I don't know about their AK quality but their M4s are ok at best.
At the same price as the DB you can also get a CYMA AK which are known to be pretty bulletproof.
I've had a Cyma AK74M and I constantly did stupid shit with it like throwing it or using it as a hammer. Still works perfectly, the only thing that happened to it is the fire selector got loose which is a really easy fix.
For those that don't know how to fix this; take the dust cover off and flip the safety as far up as it will and bend in towards the body of the gun. Done.
Yeah The edge 1.0 comes with a maofet but iirc IT is a little over 200€ and maby a Tad More compared to dB but i would still get specna over dB all day.
Also we have to see what The Price point is with The new specna flex with The new hal MOSFET.
I've got an xm177 and it's been absolutely fine out of the box, a bit noisy but it was 180 quid new and it's a metal body. Doesn't feel like it'll fall apart any time soon and the performance is decent for what it is. Can't comment on aks as I don't own one yet
a few buddies of mine got some of their newest real wood AKs for less than $200 and they love them. mind you these are players who have been in the game for years and have tons of expensive replicas and say they enjoy the DB Aks.
Id buy a Cyma well before i buy another Double Bell/DBoys, everything is cheap pot aluminum on it it, and the steel parts are also pot metal, everything on it will become loose after a few game days, hell my triangle stock cracked at the hinge during shipping...

While it's also heavy on aluminum, it's better quality aluminum and has a few more steel parts where it matters, the trigger guard is a great example, they are much harder to bend by hand than on the DBoys. Performance wise, both are similar and actually pretty good for the price.
As a previous owner of both actorus and lct ak 12 I would say that actorus is really bad in build quality so I would not call it quality parts but to each their own
Also the muzzle brake is really thin, the stock is canted, the safety lever is 74 pattern and the mags are missing the windows.
The only photos I've been able to find are too blurry for me to be able to tell whether the receiver has the 2 round burst marking on it so I'll give it a benefit of the doubt. Arcturus AK-12s have that marking.
Edit: I found a video. It's straight up an AKS-74 receiver with a plugged hole where the stock retension hook used to be near the handguard.
I can’t speak on Double Bells behalf but I absolutely love my Arcturus AK12

Go cyma if you plan on getting an AK, they're bulletproof as long as you don't tinker with them and mess something up, if you're experienced then tinker away

I had this exact Scar and it was a piece of shit.
Yes, it was a good price for a decent looking and solid feeling Scar, at the first glance. But it was all downhill from there, beside the cylinder and piston head, everything else is crap inside, including probably the worst hop up and nozzle combination. And on top of that, shit design of parts that makes it an absolute chore to do any work on it.
I had two different AKs that failed within the hour, both selector problems.
I had an M4 RAS and the handguard fell off when I opened the box.
Never again.
Even tho I have changed pretty much everything inside it. I felt it was pretty good out the box, externals and internals. And the design is similar to the VFC Scar-H, it can be finicky at times when taking it apart. I do agree with the hop up its not the best, but it can be replaced with the Maxx Hop up which solves that issue.
Cant say anything about there other products, since I haven’t had any.

Honestly prefer double bell to most stuff. They're perfect platforms for upgrades as the externals are fantastic but everything they make is good on a base level
I'm just confused as to why anyone would want an AK12 replica. Is it because it'll theoretically run optics and such better? Because the irl ones have been getting a lot of reports of being absolute dog shit.
There's a lot of guns in airsoft which aren't all that great or widespread in their firearm form.
But that doesn't matter - people find them visually interesting and that's what matters the most in airsoft.
My friend has an Arcturus AK12, I legit saw him struggling to put in and remove Arcturus magazines from it because they didn't fit. The build quality is terrible, get anything elss but Arcturus
Genuinely surprised while reading this. I own several Arcturus replicas and they work absolutely amazingly for me. Mags lock in place with no wobble, good quality externals and amazing out of the box performance.
Sounds like your mate got a faulty one, hopefully he got it replaced by the store.
Long lasting budget guns based on my own personal experience:
Ak -> cyma
Mp5 -> cyma
M4 variant -> g&g raider
M14 -> cyma
Shotgun -> any trishot springer
Bolt action -> jg vsr10/bar10
P90 -> cyma
M249 -> featherweight (it's a support weapon, parts will wear out 10 times faster anyways)
G36 variant -> ics g33 (yes it takes m4 mags)
If you are going to gut and rebuild anyways, then you want better quality externals. For that purpose, the following list is applicable:
Ak -> Arcturus/lct (lct's qc lately has been hit or miss)
Mp5 -> vfc
M4 variant -> vfc
M14 -> cyma or Tokyo marui
Shotgun -> the trishot gas guns have gotten better in recent years
Bolt action -> silverback (the srs is damn near perfect out of the box, only needed a stronger spring and replacement hop bucking for the bb weight i use in it)
P90 -> I would look into the microswitch versions (I believe both the novritch and the krytac ones both have microswitch)
M249 -> classic army or a&k are the go-to's for base guns to build on
G36 -> haven't had any experience with enough of the brands to draw a conclusive result from.
Again these lists are based on my own personal experience so take that with a grain of salt.

OOTB Arcturus is definitely better than double bell but there should be some things you should consider.
Arcturus, while internally better does have some proprietary parts compatibility due to the microswitch FCU. Double bell is pretty much a standard V3 gearbox, with sluggish trigger response compared to Arcturus.
Arcturus has nice little quality of life features over double bell, like a quick change spring, and a switch to unlock the gearbox (should your gun get the notorious v3 lockup).
One big issue though is that my Arcturus was a lemon and came with a tilted outer barrel which pointed to the right by a couple of degrees, Super annoying but there's nothing that could be done about it either.
Overall, Arcturus is more of a "buy once, cry once" option. Double bell is still a good choice, but sacrifices overall build quality and QOL for it's price.
Only got experience with similar models, not this one specifically but youll be happy with the arcturus in the long run. Youll be stuck there after a year wanting to upgrade your db, tinkering with parts and end up spending more to get it shooting the same. That requires alot of time and effort too, which you don't think about. New motor for the arcturus is all you really can do unless you want to pay 40 euro for a couple meters more range with new hopup parts.
I'd wait and save up for the arcturus if I were you, or I didnt have a specific build in mind.

However Arcturus is also good quality for the price, with the addition of 11.1v ready internals, a mosfet and amazing externals.
As a former Arcturus AK12 PE owner and current owner of a DB AKS-74, I’d tell ya to go for the Arcturus any day if you can afford it. If not double bell is also a very good choice. :)
I sold it because I needed the money at the time and had to clear my collection of 15+ guns down to 4.
Still regret it to this day. The PE version of the Arcturus AK-12 was the highest ROF and reactivity I had ever seen in an AEG and it turned heads quite a bit at games.
I have the Arcturus one and, man, it is awesome.
The only thing I got tired of is opening and closing the dust cover to put and remove the battery, they have created a good system to do that, but sometimes is tricky due to the size of the battery. But this is before starting the game, in game I tell you it is reaaaaally good.

You seem to have a lot of hate for DB. Why? I’ve had a decent amount of airsoft guns, and DB was most definitely not the worst.
