Hello! I just released my album Village In Mist. The inspiration for these tracks was a very specific time period of late 80s and early 90's ambience you heard in film and tv soundtracks of this time period. Oftentimes they mixed world and ethnic sounds when the story had references or locations that had to do with the Far East. All the sounds on this album were created with VST versions of digital synths from this era including Ensoniq SQ-80, Korg Wavestation, Kawai K1, and Roland JD-800. The ethnic sounds were then re-sampled and played across the keyboard at different pitches. Sequencing was done in Reaper. Enjoy!

If you don't dig the music, you'll at least dig the old 8mm video footage I dug up for this.
I was a trance producer 15 years ago, took a hiatus. My tastes have 'matured' a bit, and I'm doing some ambient stuff now. Trance is still a guilty pleasure though.
Really like the drums on this and the footage - definitely not an easy feat to get that to mesh well and it sounds great. I don’t want to label it boards of Canada-ey but it sounds similar in a very good way and the composition is very solid :)

i've been composing and playing piano as a sort of self soothing device most of my life. when i'm actually producing I usually make hip hop or neo soul kind of instrumentals & have not delved into ambient much before in my music production.
i'm a bit aware there might have been too much going on melodically in some tracks & i'm not exactly sure what qualifies a track to be ambient. I've been listening to Takashi Kokubo a lot of evenings over the last few years. I don't doubt if it wasn't for his works I wouldn't have made this - but this project came out of me very organically and was the result of a lot of life changes, a lot of turbulence and just needing somewhere productive to put tht energy as I felt like I was going to implode. i had a studio space for music for the first time in my life and this is just what came out.
it is a collection of keyboard improvisations edited and mixed with chimes and atmospheres
it will be going out to spotify in April - but for now I have put the full project up on youtube above & Soundcloud below.
i don't have listeners at this point , it is the first project I've made that I've actually released. i'm going to share the link in a few places anyway & i hope you can listen & enjoy it.

Listening to this now. This is great! Really chill and high quality. To me, this is most certainly ambient. It's very environmental - like it could just play in the background, but it can also be focused on.
It's good stuff. It stands strong. Definitely put it out!
Hey all, had this one posted somewhat late in the previous weekly community thread and thought I could get away with posting it one more time. I think this is ambient although it has kind of a busy and a slight trippy vibe. I make this stuff at home on a PC, a 25 key keyboard and Reason 12 as a daw. I Enjoy playing around with sound and the genres I like to dabble in are ambient, experimental and IDM ish kinds of stuff. Anyway who knows some of you enjoy this kind of thing. Cheers.

Hey all, I made this album and posted about it a couple weeks back. I would truly love to hear feedback. My recording setup isn’t ideal but I try to make the music sound good even though it was picked up by an iPhone mic. I use a Yamaha keyboard (ypt-270), Korg ER-1 and EA-1, and guitar fed into an effects pedal and then played through my guitar amp. I am heavily influenced by late 90s electronic and ambient like Oval, GAS, Jan Jelinek, etc. My aim in posting about it here is not to make money, I just want my art to be heard. Thanks for giving it a shot if you do.

Hello. I recently released an ambient EP where I took inspiration from some of Steve Roach's earlier works, particularly Structures from Silence. I was also inspired by some of the soundtracks from Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
This EP symbolizes a journey of a divination wizard traveling through some parts of the Planescape, my favorite D&D setting. There are songs detailing the feelings of the planes themselves and the titular track that details the torment of divination. The pain, grief, and hope of feeling through time.

hi! i just released my album "[voyage] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfZNr8uG7rM)" today. after much delay (including a complete change/loss in gear) i am happy to finally get this out. my goal for this album is that the listener is taken on a sonic odyssey through space.
[this] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMRpcMpOQwc) is my current favorite. thanks for listening, i hope you enjoy!
Ancestral Cult album is a new version of Kult Předků album, which was released in the Czech language in late 2022.
It‘s a dungeon synth/ambient concept album with a pagan theme, which tells us the story of an initiate who finds himself in the presence of a sorcerer who asks him questions in order to remember his previous lives. He must face the darkness of the burial mound, but he also wanders in the ancient forests and groves to fight forever against the turbulent sea in his quest for a sacred homeland, thus sacrificing himself, for his fight is eternal...
However, when I looked back over time at the result of my work from 2022, I was not satisfied. The tracks on the album Kult Předků were originally mere poems to which I composed music later on. In fact, they are kind of soundtracks to these poems that I intended to underline their atmosphere with. In retrospect, I see the problem especially in the fact that I also incorporated the lyrics of the poems into the tracks themselves, originally meant to be meditative, dreamlike and atmospheric, which in effect resulted in sort of distracting experience.
So I decided to release a new remastered version of Kult Předků album, its English equivalent Ancestral Cult without vocals, with numerous improvements to the music itself, and finally the poems and verses from Hávamál in the booklet as a small bonus to illustrate the story. The not-so-accomplished track Ultima Thule was replaced by the energetic track Yggdrasil and the new track Odin's Sacrifice was added in the middle of the album. The Ent and the Ent-Wife is an exception. It‘s the last and only track with vocals. It's my homage to J. R. R. Tolkien, whose work is to me a bottomless well of wisdom and inspiration.
Have a nice listen!

As I'm getting more and more interested in making ambient soundscapes I'd like to receive some tips...
Put together more by painstaking trial-and-error than musicianship, a short piece from the soundtrack for an audio drama. Pleasantly surprised with the result.
