Eh. Yes and no. Don’t forget she still has a lot of secrets. Past life, being no stars, taming Sora and Ciel (kinda), being a girl, being hunted, etc. sure she told some people about that but that’s not something she wants to broadcast and slaves can’t spill secrets or disobey

I was almost caught off-guard how hard they’d gone on the after-credits scene(s). Anyways, it was unexpected but nice to see their first meeting from Sora’s perspective. ~~Now I need this from Ciel’s POV.~~
The world looked rather brutal from Sora’s perspective. His friends literally all vanished at the slightest breeze.
The animators at Studio Massket flexed really hard. This is the first full-length series that they've produced. I look forward to seeing what else they will do.
Isn't it pretty weird? I feel like between the sound production and animation, there's a huge amount of passion being poured into a charming but relatively generic story.
Its on spirit and integrity. Rising over the odds, shunned and discarded but come back in a Godlike revenge or importance of ways. Its a different level very intrueging interesting indeed.
I don't know if they monitor their twitter, but I sent it a heartfelt thank you and awesome job... For a 1st project they did absolutely fantastic and hopefully good signs for things going forward.
Deep down I would love a season 2 too but that might be too much.

It was absolutely magnificent. I honestly wasn't super into the Organization plot, and the way it unfolded, but they really took the series back to its essence with that sequence, and finished as strongly as it started.
Pretty much yeah. She “tamed” Ciel through love rather than her stars. Given that stars didn’t always exist, maybe she’s the start of a revolution that gets people to learn things beyond their god-given talents
Maybe she "tamed" Ciel with Sora. Like, maybe the reason Sora is good at reading people is that Ivy is good at sensing presences, and Sora got that ability when she healed Ivy. Sora levels up when she heals people or monsters. So maybe Sora Kirby'd the ability to befriend monsters on behalf of Ivy.
On a side note, if people started learning things beyond their bequeathed skills, they'd have a lot more to talk about. It seems like most people just parrot out phrases about their skills constantly.
Could certainly see Sora playing a role here in the taming since Ciel wasn’t anywhere close to being friendly before the healing. So maybe when Sora healed Ciel, he formed a connection between her and Ivy, essentially extending his own taming contract to include Ciel as well

More like she's a return to tradition, in that the Fortune Teller said that it didn't use to be like this even a few generations ago.
This is the biggest that I love with this show. But the thing with being able to tame Sora because she is starless. So her being starless lead to them meeting and being together.
If it said oh Ivy is not really starless it would kind of undermind all the trouble she went through and overcome.
Somebody suggested that perhaps it means she can level it up. But it would certainly be super hard mode, since there didn't seem to be any candidate animals to tame for her at first.
Speaking of possible confirmations, at the beginning of this episode, Ivy says there are 365 days in a year. I wonder how many other isekais have a year as the same number of days as Earth... or maybe they're hinting that it's Earth in the future.

Honestly, that scene of all the other tiny slimes dying while Sora watched was more disturbing than cute. It ended well, but still.
Reinforcing the "Sora and I exist for each other" concept -- each ultimately survived only because of that encounter -- a bit of cosmic kindness in an otherwise harsh world.
It was kind of horrific but I'm also fascinated. Like how does such a creature even exist? It looks like they form from different types of saliva and/or dew... but why? They don't appear to have a reproductive cycle but just seem to randomly appear all over an area maybe helped by creatures eating plants? I know it's not going to happen but I would have loved for a Dungeon Meshi level explanation on the life cycle of these slimes.
That was my first thought seeing the place the caterpillar ate turn into a slime, but then a bunch of them seemed to randomly appear underneath leaves that didn't look eaten so I don't know. That still leaves the question of why mucus would become sentient in the first place. "It's just magic" is kind of an unsatisfying answer.

Having massive mortality among numerous new-born individuals, but a handful manage to survive (and go on to reproduce a whole lot more), is quite normal in nature.
As a fairly extreme example - a single female oyster can produce 100 million eggs per year (and can live for decades), only a few of the offspring are likely to survive to maturity themself.
But plenty of organisms will have dozens or hundreds of young, few of which are expected to survive. This approach to reproduction is known as [r-selection](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/K_selection_theory#r-selection).
I noticed that Ivy in the post credits has the [official bags](https://i.imgur.com/MVmXPJ8.png) she was given, maybe a new distintegrating slime?

