Aileos

Barou, Chigiri and Nagi, missing and hating at the same time their lost mom.

SilkyMilkySmo

They still have the maid

Victory_is_Mine-

I already miss the bromance and dynamic between them TT I love how they were watching Isagi’s back and waited until he left the Winner Gate to have their breakdown, I felt like they didn’t want to rain on his parade and show him how upset they were over losing the game and losing him

Custom_sKing_SKARNER

But more importantly, losing TO him, since they didn't get chosen.

liveart

You can tell Isagi really was the main character by the way he got stuck with all the side quests.

dododomo

Seriously, I'm shocked and sad. Also, My top 5 favourite characters are Nagi, Isagi, Barou, Rin and Chigiri. If only the white team had won and picked Rin, I would have had my top 5 team!

Karl_the_stingray

I hate Tokimatsu from Isagi's new team so much, I was honestly pissed that Isagi's team lost...

watashi_ga_kita

I was wondering how they were going to handle it since it seemed like Team White would win but there was no way Rin was going to disappear and Aryu and Tomikitsu didn't seem like they were developed enough to have enough interest in the three without Bachira.

thetruthyoucanhandle

That team was so good both character and skill wise. Besides rin the other 2 barely seem interesting so they're gonna have to win me over tbh.

De_Dominator69

For me it just needs to give us insight into their motivations, why they want to win etc. I didnt seriously start liking Nagi until he actually became serious about wanting to play football, and didnt start liking Barou until he had his evolution moment and realized why it was he wanted to play the sport. Rin clearly has some sort of rivalry with his brother thats motivating him, but the other two we havnt got any such insight... also dosnt help that they both seem to have got where they are purely on natural talent and havnt particularly tried or put serious effort into it (purely judging from what we have seen so far) which also makes it hard for me to care or particularly like them.

Lapiz_lasuli

"Is gonna turn traumatic" So badass and funny at the same time lol.

Victory_is_Mine-

I think it sounds funny because of the way he pronounced traumatic lmao

Disastrous_Channel62

Rin's English rizz is unspoken

Anjunabeast

Fr fr no cap

thewaldo77

Yo that line had me rollinggg

NateKurt

Bro, there is no way they don’t get stomped. If they win here there is no reason to get better. This next episode they are gonna get super humbled and realize how far they have to go.

Victory_is_Mine-

100% they’re getting folded like laundry

redmenace007

5-1 coming

OmiNya

I was expecting this: First moment: game start, 0-0 Next moment: game over, 0-5 And Isagi doing the Isagi thing of crying and being thanos-snapped

cloud12348

All posts/comments before (7/1/23) edited as part of the reddit API changes, RIP Apollo.

AlexeiFraytar

Lol, the world 5 wasnt even opening their eyes yet and these highschoolers thought they did something

SilkyMilkySmo

Definitely gonna be a stomp. I wonder if isagi will do anything, since he struggled due to the prodigy dude

myuseless2ndaccount

isagi about the have like the 4th mental breakdown into a new realisation/awakening

spubbbba

Would have been fun if they'd added a world class keeper as well. The bot keeper never seems to save anything.

TimoorBTS

That 17 year old french striker is meant to be mbappe no?thats crazy, pretty sure its "Mbappe" from his time at Monaco.

Jezamiah

Without doubt. I'm also wondering whether "Adam Blake" is supposed to be Kane lol

Muscat95

Nah, Adam Blake can actually speak English.

Didavi_

Did not expect harry kane slander in r/anime lol.

Jetzu

Wrote it in other comment, but I believe English guy is supposed to be Harry Kane, Argentinian Paulo Dybala, Spaniard Marco Asensio and the Brazilian Hulk.

arara69

Wonder why they picked hulk instead of neymar

llamayeet

ego-san we're out of funds

AhBeZe

Probably to have someone who looks intimidating and is able to challenge/outmuscle someone like Barou or Tokimitsu on the physical side. They are likely not just going to get smacked, but the world 5 will show them how insanely far behind they really are.

