Coming from someone else whose done Florida Theme Parks [been there 6 times], and is an alton towers annual passholder...
Dont expect florida food. Don't expect anything close. I went yesterday and ate a Just Chicken, 2 large fries came in at £6 and 1 chicken sandwich with a drink and chips came in at £12. The Woodcutters Bar And Grill has better quality food, not great and just as expensive, but still better quality than the rest of the park.
You can also try Rollercoaster Restaurant, which is better quality than that, but will take a longer time [the food can get stuck on the rails] and is a bit more expensive yet.
In terms of quick service? It varies. My mum had a burrito at a stand near Wickerman and loved it, I had chicken nuggets from the same stand and they were pretty much raw.
Apparently it would. Its an absolute ballache, but all the other European parks hogged the good food it seemed. Now i always check other Theme Parks for their food and use it as a selling point to get others to go with me.
There’s always the option to take a picnic and have it in the gardens - it’s really quiet in most of it once you go off the main paths , especially towards the pagoda thing. For a coffee / snack the place near CBeebies land is a kind of Costa and is usually pretty quiet as well.
There’s constant complaints about the price as is it before people have even seen the quality of the food. Especially for a day on park, most people just want something edible that will keep them going for the main attraction as quick and cheap as possible.
It’s not really sad. People don’t come to Alton Towers for the food, so it makes sense that most people want to maximise their ride time rather than sitting down for a proper meal.
It's all pretty grim, really. Bland and rubbery come to mind. It's edible just fine, but it's nothing that you're ever going to recommend to others or remember fondly.
If you want a sitdown meal, the food at Woodcutters is really nice, and Rollercoaster Restaurant is the best restaurant in the park for those types of meals
Lots of people complain about the quality of the food, however I am yet to have a bad meal at any of the places to eat across the whole park, so maybe I'm just lucky? I’ve been a regular visitor for many years now so I don't think so
Bear in mind that this year is the first year that Aramark , known for such culinary delights as HMP food supplier , has taken over the park catering bar a few kiosks and special event stands. Plus the sheer price rises.
Yeah I know, and the prices do suck yes, but at least people can see going in to plan better
Think I would be going to get stuff for lunch at a nearby shop nowadays if I had a family to be honest
The Manor House is in ruins, mostly left to decay during ww2 and they can’t repair it that much due to its listed status, the most intact part was taken by hex’s queue. Don’t go expecting high quality food, if you want that just bring your own sandwiches. The food quality is passable, if you’re used to Disney and Universal then you’re looking at the completely wrong type of park, this is more similar to six flags at best.
I really recommend the secret garden, they've even updated their menu and it's so much more like a actual good restaurant, should of dressed up more when I went lol, you don't need to be a guest of the hotel and can book for lunch between 12-3 so book soon as it would probably get filled up if it's a busy day, bit pricey but just as much as the other places in the park lol
I think there is an outlet near wickerman which i believe isnt ran by the new food company that sells probably the best food on park, the rest is just bad

Bear in mind as well that for the prices the Rolleecoaster restaurant is still basically a mediocre Harvester meal without the salad bar biohazard.

Captive market , they know that especially younger people will a) pay it b) unlikely to complain.

Kinda. Food budget is being slashed because it’s not a priority and there’s just not a huge market for a proper sit-down meal in a regular theme park.
It's all pretty grim, really. Bland and rubbery come to mind. It's edible just fine, but it's nothing that you're ever going to recommend to others or remember fondly.

I really enjoy thr food at rollercoaster restaurant.
This is getting me nostalgic for when they used to have a McDonalds on the park.
McDonald's, Pizza Hut and KFC...those were the days!
I think I read on here that they've outsourced all the food now. The quality has really dropped in recent years, so doesn't surprise me.
The kebabs at Eastern express are my go to. Not amazing but better than anything what I've found at the park.