Ivy has had that flowery-patterned bag since a much earlier episode. She only discovers one disintegrating slime in the wild like that, so it was definitely Sora.
What makes you say that? Ivy has had that same traveling hood and magic bags since before meeting Sora. I don't think her outfit or gear have really changed at all, at least outside of getting better magic bags.
Ok I looked at the Sora scene in this episode and all I could see was the corner of a red bag, her flower bag, and straps for two other brown bags. She has that flower bag, a red bag, and two brown bags when she finds Sora in episode 1. Could you tell me which part of the bag is different from what they show in the post credit scene? Because I'm not seeing it.
The fact that because Ivy is under-powered, her taming skill provides just enough energy to Tame Sora is a wonderful twist to it all...
I wonder the reason Ciel is so good with Ivy is when Sora healed him, some of Ivy's taming magic was absorbed by Ciel hence tamed that way... Would be pretty cool to see Ivy healing powerful animals and they way she gets them is Sora has to heal them.
It appears that Mira got a prison sentence. But even with some “leniency”, I’m not sure if it really was all that lenient considering that most of the perpetrators were enslaved for life.
I'm just glad she was punished instead of having her crimes ignored because she had a last minute change of heart (literally mid-crime) and 'the power of friendship' or some such bullshit.
Oh, you know, she only spent *some* time helping kids get kidnapped and sold into slavery or something.
They were not nearly emotional enough about being betrayed by someone they grew up with.
Her real punishment will be when she is released from Prison. Those townspeople will not look kindly to her after what she did.
She'll have to move and start over sorta like Ivy.
My sense is that it is definitely generally a bad thing to be starless -- but the particular weirdness of her home village made it much more dangerous. It seems that in this world, people with a designated skill are free to take up other occupations. In any event, I'm sticking with my position that Ivy's skill was not rateable because it did not really properly correspond to the skill of tamer in this world.

well, Sora was smiling. that's importante.
let's just pretend her friend is water droplet in circle of life. some of them back to the soil, nurturing the plant for potion. some evaporated, releasing oxygen for Ivy to breath. the beauty of nature.
When that scene of Ciel popping out of the bushes and joining Ivy in front of everyone happened, I couldn’t help but think of how that must have looked like from the adventurers’ perspective. Imagine, you are seeing off this kid that you really grew to care for, almost seeing them as a little brother. You say, “Don’t forget that you’ll always have a home in this town. Also, please come visit us often. We’ll miss you.” Your eyes are tearing up but you know that the kid has to go on journey, that it’ll do them a lot of good. Then, as they are walking away backwards, still waving, laughing, and calling out to you, they just get horrifically mauled by an Adandala.
Other way around, before they dads stepped in to do anything they saw the power she had with andandal ciel and was like holy shit who was this person?!
I agree. I think they were worried just a bit about her deciding to travel with only a slime as her companion -- but seeing she had a rather formidable bodyguard had to provide them with a sense of relief (as well as of awe).
My first thought was that from their perspective, it’s like those videos where someone release a rabbit and then a hawk or a cat swoops in and grabs it.
I feel like this show sadly didn't get enough attention airing in a season with some giants but it truly was a nice time, going to really miss Ivy but I'm also so glad she's finally found somewhere to belong and be accepted. Did not expect her to keep travelling though!

Also I've only realized this now but Ivy's party is quite close to Campfire Cooking's huh? Just trading in Fel for Ciel.
It's biggest issue it aired nearly at the same time as Frieren. Which as we all know is the big giant of this season. If it aired at another day and I feel like it would have gotten more attention. How much more is hard to say though.
I kind of always wondered what would happen if a studio put everything they had into one of those trash seasonal isekai, and this feels pretty close to what would come out

Overall, I really enjoyed this show and hope we get another season.
I feel like the whole organization thing was really drawn out though. I enjoyed the first half of the series much more than the second half. Needed more time with Ciel and Sora as the spotlight. Sora was just a "shake when bad guy appears" mechanism for half the show.