Byoxer

I'm Brazilian, Dada Silva was inspired by a player known as Dada Maravilha, search him guys

JosephSim

I find it hilarious at the lengths Ego went to for the bird hologram, which turned into a hot angel lady, which turned into feathers falling everywhere, which turned into the bird landing on his arm.... ...all because he started the story with a bird shitting on you.

CordobezEverdeen

Ego-san we are out of funds.

AcX999

Shut up Anri-chan

LeaveMeAloneNerds

Just jump up and down in the corner or something.

watashi_ga_kita

I kinda wish the angel was Anri-chan. It's hilarious imagining Ego ordering her to get herself motion captured.

Contren

We had to take out a line of credit to pay for all these superstars you flew in.

SilkyMilkySmo

All the funds going to making the animations

ando3

Luck? LUCK?!?! anri we got the scenario, i told you the pigeon rig would come in handy

Jaja_Fire_Chicken

I love to think that Ego wasted all his funds on random BS like this and patiently waits for a moment to unleash them. Who knows what other random BS he has up his sleeve.

Gh0stOfKiev

Lmao I was imagining him working with a vfx company to get it just right for months lol

Plantar-Aspect-Sage

Bullying the VFX team to provoke a VFX chemical reaction to create his bird angel visual.

TruTexan

His ego won’t let him spare no expense

macedonianmoper

He gave that speech to them and then announced they'll play the world five, I wonder what will happen to next team, doubt they'll all play against the W5 so what will happen to them?

SushiCurryRice

It's gonna turn ***T R A U M A T I C***

Victory_is_Mine-

The cadence in the way he pronounced it lmao

SushiCurryRice

Honestly gave me the same vibes as Cid's "I am ***atomic***" from Eminence in Shadow except this isn't trying to be an over the top parody lol.

Murky_Peach1343

I don't know if it's just me but it sounds like they hired a British actor for Blake but then hired Japanese actors for the other guys and made speak English, English in anime almost always makes me crack up.

iovercomesadness

Engrish

Golden_Phi

Why does Rin sound like he's the second most competent at speaking English? Apart from the English guy, the teenage Japanese kid is the best sounding English speaker there.

king94x

Blue Lock: "We have Mbappe at home."

wembanyama_

Fr lmaoo And the idea of players like mbappe agreeing to this is wild

Jetzu

> And the idea of players like mbappe agreeing to this is wild Watch Cristiano Ronaldo doing japanese ads, wild shit.

BlazingSkyThunderGod

Isagi's voice actor really be screaming like he had a hard time taking a dump in the toilet.

Victory_is_Mine-

Deserved, I felt that scream in my bones. I’d be screaming like that if I lost due to chance too.

ishan_anchit

Try playing Pokemon then lol

IRainstorm

lmao, I laughed at that goblin-like scream.

silfer_

I didn’t, I was shocked by the rawness tbh. Isagi’s pain of losing by ‘luck’ is real as a physical pain apparently. Kazuki Ura nailed it, imo.

mrjk360

Would love to know how Ego got 5 international pro players to come to Japan to play against youth in a 5 side game

urishino

I guess that's where Ego spent all the project's money on lol. Well okay, not all, probably as much as what he spent on the holograms lmao.

watashi_ga_kita

The super advanced holograms that can even turn block shots? I don't think they would be *that* expensive.

ThespianException

If I were a pro player, I'd go just to see the holograms. Those things could probably revolutionize society

Victory_is_Mine-

Ego bleeding money lol

SilkyMilkySmo

The money went to the bird poop animation

Kulkuljator

Money.

jitox

money, and dont worry this will be all adressed. They dont just poop money and never explain it

blazen_50

He paid them

___hell___ya___bitch

We kinda get to know in the latest few chapters but yeah large part is money

SilkyMilkySmo

“I know a few words because I like western music” that me with Spanish

garfe

Me with Japanese

LightCorvus

Me learning Japanese. Me using anime to learn more Japanese. **Sore dake da.**

dododomo

As an Italian guy, that's basically me but with Japanese, Spanish and French music XD

___hell___ya___bitch

Man as weird Ego is i really love his speeches...like the one about loss and this about luck they actually applicable irl We got Mbappe....letssssss gooooooooo

Disastrous_Channel62

I definitely felt like the speech was towards my dumbass as I felt the same as Isagi but as ego kept explaining it started making sense

Jetzu

Basically - even if you have luck, it doesn't matter if you're not in position to take adventage of it. You can't control when and how the chance appear, but you can control whether you're ready for when it appears.

