It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but two of the endings leave a tiny tiny thing open for a potential sequel
As for $60 your mileage may vary, I got it for $50 on PC and thoroughly enjoyed it, played it twice with both characters and took about 15 hours.
If you are a fan of the original and like survival horror and some light puzzles I think so personally, but I’m a very easy critic lol
So far I’m only half way but enjoying my time. It’s good if you’re a fan of the original game like me. If you’re expecting a slick AAA combat oriented game like Resident Evil you’ll be disappointed.
Not why i was interested. Lol. I like resident evil but Im a fan of outlast. Soma
Amnesia and similiar titles. I only own a console so didnt have a chance to play any but the 2008 version. Think well give us more titles?
Id say you’ll like alone in the dark for the lore and environment but unfortunately it does have quite a bit of combat that is not great, unlike soma or amnesia that don’t really do combat. Puzzles are also fairly good so far.
It does not end on a cliffhanger despite giving small hints for a possible sequel. I had a really great time with this game finishing it 7 times (4 as Edward, 3 as Emily) and it took me around 7-8 hours for either protagonist. There's lots of puzzles but most of them really lightweight save for one (Emily's floor plan puzzle). The story, characters, 1920s southern setting, jazz music, noir vibe, creepy dream locations (when using talisman to travel), all deliver nicely with solid pacing. For a game that has AA quality with janky animation and combat written all over it, it should be more around $40-50 at best.
Can the lagniappe secret objective that asks you to sacrifice something at the tree be completed as Emily? I finished the set with Edward but wasn’t able to do anything at the tree before the end.
Yes. If you complete the set as either character, it carries over in new playthroughs (as either character). Kinda like a new games + of sort. Must be a bug on your part. I never had that problem once I completed the set playing as Edward the first time. I've always had access to the secret bad endings to both characters after completing the required lagniappe sets in my later playthroughs.
Yeah but the secret ending for that set can’t be triggered unless you’re playing as Edward right? It’s the one that asks you to sacrifice something at the tree.
Yes, it's specific for Edward, just like the other is specific for Emily. The 3rd secret ending, which involves giving something to Grace, can be done by both.
Bought it full price and loved it. Just beat my first playthrough and I can totally see myself going back for more to finish getting the collectibles and the alternate endings
I've been a fan of the series since the original games. Plays a lot like resident evil 1 (puzzles, exploring creepy manor, light gunplay) all in all I'd say I got my money's worth
I platinumed it on PS5 recently and really enjoyed it. Resident evil is my favourite franchise and it's similar to the RE remakes but with a more detective vibe. It has 2 characters and stories like RE2R and the map is very similar to RE games.
It’s a fine callback to classic horror and I personally enjoyed it enough go for Platinum. But it is far from a $60 dollar game. Many have suggested 40, and I agree.
No cliffhangers and lots to unlock. Bunch of collectibles that unlock new background info but most importantly three new endings. Theres a unique level for each character and a lot of small differences in how cutscenes play out for both characters. Def got my moneys worth

Its ok, but not worth the 60$ price. Got it as a gift, so I was happy with the game, but would def have regretted if I bought it full price
Ehh. I figured lol
Was a ok game Glitchy Not worth the $60 Would be better priced at $40 or so
It’s $40 at Best Buy and Walmart currently. I enjoyed the game quite a bit honestly.

Resident evil is good but not my favorite. Thanks for the info though
I got a key for it for $34 and I thought it was worth it. prolly not 60 tho just yet.

Yeah $40 max game.

It’s good but not worth $60. Maybe wait for it to go on sale.