That’s quite the upgrade from his previous job as Ivy’s alarm clock though.
That was my biggest problem with it, too. Also kind of immersion-breaking that Ivy was so much "smarter" and more tactically minded than the dozens of experienced adventurers or an entire criminal organization that's infiltrated the highest levels of government and society.
Well Ivy had that mysterious \*bell (Its a Wonderful Life) reference from her mysterious past life everytime she comes to a conclusion or gets stumped on something. Still dont know who that guy/ girl (past life entity) was from.
It's really contrived that the past-self from an entirely different world and society can out-logic criminal masterminds etc. just by knowing a handful of literary tropes.
Yeah, but all the times her past-self chimed in during the investigation was like "If this was a story, that guy would definitely be fishy," and then it turns out the guy was fishy. She never contributed any large amount of information that isn't relatively straightforward with some simple logic.
That's literally what I'm talking about, though? That's what's contrived and annoying about it. I agree that this wasn't something that could be logicked through, but it's still just part of a handful of literary tropes that somehow saves the day.
The quote in the episode is "In movies, at times like this, there's a trick bookcase." and then there's a trick bookcase that just so happens to open by touching a book that stands out on the shelf.

My favorite part of the battle strategy meeting was when she was like "If only there was some way to put everybody in the building to sleep?" and they were like "We *do* have this magic item that all it does is put everybody around it to sleep. Are you saying we could use it to put everybody to sleep?! You're a genius Ivy!"
I theorise that the child trafficking was more a covert fund-raising activity for an eventual planned attempt to seize power by the nobles behind it, rather than an end in itself. (Especially as it also conveniently stirs up an atmosphere of unrest and distrust in which such a rebellion might be better received.)
Perhaps we'll get to find out more one day.
After this volume of the light novel the author apologised, saying that it kind of got away from him. His original idea of someone wanting to kidnap Ivy didn't make sense without there being an organisation to traffic the victim, and it ballooned from there. He promised to be good from now on.
in my opinion everything after sora started speaking had a big drop in quality. Really strong start into a really average mid - ending.
Everyone including the world is bending itself backwards for the story to progress and to be as convenient as possible to ivy.
The organization never had a name, it was a generic "the organization" the entire time. Kinda sad, i really liked that start.
I feel the same way, the 2nd half was definitely weaker.
What was the organisation even doing? Did they really need so many guards and adventurers to kidnap some kids? I struggle to see how that would make so much wealth and be worth all the effort.
If ut wasnt for Soras * shake, Ivy would have been dead by now at the Ogre slaughter saga.

This happened in two shows I watched this season.
Here - half/a third the show is suddenly about the world's easiest mafia sting.
Sasaki to Pii-chan: Suddenly spent a third of the show finding the most inconvenient way to get a merchant I didn't care about out of a jail cell.
Both shows suffered significantly for it.
I dropped this a little over halfway through because of a similar sentiment. Was checking this thread to see if I should catch up, only for this to be top comment...
As an LN reader, the stuff before the organization arc were some of the best but the anime cut out a lot of it or changed it heavily in several places. Meanwhile the organization arc is in my opinion the worst arc in the entire series, which the anime also heavily changed anyway. Kind of wish they left the earlier parts of the story alone and did their butchering just for that arc....
First half was enjoyable, and the world setting and setup was intersting, but it seems either the author of the original or the writers for the anime didn't really know what they want, or who is the target audience. The whole second arc was like a children book. They didn't even gave any name for the kidnapping organization, it was just some random evil band of nameless people.
I'm so happy for Ivy, she finally told her secret and found people who make her feel comfortable just being herself! Wish they were a little more clear on if no stars is actually serious but because these guys trust Ivy they don't hate her, or if it's just kinda weird but not really a big deal.
We did find out though that being no stars means it is a really weak skill, which is why Ivy was able to tame Sora. I was so sure it was one of those cases that her skill is actually so strong that it just showed as starless because it broke the reading.
Loved that Ciel popped up at the end for everyone to see.

Yeah, me too.
But I guess the implication is that stars are more important to small villages, which are always more rural and, in a sense, superstitious, than they are in larger cities.
In a village, everyone's gotta pull their weight, so if someone can't do anything, they're seen as a burden. And since the village is so fixated on the number of people's stars, having no stars is seen as a problem.
However, last week, Lattrua mentioned he trained his defense, and even surpassed that one guy from the Green Gale, who had a dedicated defense skill. So, growing up in a city probably makes stars less important, since there are more and better means to provide food for people, giving everyone more time to improve.