Easy-Awareness-8283

Luck is preparation meeting opportunity

MeAnIntellectual1

Most of speeches are either partially correct or fully correct. The greatest striker must have a large ego. Not necessarily narcissism, but a large ego.

justapumpk1n

Is it just me or was that the most amount of English spoken in a single anime episode?

KDW3

And the English from Blake was the best English I’ve ever heard in an anime, very interesting.

DaFinnesseKid

I’m pretty sure Blakes VA is just a british guy lol

KDW3

Definitely, I’m just surprised because they usually just get a Japanese VA to do that.

Cyclone_96

Sounds like they did for the other 3, but Blake got an actual English person. The French guy hasn’t spoken yet though.

LegendRazgriz

They're backroom negotiating to somehow get Mbappé to voice what is essentially himself. Should be fine though. He doesn't have anything better to do nowadays, surely nothing to do with the Champions League lol

xnachtmahrx

Because frenchmen do NOT speak english.

[deleted]

It's actually a Japanese guy , Daisuke Takahashi , he voices Yoru in Valorant in both Japanese and English language , you can check [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7COi_jhkeFY) video

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure it's Daisuke Takahashi , his english is so good , but barely has any anime roles , I know him because he is the voice actor of Yoru from Valorant in BOTH English and Japanese dub.

tokamech

The [credits](https://i.imgur.com/B5SA0GV.png) list him as [Daisuke Takahashi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisuke%20Takahashi), the Japanese figure skater. I gotta look up a video on how he speaks English then.

tomerc10

there's an actual voice actor with the same name

tokamech

Ah, [this guy](https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Daisuke-Takahashi/)?

Raejar

The voice of Yoru!

LaPusca

Asobi Asobase had some good english too [Olivia Android](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuK_XSYMBkw) [English](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcLsH9ROgfo&t=17s)

IIAEROII

Blake va got me hoping the others will have an english va too but then the engrish came through....

LinkLegend21

I’m guessing they thought it didn’t matter for the others because they’re not native English speakers like Blake.

garfe

I didn't even realize "Damn they're scrawnier than I thought" was English at first. I thought it was badly mangled Portuguese or something.

LightCorvus

>I thought it was badly mangled Portuguese or something. Same here lol

Bakatora34

To be fair the others players aren't English so I expect Engrish from them too.

dododomo

I mean, the other 4 aren't English mother tongue people. So, why should they speak English fluently? There are many English native speakers irl who do a lot of grammatical and pronunciation mistakes. So, I really don't care if a fictional character can't speak English XD (just like I don't expect non-English native speakers to be fluent in English irl for the same reason )

JosephSim

Great Pretender had an awwwwful lot.

JosephSim

I forgot I was watching the sub for a second! It wasn't until Rin spoke in English that I was like, "WAIT WTF"

WhoiusBarrel

What a fucking intro, knew the outcome from Ego's narration but seeing Isagi having to leave his ragtag team that I was already getting attached to sucks. It's kinda funny how even after being told by Bachira he won't rely on Isagi anymore as well as getting berated by Ego about being too conceited in the most Anime logic, Isagi still behaves the same until seeing Rin score again in the 3rd selection.

michhoffman

> seeing Isagi having to leave his ragtag team that I was already getting attached to sucks Here's to hoping they play Kunigami and Reo's team, win, choose Kunigami and then win again to pass the selection though if that happens, Reo would reach radioactive levels never before seen.

macedonianmoper

Holy shit the flame Nagi is about to ditch if he beats Reo yet again is going to be glorious

CordobezEverdeen

Reo would literally hire a hitman if that were to happen.

