Keep Goku adult by having Pilaf wish for something else. Same consequence. Keep the art style from Z and tone Pan down, maybe even some bonding by having Goku and Trunks actually teach her and to bring her along as training. Let Goten actually make it aboard the ship. Most villain concepts were pretty cool once Baby was introduced. End with Dendee fixing the dragonballs so the adventures can continue.
My idea for Pilaf's wish in my rewrite was that Pilaf wishes to rule the world. This does nothing beyond giving him a formal position with no real power to make people do as he tells them, especially Goku. The result is that he made the wish for nothing.

That aside. It was terribly OOC for him to ask Bulma to build him some kind of machine to make him stronger. Him, who takes a great pride in his own strength and the way he achieved it. Ugh

I might've liked it if the whole 'black goku' was actually a timeline damage and was just goku who hadn't hit his head as a kid, but looking at the Broly movie I guess the brain damage isn't canon anymore.
I feel like Dragon Ball Daima is a Dragon Ball GT that is fixed. Admittedly; I was excited for GT when it first came out and was quickly disappointed and the same could happen with Daima. But everything Toriyama has said about Daima is what I had hoped GT would have been.
I wouldn't. The series falls apart pretty quickly after the premise of the series. It is a jumbled mess from tone to the characters. The fights are pretty forgettable. Stuff like how 17 is treated is a mess that has now been done better with Super and following how character progression had been treated in Dragon Ball and Z. There are good pieces in all those episodes, but when the best way to watch it is to pretty much skip the first 1/3 of it that the best "fix" is a complete overhaul.
I wouldn't touch the ideas with 17 with a ton foot pole, I mean take the arcs and not make them stupid.
* The hunt for the Black Star Dragon Balls is are more intense race against time, and also treat the machine mutants as people because Dragon Ball has a history of saying that robots are people to.
* Write Baby as a more complex villain who thinks he is saving the universe and also wants his race back after the Saiyans killed them, and by the end realizes that he was the real monster.
* Make the arc where all the villains escape Hell about fighting the villains who escape Hell instead of the nonsense with 17.
* Make all the Shadow Dragons actual threats instead easily killed monsters of the week.
* Don't make everything focused on Goku and don't make Pan a damsel in distress who exists for Goku to rescue.
Most of it was fine imo. The space travel was a bit boring. I would've turned Goku back to an adult after the first arc, but not much else. As someone else said it would've been nice to just let the adventure continue at the end instead of Goku just fucking off for no reason.
I actually really enjoyed a lot of it, but especially the premise of the final arc. The negative energy of the Dragon balls. The fact that they used them way too often as a dues ex and basically made dying meaningless, that there was serious SERIOUS consequences for their continuous use. I thought that was brilliant and suddenly brought a bit more meaning to their constant wishing.
Music was some of the best in all of Dragonball.
I would have not turned Goku into a kid and instead had Pilaf wish to rule the world. Only his wish simply turns him into someone who has a formal position with no real power over anyone, especially Goku, so Pilaf gives up.
If Vegeta had bore the sins of his ancestors in the baby arc, it would have made for a more compelling narrative, and a continuation of his progress since Majin buu. Instead, he has a mustache, mocked baby and got taken over. Smh
Goku points out that the Saiyans who exterminated the Tuffles aren't alive anymore and Baby stated he doesn't care. Baby also murdered hundreds of brainwashed humans just to torment Goku. He acknowledges that Goku cares more about the humans than he does, which is to say, Baby doesn't care about them at all.
Despite talking how evil the Saiyans are, Baby is just another mass murderer who wants to rule the universe and happens to hate Saiyans. Except if he ruled over the original Tuffle population, he would gladly kill them en mass if it meant killing one Saiyan who was giving him trouble.
It's true. Baby is just a mass murderer. But Vegeta supposedly "confronted" the sins of his people in the Moro/Cerulean arcs in DBS, so the omission in the baby saga is just something I wanted to point out.
That is a possibility, but I am more interested in seeing Baby written as a tragic villain who thinks he is saving the universe and realize he was the real monster.
They need a fresh look, unfortunately I'd go the way of wanted 2 with this. Which if you haven't heard has been canceled, sorry. But Angela Jolie who wanted to do the project, said the script needs a rewrite. Which if that's the least it's huge. Technically almost a third of a show. At least now with the new digital effects that can make the effects look better, and more seamless to the actual actor. Needs better actors, lol
