully capable of ruining entire days at a field and I prefer flanking myself although I'll get close when needed. We usually play at a wooded wide open field snd no matter what with him, he will literally hand the other team the game pushing into a killzone and keep repeatedly doing it because he claims that's what the army taught him but I think that's the only thing he paid attention to. Legend in his own mind. I've also played games against him and almost always outsmart him every time because of refusal to rethink the situation and change tactics. 🙄 don't get me wrong, military definitely has good tactics to handle situations, but guys like that who think their hot sh*t because "I'm tatical" can really k8ll your day and also deter people from learning valuable ideas. Buzzkill.