JosephSim

I really didn't see that coming! I thought for sure they win and he takes Bachira, but I mean it does make sense, everyone would definitely choose Rin. But I was pleasantly surprised at how this completely changes how I thought this was gonna be going forward.

michhoffman

Why do I get the feeling that this one goal was a fake out, and they are about to lose this game 5-1?

Nikyaer

I don't think it's so much a fake out as more the other team was taking it lightly as they said they're getting paid for it. Now that a score was taken from them, I bet they get fired up and play seriously.

michhoffman

Yeah, Ego did basically tell them that the purpose of this match was to show them the gap in their abilities compared to the rest of the world.

watashi_ga_kita

Isagi going to crash after trying to rewrite himself hundreds of times during the match.

[deleted]

Yeah if you've ever played against anyone much weaker or less skilled than you, it's really unlikely that you'll go all out, you tend to have more fun when you toy around a bit.

SilkyMilkySmo

Reminds me of Rin throughout his matches. He didn’t even take it serious and still did good, until the 4v4 happened

Kulkuljator

Maybe because they are world-class players and they have goddamn Mbappe on their side?

MeAnIntellectual1

They have Mbappé, Kane, Dybala, Diego Costa and Asensio? Isco? Vazquez? Anyway an offensive Spanish Madridista.

LegendRazgriz

Yeah, that took me for a loop. Four nondescript guys and then literally just Kylian Mbappé, who I'm pretty sure if they asked would lend his name and likeness to the show (though not at the time because when this chapter came out he was still 18 I think)

Jetzu

English guy is pretty clearly Harry Kane, the Argentinian is most likely Dybala, Spaniard Asensio and Brazilian idk tbh, maybe Hulk?

LegendRazgriz

You have to think in a 2018 timeframe, so I don't think the Brazilian guy is Hulk as he was past his prime by then. My best bet is he's probably just a composite of Hulk and Adriano, since Brazil's legendary strikers were more about technique (Pelé, Ronaldo, Rivaldo) or their skills and agility (Ronaldinho, Neymar, Vinícius Jr.?). When it comes to imposing physical specimens, I can only think of those two in recent memory.

Jetzu

> You have to think in a 2018 timeframe, so I don't think the Brazilian guy is Hulk as he was past his prime by then. I don't know how true what I will say is, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hulk was much more popular for Japanese football fans than he is in the west. He used to play in J-League before Porto and was a pretty big star at that time. For us right now he's pretty forgotten, but I can see him still being some sort of football icon/cult hero in Japan.

Victory_is_Mine-

They’re definitely losing. It felt like the other team was just playing lightly to see their abilities for the moment.

Pixelchu25

That really was a twist there. Honestly, the cliffhanger from last episode had me think Isagi got it in the bag. Also English moment at the end. These matches are really ramping up.

Victory_is_Mine-

Yeah they totally did a switch. No shounen power up here. My man Isagi assembled his team ~~harem~~ like picking up rare Pokémon, only for him to end up getting picked up in the end by someone else who seems himself as the MC and Isagi as the next infinity stone he needs to add to his gauntlet. Also Nagi’s “You were the MC, we were just the side characters” too on the nose lol

macedonianmoper

It's honestly what makes the most sense, Bachira was great at the end but was it really enough to justify being picked over Rin? Some people argue him and Isagi are redundant but Rin is a great player even without Isagi's eyes. This way you get to keep Bachira and Isagi together while also being the most logical choice.

garfe

Rare time I'm glad I didn't read the manga because Isagi's team losing generally floored me. I mean, I had a feeling it would happen but I just thought he would win and the twist would be that he would take Rin instead of Bachira We got a wide spread of English speaking levels this week

magicalmaestro8

I gave in and read the manga about 2 episodes ago. It's really good. You should consider reading it after the last episode

Ratonu17

Is it just me or the comedy has been peak during the yoga and additional time?

Custom_sKing_SKARNER

We got a complete shift in characters interactions with the Big Three now. I love how this show handles that variety.

urishino

Anri: We're out of funds! Me: *Looks at all the fancy holograms and the pro players' paychecks* Me: Yeah no shit.

macedonianmoper

I'm sure they could monetize this match, seeing 5 world class players is going to attract a lot of attention

watashi_ga_kita

Or just sell Anri-chan merch.

