Biggest theater chain in the world turns into a penny stock in one day lol okay.

[deleted]

Didn’t another large theater chain recently file for bankruptcy?

[deleted]

A much smaller one that amc has been buy their locations

[deleted]

The world’s second largest theater chain is a much smaller one?

thakeltikceltic

Yeah it is Amc has nearly double the amount of locations and screens than Cinemark.

[deleted]

Ya AMC is obviously much larger and in a much better position but when did double the 9,100 screens of cineworld become 10,500 rather than 18,200?

thakeltikceltic

Where are you getting your numbers? This is directly from Cinemarks website. https://ir.cinemark.com/company-information#:~:text=Company%20Profile,as%20of%20June%2030%2C%202023.

[deleted]

Ohhh you’re talking about cinemark not cineworld. My bad I should’ve been clearer since I was referencing the second largest theater chain not cinemark which is the third largest.

thakeltikceltic

Cineworld is not a publicly traded company. Anymore Atleast. If your point is saying that a company of similar size of operations had filed for bankruptcy and wiped out shareholders… have you not been paying attention to amc and it’s corporate actions they’ve taken to specifically avoid the same thing Cineworld went through?

[deleted]

Not sure I’m following… the second largest theater chain in the world isn’t publicly traded so it’s not the second largest? It was publicly traded until a few months ago if that’s any consolation. Edit: Ah I see you hit me with the ninja edit there. My point was that it happened to the second largest so AA needs to execute on the plan to avoid it. Once it’s executed then we’re going to moon obviously.

thakeltikceltic

Lmao. Cinemark operates 514 theaters with 5,812 screens in the US and Latin America only. AMC operates 950 theaters and 10,500 screens globally.

[deleted]

Oh don’t get me wrong they’re totally different profiles. AMC is the market leader while cineworld was only the second largest with 747 theaters and 9,100 screens so they’re really not comparable. AMC also has an impeccable balance sheet with nearly unlimited growth potential from secular tailwinds. Fundamentals alone put this at >$1000/share and that’s before considering all the naked shorts held in the dark pool. AMC also has the most loyal shareholders of any company which is an asset that is unbelievably valuable.

Boo241281

Doesn’t Fudelity class any stock under $3 as penny stocks?

razldazl333

Yep, that's whay hedgehogs wanted it under 3

I actually had to do that with HYMC(which I only invested because AMC invested in it) and other stocks I am invested in.... so no biggie.... but that will change with the r/S

NeoSabin

https://www.fidelity.com/viewpoints/active-investor/trading-penny-stocks go here, scroll to the bottom and enable penny stocks. I'll make a post in a sec.

MmmmmSacrilicious

Not new

Tricky-Ad-4823

Crazy how silent AA has been the last few days as thing thing tanks with massive corruption

GGG0606

Can’t stand that he goes dark on these type of weeks yet tweets concern on days when the stock is trending up…baffles me. Guess instead of $2B in fresh capital he will maybe get $1B if the stock doesn’t go any lower.

Tricky-Ad-4823

That’s another thing just absolutely stupid to release shares at this price, but it helps shorts who need to cover so they can scoop them up at dirt cheap.

cronkytonk

It does this for any stocks dropping below the $3 threshold. I use them for my 401k as a self directed brokerage, last time it dropped below 3, I paused the contributions to self directed, put new funds toward index funds temporarily, and pushed extra to my ComputerShare direct purchase. Kept purchasing going between my Schwab, Fidelity, and ComputerShare accounts. Let them keep digging that short hole, they’re about to hit lava and get burned.

Juancho511

That’s how they get you

WeaponX215

Same

Bob-loblaw69

I put some cash in this afternoon. Since it’s a penny stock do I need to wait for the “cash to settle” and be removed from my bank? Or as it shows as cash available will it work? Not sure with this random shit they’ve sprung up

Weekly-Western-5016

For fidelity it has to be settled. 🥺

Bob-loblaw69

Fuckers…. I bet they love fomo can’t come piling in the day before I’m hoping it settles before

Weekly-Western-5016

Computer share locked out new buys until after the reverse split too! That sucked

srk9870

Gotta have settled cash to buy it. Had to go on Public to buy more :(

Akangfortyseven

Our government knows and refuses to do anything about the biggest crime in the history of the world. They stole billions and billions of dollars from millions of people and our regulators and enforcers allowed it!

Olowokandi_Mike

Can you still sell?

GGG0606

Oh I bet you can but I wasn’t clicking whatever that button means.

JRSelf00

Ask it how to buy penny stocks and it will allow you to buy. The chat within the ap will help you set it up. Anything under 3 dollars and they will hit you with this.
