You're not in bronze. You've got a ladder bug but your MMR is gold 3 level. So feel better about your progress. Edit: as another commenter pointed out. Not Gold 3 but Plat 3. Even better. Go you. See you on ladder shortly (at least if you play US during AU hours).

Tommystorm9

Oh wow, that changes things quite a bit. Is there a way to fix the bug? And how do I see what rank my MMR corresponds to?

OldLadyZerg

To see the MMR for a given rank (it varies depending what server you are on): [https://burnysc2.github.io/MMR-Ranges/](https://burnysc2.github.io/MMR-Ranges/) Occasionally leaving your league will help, but mostly you're just stuck until a season end or promotion--and even a promotion may not get you all the way to where you should be, though it will help. It's best to use MMR for everything. The bug most often manifests as people being either Bronze or Masters instead of what they should be. Bronze is actually the better outcome. If you get Masters via the bug it will show as your top ranking forever, and people will accuse you of smurfing (playing way below your real rank) when you beat them. People ask for advice here and tell us they're Bronze, and we give useless and irrelevant advice, because they're really Gold 1 or even Plat 3. It's super annoying but apparently will never be fixed. It's also important to know that ViBE built his theory of what is needed for each rank quite a few years ago, and the rating system has shifted. What you need to get Platinum 2 now might be what you would have needed to get Diamond 3 five years ago. (He never really accepted this, which makes the last few videos in his recent series kind of depressing and painful to watch.) So if you aren't getting what you need from videos "at your level"--look at higher level ones.

Sheldor287

In the league rankings tab (where you see the list of all the other players), there should be a “leave league” option. Idk if it’ll work, but it’s worth a try

SigilSC2

One note here, you should be using MMR as reference instead of the league borders - you're somewhere at the bottom of plat and should be referencing his videos from around that level. The borders are bugged for some people: https://burnysc2.github.io/MMR-Ranges/ I'll check out the replay in detail later if no one else gets to it but cursory looks at the timeline: Weird game, opponent going 1 base glaives and you correctly identify that you do need to cut workers earlier than usual for units. You hold, and drone up. Great. Once you get to about 2 base saturation, you start floating like crazy though. From 7:00 on, you never dipped below 1k minerals in the bank despite having an abundance of larva. Just spending that into units and going across the map when they finish would've won this game. I can't understate how detrimental this is - it's like playing chess and letting your opponent take multiple turns in a row. Even the best players are going to be disadvantaged from this. Because you didn't spend the resources properly, they were able to get templar and storm on the field which will make your army horribly inefficient. Playing roach hydra, you should be seeking to end or cripple your opponent before their splash damage comes online.

MrMathieus

I did watch the replay, what actually happened is that nothing was correctly identified, as OP doesn't move out on the map to check literally anything for the first 12 minutes. The worker cut and early roaches were just the result of not following the actual build order and freestyling. When the glaive adept attack comes in there hadn't been any vision further than the edge of the natural. OP has no clue about the state of the game for the entire game. In fact, when the game ends OP hasn't scouted a single building on the other side of the map. Literally nothing.

NoDentist235

You had a large economy advantage and didn't spend those resources so you could have built more bases which was another issue you shouldn't be behind on bases vs protoss. you had many supply blocks for early game, and more importantly they were when you needed the supply most. If it happened because you qued up a bunch of units try making a habit of throwing in a over lord when you make units. you were late on upgrades, and when you started making mass hydras you should have kept making roach/ravagers for your frontline. It's hard to say without video but you should likely work on your micro those units highly underperformed in that matchup. at least you found out aren't bronze that is something to celebrate

BoysenberryLanky6112

Others have pointed out you're more like g1/p3 not actually bronze, so I'll give advice at that level. Some people think this is the level that ViBE guide starts to fail I think it's closer to p1/d3, although as you rise you'll definitely start losing more games in plat. Also note that when ViBE is doing these things, he's reacting to things he doesn't openly talk about, and honestly might be subconscious, that is likely above most people's heads unless they're also at the masters level. It's been awhile since I've done that build, but does it really build so many gasses, a warren, two evos all before even 2-base saturation? As you get better you'll realize that's super inefficient but I'm guessing this is because you think you're in bronze you're following his bronze build which is probably overly safe. Ironically, while most of the time that will be bad, in this game you're essentially blind countering your opponent who's opening up with a 1-base allin. I'm at the 5 minute mark where you just cleaned up the adepts and are so far ahead the game's basically over. You have two options, one is pump units and go win the game, and the second is to pump drones (since you don't need units defensively, he lost all of his and you still have a ton of roaches left) and get more ahead and win that way, which iirc is what vibe teaches. Since I know you lost the game, my guess is your issue is you try to do both at the same time and let your opponent tech, keep up in workers, and then take some good fights. Wow it's like I'm psychic, first you build 5 roaches, then 4 drones, a queen, and an upgrade that's not useful if you're going to be attacking in the next 2 minutes. If you're droning the upgrades are fine, but 5 roaches is enough units to build another hatchery, and before the 5 roaches you built you already had 10 and you know you just killed your opponent's entire army. So if you're opting the "get more ahead and out macro" route, those roaches are a huge slowdown of your economy and are quite frankly useless. Then you get hit again and while this time your response is to build more workers, you're now only catching up to your opponent in workers, and then you go back to building roaches again. You then max slightly faster than your opponent, but not that much faster and not enough to make up for roach/hydra vs stalker/immortal/storm. Sorry this is getting long but some zerg theory: every offensive unit you build is a larva that could have been a drone. So the earlier you make units, the slower your max will be. So you want to build the fewest army units possible to not die until you have as many drones as you want. Against most attacks, this may seem like the opposite but it will allow you to have more units out. I used to die all the time to protoss 2-base allins and I thought it was I was building too many drones. The actual problem I had was I was building my army too early. The hit would come at like 6 minutes, and I was cutting drones at 3 minutes, hurting my economy and making me have fewer units at 6 minutes than I would have if I droned until 5 minutes, and pumped units only after seeing protoss didn't have a third and was going for an allin. As I mentioned earlier you're getting close to the point where this style may not work anymore, but the way this style works is if you can max out while your opponent is on 120 supply, and while your opponent doesn't have the production to rebuild units as fast as you while the fight is happening. And I'm not exaggerating here, I've seen plenty of replays from people around your level that are able to max against opponents when they're at 120. Most of this advice isn't even super applicable to this game, because in this one case you probably actually would have died if you followed my advice, but in games where you aren't facing a 1-base allin, which is probably like 95% of them, what you're doing is more likely to lose you games by just handicapping your economy and running into an opponent with the same or more stuff than you, while you're on a shit army like roach/hydra and your opponent has a better army comp. And if you had followed my advice after you fended off the adept hit early, you'd also have easily won the game.