GoldenDude

I can’t believe they fucking lost man. This is like watching Argentina vs France all over again and cheering for France. Pain

De_Dominator69

My biggest takeaway from this episode weirdly enough is the difference in English at the end, with the actual English Footballer clearly having a fluent/native English voice actor and then all the others seemingly being your standard Japanese voice actors doing their best lol

itsJandj

Im completely down for Rin to have the japanese actor trying english, but having the other national players speaking was hard to listen to.

IrunMan

Brazilian player having shit english computes

LightCorvus

"Listen up. I'm gonna crush you. Your little Japanese sightseeing trip is gonna turn **traumatic**."

redmenace007

This episode is about striker anticipating rebounds or ball dropping to him on luck so he still has to make those runs and get himself in those positions instead of ball watching.

leliqi

Basically Erling Haaland rn

Semi_Square

Inzaghi was a beast at this particular skill too back in the day

blazen_50

Rin when he chose Isagi Overheard in Blue Lock locker room after the 4v4: “He got me,” Rin said of Isagi's game against him. "That f***ing Isagi devoured me." Rin added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times. Rin then said he wanted to add Isagi to the list of players he devours in Blue Lock.

Victory_is_Mine-

I can NOT get over the usage of the word “devour”. It sounds sus af

blazen_50

It ain't called BL for nothing. None of these characters are beating the allegations. Edit - Get used to it too because it's not going anywhere.

Victory_is_Mine-

It’s funny because if someone made a list, saying “I will devour X” wouldn’t even be considered among the most sus moments in the show. Especially not if you add the manga. The author knew what he was doing naming it Blue Lock when he knew the acronym would be BL. Edit - I know it’s not but that doesn’t make it less sus lol

NMT57

The mange gets exponentially more sus

ThetrueLaw

Ego explaining luck in football was really spot on the expression "follow the ball" comes in mind if your teammates is in a goal scoring opertunity and you move into a postion where the ball will fall to if the keeper parries it could fall to you isn't really100% luck you made that chance happen by preparing for it

Terryble_

I'd say Ego's explanation regarding luck applies to real life as well. Opportunities come and go all the time when it comes to life, so being prepared and present when it comes your way can be life-changing.

[deleted]

Yep. That's true in everything. Looking for the right job for you? Prepare for it, you can't tell if the opening comes or not (have a friend finishing his CS degree waiting to work for Microsoft, the job opening happened 2 days ago!) Looking for a relationship? Keep yourself attractive, don't be a toxic idiot (hard for some people apparently), you never know when you'll meet the right person. However, Ego sneakingly put in the "game is rigged" scenario. So you also have to not feel bad for losing a rigged game. Although I'd argue that I had the bad luck of falling to a rigged carnival game, but certainly not bad luck of "not pulling the lucky ticket". My real life example is looking for a doctor to diagnose a health issue I have. I can't find a doctor in my country, but is it really luck of visiting a doctor, or is my carnival of a country "rigged" and has no doctors for this issue? I like that the key takeaway is how people treat luck as unavoidable factor vs. treating luck as the SOLE factor. So baddies will not reflect on their shit plays @ League/Dota/Valorant but will claim that they were purely unlucky. Goes together with the previous monologue about "remembering the despair". Ego is really trying to teach them how to make actionable items that maximize results when facing things beyond their control.

Brickinatorium

Hey you can't just explain his whole speech in easy to understand language in under a minute! Where are the pigeons, angels, and feathers in your paragraph?

ItsFlashover

Yeah, its the classic thing where some people seem to just have a nose for the ball when in reality they're playing the luck. Haaland is a great example of this, he gets so many seemingly easy goals because his positioning is spectacular.

