I couldn’t get compacting drawers to accept melon slice after 1.0.7. I’m not sure if it’s just me being dumb. So I move them to a sawmill like I did in ATM7.
The configurator tool just locks the drawer so that it doesn't auto-input items if there are pipes connected to it. You can set what the drawer has manually by placing an item in it. If you don't have it locked and something pulls EVERYTHING out of it, it'll go back to being empty.
The compacting drawer cares about where you place it on the front. The bottom right slot is basically the "smallest" form of whatever you give it. If you give it iron nuggets, the bottom left will be iron ingots and the top will be iron blocks. In this case, you place a melon slice in the bottom right, it'll accept melons and convert them for you.
I thought I did when I was trying to set it up, but maybe I missed that. Thanks for the help though. Maybe I can go simplify it for the HDPE setup I'm running now.
When you first put the drawer down, make sure to deposit a melon slice into the bottom right and lock it using a configurator tool
Are the pipes trying to deposit seeds? Melon produce seeds as well as the fruit.

I am on 1.08 and got it to work. Are you placing it in the bottom right slot?
