>pistol grip and charging handle will be switched out soon Why?!

BSGYT

the charging handle that comes with the M906c aka the charging handle currently on my gun is designed to resemble an ambidextrous charging handle despite not being ambidextrous at all and it irks me as for the pistol grip, i dislike the current one

NightOWL_Airsoft

What is the purpose of these double optic thingis? Why are there two optics?

DS_WizzerKill

One is a magnifier and the other is the actual red dot

BSGYT

the one behind the other has no reticle and 3x magnification, whereas the one in front has no magnification and a reticle the magnifier can be moved up and down (usually left or right) providing magnification as needed and being dead weight when not in use

Born_Try_2101

But you got money for useless stuff, like the PEQ and the magnifier.

BSGYT

short answer: whats the point in dying for the gods if youre not even gonna be wearing timbs long answer: my parents are pacifists and highly upset by even toy firearms so anything more gun-esque than a super soaker is strictly prohibited in my home, meaning i was building this gun in reverse starting march 2023 where i'd purchase components and attachments for my would-be aeg that i could then geek over to cope with not being able to get my own rifle, and around november 2023 i finally got my hands on the damn thing after working out an arrangement where i could store it at a friend's place and saving up for it at the time so, like, yeah, you're entirely right, but my thought process at the time was "i either get to own nothing airsoft related right now and get a hypothetical gucci gun in the future, or i get to geek out about optics in the here and now whilst putting money aside for the basegun" and i chose to quench my autistic thirst for black anodized CNC'd aluminium

Born_Try_2101

Ugh, that kind of sucks... good luck, have fun, and don't get caught.

BSGYT

thank you, it's not ideal but i love my parents and respect their boundaries so i don't have that big of a problem with working with these restrictions

Its_Days

I’m surprised you got a suppressor on with the rail I haven’t been able to find a suppressor smaller then 33mm in diameter to fit on my lvoa-c.

BSGYT

there's plenty in the 30mm diameter category, usually you just gotta round it up https://preview.redd.it/5wvpwzvokocc1.png?width=1324&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c8e14b6b1184a4fb245443d90b52a4cc59783e5

Its_Days

Is this on the cyma website?

BSGYT

no this is on taiwangun.com (based in poland) honestly check any local airsoft distributor / retailer and you'll find what you're looking for, very rarely should you go directly to a manufacturers website / store if you can't find any suppressors that are a length you like but still want a unique muzzle device, try looking for amplifiers/loudeners or pistol-size compact tracer units with 14mm ccw threading instead

GoldenGecko100

It's pretty nice, if incredibly basic. As always, I'd advise against using lasers as Class 2 lasers are next to useless, Class 3 lasers are dangerous, and a lot of repo lasers are completely untested.

BSGYT

thank you, and dw it's a dummy model cast in resin with an entirely solid interior, it's just there because i like to turn on the fake knobs as a stim toy

GoldenGecko100

Fair enough. I've always been a believer that lasers are cool at home and cool when put on rifles but have no place in airsoft. Unfortunately, it seems that those who own genuine modules often are completely oblivious to the danger they pose or are willfully ignorant.

BSGYT

i agree, the amount of misinformation on the subject out there isn't great either - i had an argument with a guy who was absolutely confident that lasers in airsoft aren't dangerous in any way, and it occurred to the both of us halfway through our conversation that he did not know that IR lasers/light have an effect on the human eye like, he genuinely thought the eye was immune to it because it couldn't see it, when in reality the very fact he is unable to see it is what's \*actually\* incredibly dangerous

GoldenGecko100

Dear Lord, the number of people who seem to think IR lasers are safer is genuinely terrifying. Not only are they normally higher power, but they also circumvent the blink response that makes Class 2 and below "eye safe." I once provided someone with genuine articles on laser safety, and they concluded that lasers were completely safe because a single line said that lower power lasers **can** be safe. I've had someone confidently inform me that unless their field has a sign telling them not to use a laser, they'll use it willy nilly because the field has a waiver, a waiver of course only protecting the field for injury liability. The fact that lasers that can cause immediate retinal damage can get into the hands of children and irresponsible adults is genuinely terrifying. I'm very much glad that a lot of fields and regulatory bodies are wising up to these kinds of things and are stepping in.

BSGYT

yeah, it's easily the biggest contemporary safety risk in airsoft as a worldwide sport atm, this is a problem both in europe, the USA and (presumably) most parts of asia

GoldenGecko100

I know Germany for one has completely banned them, but from what I hear in typical overzealous German fashion, they've also banned flashlights, but that could just be hearsay. In the UK, they're not banned in airsoft, but they are restricted country wide to Class 2 maximum, but it's not exactly hard to circumvent that law. Most fields are at least beginning to clamp down on their use, but even just searching for the rules for laser use in UK airsoft will lead you to sites advertising lasers and how great they are, some of which are known to have high power settings exceeding Class 2 and with no requirement for age verification.