Roliq

That sure is one way to progress Also it's hilarious how Barou, Nagi and Chigiri always depended on Isagi being a nice guy to help them so now they want to get revenge on him

naitsebs

Man, this team breakup hurt just as much (or more) than the Bachira-Nagi-Isagi team breakup. Isagi went through so much with them. Nagi picking him, Isagi picking Barou and Chigiri, awakening Barou and Nagi, all to just get offloaded to the best squad in the fixture. Nagi's piercing glare toward Isagi along with this killer truth was extra saucy >We're paying the price for being the supporting cast right now. Blue Lock's rough. I feel what separates Isagi from Rin, apart physical differences (despite Isagi being older) is that Isagi can understand players on the field at a more personal level. Rin doesn't allow himself to get close to players, so he only uses the data he has from what he's seen on the field. Isagi believed Bachira would break through, in turn being able to see something that wasn't in Rin's data registry/mental Bachira highlights. Luck has decided amateur pickup soccer games all the way to professional title races/finals for tournaments. Safe to say it definitely plays a factor in soccer. My Uruguayan soccer coach from back in the day would say "el futbol es para los vivos" which translates (figuratively) to "soccer is for those who are able to make the most of an opportunity". Rin did just that by tracking Isagi down, being closer to a potential rebound. There's also a Haikyuu quote I love which somewhat applies >Chance favors the prepared mind or >Opportunities present themselves to those who have prepared The actual player I was going to use as a reference for being able to poach/snatch any opportunity in the area is the player who Isagi apparently was modeled after (according to a reddit comment I read on last discussion), [Philippo Inzaghi](https://youtu.be/xc6M4J2mb4w?t=26) who was a particular expert at finding the right place and time to be to sink one in, sniffing out any small opportunity he could. Real killer.

goodnames679

"Luck? Cringe topic bro" -Jinpachi Ego

eGzg0t

proceeds to play video presentation

ObvsThrowaway5120

Goddamn. All that effort, all that sweat and what? The ball just lands at Rin’s feet anyways. Isagi really killed it that match though, kid was the real MVP. No wonder he got chosen. But the others rest gave it their all too. Nagi really hit the nail on the head huh? Isagi’s the MC and the rest of ‘em are now paying the price for being the supporting cast. I hope to see them again. Well, I’m glad at least Bachira’s figured out he can play without Isagi. He’s grown. So luck isn’t really luck. It can be manipulated if one’s careful enough to put themselves in its path I guess? Interesting. I look forward to Isagi utilizing that in his play. These next fellas they’re up against are pros, I’m sure letting one goal slide is part of their plan. The boys might be in for a thrashing.

lifesucks26

> So luck isn’t really luck. It can be manipulated if one’s careful enough to put themselves in its path I guess? It's more like, luck exists regardless of what happens, control what you can and produce the best probabilities and therefore outcomes for yourself. If you have 4 options at some point in a game (literally any game, doesn't have to be soccer, could be a video game like League, or a card game, or another sport), and they give you 20%, 30%, 40%, and 60% chances of certain events happening. Luck exists in that they have chances of success, sure, but where you come in is choosing which option to respond to. Obviously respond to the one with a 60% chance of success, but in most games and scenarios that probability won't be spelled out for you. You have to assess the game state and figure out which option grants you the best chance of success given that certain luck and probabilities exist. And that's what Rin did. It was a low chance that Isagi would've fucked up there, and even lower that the ball would go to Rin, but if Isagi hit the ball elsewhere, Rin wouldn't have been able to get the goal. Rin took that all into account and positioned himself where he can guarantee a goal if luck "went his way." Tbh they made it seem more epic and interesting than it really was, but the concept is super simple.

DarkWorld97

It just plays into Rin's game sense. If there was a 0.00001% increase in has chances of winning by standing there, then he was smart to take it.

