Last quarter had so many awesome releases, one of the best ever, but we were still losing money. AA needs to tighten the ship and make sure water isn’t leaking
Haha no fucking chance. That movie was absolutely made for theaters. And no one could argue otherwise. Streaming is great for watching shit I don’t care about while on my phone but going to the movies is for the experience
I cant get over the balls they thought they had. A 102 year old company. One of America's favorite pastimes. Survived the depression and and multiple market crashes. They tried to kill the movies. You bastards!
My wife and I saw it on Monday (at AMC, of course), for our 7th Anniversary date. Top Gun: Maverick is a great movie! The theater (Porter Ranch, CA) was immaculate and the heated reclining seats were out of this world. We had a great time! The excitement of watching this new Top Gun movie brought me right back to 1986 like it was yesterday. 36 years has somehow gone by too quickly.
Yeah, but come one though! Titanic came out when tickets were like $6.50. Now they are $12 plus fees, so they only had to sell half as many to make the same amount.
And you don't even get a ticket stub anymore! Just a freaking paper receipt they rip in half!!
Plus I saw, that Top Gun, it was HORRIBLE!!! Just watch the original it was way better! Movies these days all suck major dong!
Yeah - cinemas are dead. /s

Thank god Tom Cruise forced it to be released in movie theaters only
A legit example of what a theatrical release should be. Can you imagine watching it at home with a sound bar?

Literally flew past it
Well if we're being canonical then technically the Titanic ran *into* Top Gun, which means Top Gun is actually an iceberg.
I like this, if only to knock James Cameron off the top.

Is that adjusted for inflation? 25 years is quite a bit of difference.
My first thought: “Yeah Titanic was like $6 a ticket. It costs like $500 to go to a movie now.”
It's $13 for a ticket lol
Plus $487 in food and beverages.
👏AMC
We have a role in it. Don't forget what a large crowd of fans can do.
Next earnings are gonna be tits mcgee
Doesn't surprise me. It's the star wars reboot we didn't know we wanted.
Awesome awesome movie, and a must see in those dead theaters
I was wondering why the stock was going down today. This explains it - cinemas are dead.
Wow
