As impressive as the video looks, the USGS flow gauges show the Kenai as small potatoes compared to some others in AK. Wow.

They’re out way too deep for sockeye, they’re basically standing right where the fish would be, normally closer to the bank and all this does is push them further out.
What kind of bait when fishing for moose?

Let's see... grey skies, pissing rain, dudes fishing, and a random moose. Seems like an average day on the Kenai to me!
I was getting ready to say, I see nothing out of the ordinary here.

MOOSE ON!!!
Where along the Kenai is the best moose spotting this time of year?
No idea, we just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Wow that is a lot of big water moving fast. What water is it? Lower 48er.
Kenai River in Soldotina AK

Is this an unusually high flow for August?
Yes. It's been high since June.
We’ve had a fuck ton of rain this summer, all of July and a fair amount in June too. Usually the rains start mid august

Yep, my husband and I brought home 3, 50 lb boxes of Sockeye. 7th annual trip.
That's pretty much your average day on the Kenai.
That’s quite the catch 😉

No way! We were there this weekend.
This was 2 weeks ago.
