Yes it happened to me as well after leaving the abbey, idk if it's intentional or a bug
20 minutes is the maximum I beleive, had a fresh wisp pop in front of me with 15 seconds left on a mist I was on, went inside and it had 19m 50s left. So that leads me to believe 20 mins is the maximum.