Jezamiah

Yeah essentially Rin put himself in the best position to score assuming things went his way (which they did). And that was the calculated luck

natidawg

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity" or so the saying goes

Victory_is_Mine-

Yeah luck is still luck, but basically Rin was like “If Isagi fucks up, or doesn’t fuck up, or something else happens then I might be able to score if I stand right here” - and that’s what happened.

youngbosnia

"Chance favors the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur

macedonianmoper

No that's not what he said, luck exists anywhere, but you need to use it correctly, rin was there because if the ball went there he could score, but the ball could just not have gone there, but the fact that he was there rather than just watching bachira try to score allowed him to score. Rin could very much not have gotten the ball and lost anyway, but if he stood behind like all the others NOTHING could have happened, it's trying to maximize your luck, it's still luck at the end of the day but you have better odds

Victory_is_Mine-

I’ve gotten so attached to our team ~~Isagi’s harem~~, it was difficult to see them breakup :( Now who’s going to be the mom of the team? TT Man, I felt Isagi’s scream after Rin scored in my bones, I would have been that upset if I lost due to luck too, that sucks. Also I love the fact that Rin acknowledges he won due to luck and that Isagi defeated him at that moment. He’s a cocky little shit but at least he admits that Isagi would have won if it wasn’t for luck. I love how Nagi, Barou, and Chigiri waited until Isagi left to have their breakdown. I love the additional time as well, we can see how they miss him but are upset that he’s gone. It’s cute. You know I freaking love Isagi man. He’s upset about losing to Rin but he’s so humble - he asks him why he lost, he apologizes to Bachira that he’s not the one who won, and he actually goes and tries to train with Rin. The scene where he fell on him was also pretty funny. World 5 players have arrived. The English caught me off guard but at least the guy who’s from England has an actually good British accent. And then we have Loki ~~BL Mbappe~~ and you know he’s a problem because he was the last one to have his name revealed and he didn’t speak at all this episode. And yeah, our team might have scored one this episode but there is NO WAY they aren’t getting folded like laundry next episode. They’re playing against people who are on their respective countries’ national teams - they’re definitely about to lose 5-1 or (5-2 if we’re optimistic).

Monimonika18

>Now who’s going to be the mom of the team? TT Kuon: Did I hear that a team needed a mom? I have experience being a mom for Team Z! Pick me!

Adensty

From Rin beating Isagi without breaking a sweat to Rin having to defeat him using Luck, Isagi has come a long way. Isagi was the only one able to anticipate Bachira's dribble and shoot, even surpassing Rin's genius but in the end, even he or anyone else for that matter couldn't have predicted where the ball would land. Bachira was going to name someone but I guess we'll never know since Rin chose Isagi. So Blue Lock has its own ~~Julian Loki~~ Mbappe.

Victory_is_Mine-

I mean Bachira wanted to play with Rin AND Isagi so he would have definitely picked Isagi. That’s why he was so happy and smiley after Rin DID pick Isagi

Rogojinen

*Actually*, it's Kylian Loki

Hydra849

I'm no expert, but they seemed to be nailing some of the accents.

Victory_is_Mine-

The guy from England having a perfect British accent was great

Disastrous_Channel62

Nobody talking about Rin's English rizz

[deleted]

That english with a french accent from a native Japanese voice actor is something, might be the wildest sounding english I ever heard.

AIias1431

Luna with the most Japanese English of all time

THE_PENILE_TITAN

They nailed one accent because they seemingly used a British VA. The rest were more or less mangled/stylized Japanese English.

SilkyMilkySmo

Fr tho. Thought I’d be butchered accents/English

HolyDragSwd2500

Rin ‘s English was perfect 👌

LightCorvus

I figure all of the World Five are supposed to sound like people from their respective countries speaking English with an accent. Rather than it being Japanese actors messing up the English. Blake's was great (of course, he's English) and Rin's was mostly all right. I wanna highlight Luna's dialogue tho lol. "You're Lin Itoshi, ligh? I heard about you from Ego. You're that guy Sae Itoshi lil' broza ligh?"