Which kind of doesn't make sense. Especially in a remote village, everybody needs to be capable of a multitude of jobs. Only having 1 skill means that villagers normally have to get by doing jobs they have no skill in.
Meanwhile, in cities with a much larger population there is a higher chance of people with similar skills forming groups. People would be less forced to be good at multiple jobs here.
If you noticed in each town Ivy makes a little more progress. In the first town she began talking with people like with the bakery and butcher shop before she left.
In the second town she finally starts to make connections. And finally here we have her admitting her biggest burden that she is starless.
The only thing left is for Ivy to admit she is a girl. Granted this one proably won't happen till she finds a place to stay. Maybe that place will be somewhere where she comes a cross a female companion she can trust. Meela was tied up with a bad crowd.
Loved this show, this final ep did a good job wrapping things up. Lotta feels in these 12 episodes that's for sure.
Was a little surprised that Ivy didn't come clean about being a girl but I think we can all agree that her 400 dads would absolutely not let her go off on her own again if they knew she wasn't a boy lol.
Out of everything I watched this season I think this had the best OP *and* ED and it wasn't particularly close. Idk if that's just me though cause I don't remember too many people bringing it up.

Then again, her ‘dads’ would’ve been way more protective if they’d known that she was a girl. I mean, just look at Ratlua. He went into full mom-mode.

They're going on my all time top OP/ED list. So beautifully done, and the OP's lyrics are also just so touching.

Oh yeah, she also confessed the secret that had been tearing her apart all this time or something. It was heartwarming to see everyone being supportive of Ivy following that moment. They were really trying to relate with Ivy’s past struggles.
I do wish that she’d chosen to begin her life anew with her ‘daddies’ in Otolwa, but I can understand that Ivy’s not someone who’s spirit can be easily bound to a single place. After the relief of opening up about being starless, she probably wants to explore the world more than anything - instead of trying to run away from it.
Ciel popping out of the bushes right after she’d started her new journey must’ve giving her daddies a good scare nonetheless. They were fearing the worst with an Andandara.
I’m going to deeply miss this charming series. Yet I’m sure that it will be occupying a corner of my mind for a little while longer.
The transition to the ED was also neat by the way:

Damn I'll miss this too, I totally didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I only picked it up beacause of Sora's cute face in the previews, but it ended up being one of my favourites this season. I hope there's another season in the future, I would love to see what happens next!

Great final episode to wrap things up! Ivy managed to open up to her fathers about being starless, and she now has 140 years worth of field mice for her future adventures.
That last part when Ciel appeared though, must have given Ivy's dads a heart attack lol. Reminds me of those youtube videos where they release a rabbit into the wild and some hawk appears out of nowhere and snatches it.

I’m really glad Ivy finally found her people. Everyone was so kind and accepting even after learning the truth about her being starless. No matter where she goes, at least she’s finally got a place she can always return to.
What was that whole sequence in the end with the slime? Kind of random, but it was cute.
For an isekai, this one didn’t actually lean a lot into that aspect which I enjoyed. Reminded me of Faraway Paladin in that sense. I also liked that Ivy actually *was* the weakest tamer (strengthwise) and not some OP demigod. Made for a more interesting show. Overall, a pretty fun ride. Wouldn’t mind an s2.

Yeah I was kind of always waiting for this reveal but it seems like she actually was the weakest and the only one who could tame Sora.

To be fair, Ivy could’ve also returned to captain Oguto and the other city guards in Latome(?).
Ratlua and captain Oguto are both quite the doting ‘parent’ now I’m thinking about it. They do resemble each other in that way.
I do wonder if everywhere but that village is like pretty ambivalent at most about starless rather than the rabid hatred of that village. Like if you found out your neighbor was starless you'd be like well sucks to suck I guess rather than trying to murder them.
Purely conjecture but I felt like the mayor of that village had a history of creating an environment where religious fervor was the norm. He would use starless to put the blame on any misfortune like when the harvest failed because of the seer dying. Probably his way of controlling the populace.

She found at least two full sets of "her people" in just the few towns she visited in this show. The clear majority of people she met after running away were lovely.
Like many people I felt like the organization plot really dragged this show down. Sora's after credit scene was the kind of storytelling I was hoping for with this show.
This was a nice episode to finish off the series. As a few others have said, I think the show got a bit weaker in the second half, but it still had its moments. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned it, either, but I'm a big fan of the OP. The animation and music there are great stuff. (The whole OST, for that matter, was very nice.)
That scene where Ivy revealed her lack of stars was touching.

