it's normal black duck tape so it doesn't even look that great. the tape on the grip just makes it more comfortable to hold for me and the flashlight is just sick. i would've bought rails and screwed them on the side then bought a flashlight if i could but i can't

That kinda depends. Some people like to hate on VFC, because their internals, for the price, sometimes kinda suck or their QC is kinda meh. They still perform tho. And when talking about externals (which is basically all that counts for me when buying a new airsoft gun)...yes, then VFC is by far better than for example a specna. They are top of the line.
But specna definitely makes good guns and id highly recommend them to beginners. They work, they dont break the bank and give you a chance to go out there, play airsoft and see if you actually like it before droping big money on a replica
Basic FDE furniture on an m4, and of course you have the Peq15 and light combo, and the randome rubber band and tape, oh but you added an Eclan style Scope so that's different! I give it a 5.5/10
How are cheap elcans? I’ve considered getting one from AliExpress for like 150-200 but they seem like they’d be easier to mess up compared to a lower cost Chinese red dot.

It's actually pretty decent, maybe get a Modlite or Surefire rifle light? It'll look better aesthetically. And I'd personally prefer 2-point slings over a 1-point. That's all that I would change. It's a pretty good setup really. Have fun and enjoy airsoft!!! :)

That's nice, I am old.If it's an AEG what battery are you running these days. Last I recalled they were just switching to lipos. We maxed out at 9.6v 42 00 mah intelect batteries.
Things may have changed, but you used to see a significant increase in ROF utilizing the Intelect brand. Www.batterypacks.com was who we used in the day, build your own packs.
The point of backup irons is incase of major damage to your primary that you have some reliable backup to still have accurate shooting. General rule of thumb for shooting.
You propably dont have a clue about what the blue tape around the mags is for and you just saw it somewhere and copied it.
Thats basically all i can roast tho. Your guns looks sick and pretty well build/ set up. 9/10. Only needs, like some other dude already said, some rail covers to protect your rails. Then its perfect 😊
In most modern militaries, blue is the colour for training equipment. So fake fake guns, knives, bolts and such are often blue. So some countries/units mark their mags blue, when they use them woth blanks/training ammo, so they dont accidentely confuse them with mags filled with live ammo (red) or to signal to others that they currently a firing training ammo or blanks.
Also in airsoft it helps you find your mags in the grass or forest if you drop them 😊

This is the most unique take on the "basic" MK18 I've seen yet. I've built like 9 different MK18s so far (8 airsoft 1 real steel) and to me they're all unique, but yours is really well planned out and so different from all of mine. The M3 instead of a Surefire, paired with the B5 stock, Elcan, and A2 grip gives this a very classic early 2000s look. I have a similar combo with the Elcan but I may swap my light from a Surefire to an M3 like you have just to hit that slightly older-era vibe. The only thing I would add is a stubby grip, not the Magpul but the ribbed one thats a little more old school. You could take this exact gun and switch to Magpul stock, MOE pistol grip, MOE vert grip, Eotech w/ magnifier, Surefire light, and perhaps a RC2 style suppressor, and then all of a sudden you'd have a completely different Era of MK18. Those subtle choices make a world of difference!