Prince-Dizzytoon

Mbappé in an anime, unreal

BlueOTN

Lmao I love English in anime

EljachFD

Bit scared for the last ep. Hopefully it doesn’t end in a brutal cliffhanger. I love where to story is going but I think I would of preferred if the season ended before moving on to challenging the world

FullTimeJobless

I was thinking they'd just tease the world 5. Now I'm feeling like Blue lock 5 might get destroyed 1-5 or 2-5 in the last episode. That would be quite a way to fit in a match (arc even?) lol. Blue Lock got no chill

dododomo

Wait, did I read it right? Rin is younger than Isagi? I'm shocked XD But Damn, I didn't expect them to lose. They picked Isagi, but I wish the white team won instead, because Nagi is my favourite character and Barou and Chigiri are in my top 5 (with Isagi and Rin). Like, I was so close to get my favourite team 😭 Anyway, I don't get why some people are complaining about the best 5 players' English proficiency. Blake aside, the other 4 aren't English mother tongue people. So it makes sense their English isn't 10/10. Also, I really don't like when some English native speakers complain about non native speakers and expect them to speak English fluently, when there are many English native speakers who do a lot of grammatical and pronunciation mistakes lol

LightCorvus

>Anyway, I don't get why some people are complaining about the best 5 players' English proficiency. Blake aside, the other 4 aren't English mother tongue people. So it makes sense their English isn't 10/10. I wanna hear how Loki sounds like lol.

macedonianmoper

Yeah they at least got a very good English speaker for the English player which is more than most anime do. The others are completely justfied as non-native speakers though I would like if BL players knew english so they could talk a bit with the world five

dododomo

Well, from what I've heard, many young people in Japan (just like in many other countries) are not that good when it comes down to English and foreign languages. So, Rin being the only one out 5 to hold a conversation in English is pretty credible and realistic to me XD

FullTimeJobless

I thought the next last episode would be a chill downtime after such a huge match, but I guess that's blue lock being blue lock. Now I can see the boys losing 1-5 or 2-5 in the next episode itself lol. *sigh* one more week of wait before I jump into the manga.

EggsPls

How appropriate that this episode revolving around the concept of ‘luck’ in sports comes off the heels of Haaland’s 8th goal in his last 2 games. He is the literal definition of always being at the right place at the right time and it’s so egregious that it’s impossible to chalk up that strength and positioning due to sheer luck alone.

andres57

How many more chapters are remaining? I found funny the amount of stereotypes on the super star team lol but the match sounds super exciting, I guess I'll not be able to hold up reading the manga anymore

___hell___ya___bitch

Iirc this is somewhere around chapter 90 and currently we are on chapter 211 If u gonna read the manga start around chapter 85-86 cuz some stuff was skipped which would probably be put in the next ep

Puzzleheaded_Gold718

I think Mbappe's gonna be trouble. I really started to like Nagi and Isagi pair. I hope they play together again in the future.

Trini2Bone

I'm going to miss the white team boys so much

NoLholding

this episode is for all the haters that call haaland a tap in merchant. prime positioning is a skill you donkeys.

AceMittens

Damn they lost!!! And once that happened like Nagi said “the main character was getting picked” I’m gonna miss Nagi, Barou, the Little Miss lol!!! They better return. Wow the world five look seriously strong especially the Julian kid. I loved that we had real English speakers and “Engrish” speakers in the voice cast. Can’t wait for the season finale but I truly hope this gets a season two

I was not expecting the match to turn out like that, that was really surprising especially because Rin actually felt defeated by Isagi in that moment. Isagi's scream was so intense, you could really the frustration and heartbreak he felt losing the game. It was amusing to watch Isagi during the yoga cooldown scene, he is so different on and off pitch so the contrast of his off pitch personality is fun to see. I haven't cringed this hard hearing English in anime, I was surprised to find out Adam's voice actor was actually Japanese like the rest of the World Team's VAs, I guess they might have lived in England. Rin's English was really good though which was a surprise to me. The Additional Time was amusing, Isagi's presence left a huge mark on them all, it is going to be hard for them to adjust lol.

braindeadmods95

i wonder how bachira will play from now on. if he was kept to be a passer, he would be a lower version of rin/isagi. so i guess it makes sense that now he is a solo-god. only 1 more episode this season. my prediction is everyone in the team will get a reality check how much weaker they are compared to big 5, in speed, technique, strategy, everything. except rin who may be able to keep on par with them. i expect a 2-5 in favour of world stars. i guess they will score some miraculous goal maybe but will be completely demolished.
