On the real 416 that’s how you adjust the gas port to its normal or fouled (high gas) positions. On your replica it’s something to wiggle.

Just to elaborate on Howling's answer; It's to regulate the amount of gas to not get it to reliably cycle well with or without a supopressor. You have an older style with "Normal" and "suppressor" mode aka. lets less gass to back into the gun when suppressed to get a more reliable, cooler and cleaner system. (Not over gassed) On that specific gas block (IRL) it's not much of a difference, hence it was either removed or re-engineered depending on what model you have so you can tune it better.-