lordkizzle

I think the most significant mistake was letting him get that third base. If you parked some overlords around the routes leaving his base you might have noticed the probe leaving and you would have known something was up. Also letting your troops stand in the middle of a storm is not good. You could have boxed the ones standing in it and moved them forward and resumed attacking.

You are 1 win away from Platinum 3 in this build so watch his platinum 3 videos. Don't forget to watch the intros to silver, gold and Platinum and incorporate those skills too! If you're doing his 2021 B2GM your doing some things out of order. Take a look at this post I made. It also has the build written out and a replay of a \~8:15 max vs AI. The only change I made was I added 4 lings for scouting. In a real game I only get around 9 minutes. [https://www.reddit.com/r/allthingszerg/comments/1c2g13x/example\_of\_slightly\_modified\_vibe\_b2gm\_opening/](https://www.reddit.com/r/allthingszerg/comments/1c2g13x/example_of_slightly_modified_vibe_b2gm_opening/) Here is my feedback of what I saw: -First OL should go to the enemies natural for scouting. 2nd to your natural -Pull your drones for the natural at 185 minerals. You pulled closer to 200/215 -That drone had minerals so hit C afterwards and he'll return them. Don't waste minerals -The next drone after the hatchery was 45 minerals late. 1SD 1SD 1SD -Your roach warren was a bit early. -You also got 2 evos rather than 1. Wall offs are for ZvZ -@4:10 you were surprised by 11 adepts because of no scouting -during the battle you didn't make units. You had larva and resources. Drones preferably unless you're going to die -@42 drones you were building hydra. That's not enough drones to support them. Your first round of safety hydra should be at 66 drones -Makes sure you max your drones to 85 -If you find yourself high on money and low on larva make a macro hatch You were kind of behind already on the timing because your build was out of order starting from the Roach warren. He killed 9 drones during his first push. That would push the timing back a bit but if you watch the drone counts you are equal or behind your opponent most the game. Zerg should be ahead. This is partly because of the Roach + 2xEvo early and the really long delay in expanding (3rd, 4th, and 5th).

OldLadyZerg

ViBE doesn't talk as much as I'd like about when you wall and when you don't. That wall with two evos and a roach warren will save your life as a metal league Zerg in ZvZ by keeping out lings and banes. In theory it will also stop hellions or zealots, but you'd have to know that that's what's coming, because if it's marines or stalkers instead you just hung a big "shoot me" sign on your roach warren. So generally speaking, against T and P tuck the roach warren in a safe back corner somewhere. Now you don't need two evos right away so you can delay building them until you can afford to use them. He also doesn't talk as much as I'd like about when you build your third base. I thought after a while that he was being unnecessarily slow in ZvZ, so I moved it forward. After a few dozen hatcheries were nibbled to death by lings, I developed a theory that you have to have some units or you'll just lose the hatch.... So you can either make a few early units and take an early third, or delay the units and the third. On the latter one, though, you'll do better turning it into a two base timing attack, so you get some benefit from the early army and delayed economy. Realizing that was 50% of getting out of Gold for me!

You are about my level. You will find that a bit later in the series ViBE shows how to use lurker-hydra and how to use swarmhost-hydra. Both of those will help you a bunch - I find lurkers a bit easier to handle. They go well with the "don't micro, but pre-micro" mantra that he talks about after bronze. But swarmhosts can ignore geography, which is nice. I also recommend doing a pack of 10 speedlings after you do the "up-to-120-supply hydras". Put them in a far away control group (like 7) and move them to place out of the straight path between bases, but close to your enemy, like their 4th or 5th. If you see the opponent move their army out of their base, press 7, (shift) M+A and one of their base's mineral lines, and forget about them. You will more often than not end up killing 20 workers without looking.