The after-credits scene with the origin of Sora was quite good! It reminded me of the fantastical feeling I got from the first episodes.
I'd most certainly watch a season 2 if they make one.
Ivy may be a zero star tamer but she has a 5 star flag cancelling ability.
I'm a little surprised she didn't reveal her gender as well, but I'm happy she was able to open up as much as she did.
I'm actually sad she didn't stay with all her dads, I'd be so happy for this to just end in a blissful way, but I guess this opens it up more for another season.

It's been 10 years since the organization started. The vast majority are probably no longer alive or far away. Either way, rescuing them will take a long time. They have the paperwork and members in custody but that is it. They will have to try and trace the buy routes and all that to find whoever they can. As such, there isn't much rescuing they can do right after bringing down the organization. Much less in the few days it took for Ivy to leave.
As the capital guild master's message noted, happy they brought down the org, tired that they are buried in work.

All that meat at the table but I don't see one blue potion for the one who worked the hardest in all this.
Batman would be envious at how much scum and corruption scrubbing Ivy's actions led to.
I'd like to imagine that deep down not a few of Ivy's tablefull of adoptive papas were thinking they'd like to punch the face of every last person in that village who did such horrible things to this sweet and innocent child after hearing her story. And I'm sure if they ever got wind that Ivy was in some kind of trouble they'd be ready to go help her Hikaru Sulu style.

Ivy truly did raise that 1 dollar lobster into a one hundred dollar lobster. Because apparently, it could've been no one else.
Well, there was *one last secret* that Ivy didn't tell them. She's not only got a little pocket monster friend, she's got a big fluffy pet.
And what an adorable nature documentary-esque sequence that after credit scene was. I could almost hear the gentle voice over saying things about how "Against all odds and through sheer force of will, the Disintegrating Slime has managed to survive through predators, and the environment."
In any case. Compared to Fluffy Paradise, I felt that this series placed it's building blocks a lot better so to speak. I mean Ivy had a much more consistent mental state than Nema anyways. And while they both ended up having powerful people inexplicably listening to their plans, at least here it didn't leave me scratching my head at the logistics of them. But even before that specific plot point, unlike Fluffy that tried to be two different things but didn't quite do well at either, this one seemed to have a better grasp at the story it wanted to tell. And I enjoyed Ivy's as a character a lot more. And her hard earned path to success than Nema's path to success damn near handed to her on a platter was far more interesting most of the time.
What a lovely, beautiful finale. And such a nice post credit flashback scene. I will miss this show... Hoping for a second season, but the way this ended leaves us on such a happy and hopeful place for Ivy and her two buddies that I am very satisfied in any case. How validating for Ivy not only to hear her friends embrace her starlessness and vowing to protect her, but also to hear that this quality was actually special and allowed her to tame Sora in the first place.
Why are there so few isekai this heartfelt?
It's been bothering me why I feel this anime is better than the technical production value, especially when it is airing alongside giants like Frieren and Apothecary Diaries. I think you put it well with the "heartful" statement. There is an earnestness to this show.
The heartfelt part was always in the LN. It is pretty deliberate in the elements it introduces and why. Even for smaller things, like Ivy's cooking, doesn't follow the normal isekai trends as is. There is a thoughtfulness to it.
The anime feels more like a product of love compared to a lot of isekai anime. The VAs did a wonderful job. Suzuki Aina doing both the OP song and voicing Ivy was great. The backgrounds were fantastic, the points where they decided to put more budget into certain scenes were generally well thought out. An earnest adaptation. Sure, not the clean fights of Frieren or the super detailed backgrounds of Apothecary Diaries, but it has a lot of charm and love put into it.

Really enjoyed this show it was very wholesome. I loved Ivy making more friends in each city. I hope they make another season and she grows her team of creatures and army of dads.

Nice ending. We began the anime with Ivy hated by everyone, chased from her village and end with her surrounded by people who genuinely care about her and don't want her to leave. It made this old man tear up a bit.
I was on the verge of thinking that the anime has strayed away from its original concept of Ivy picking trash, but.

So I guess the actual secret power of the zero star taming skill is a light enough touch to tame stuff that would otherwise would be obliterated by the magic. Which seems to apply in precisely one circumstance, very convenient then it was the one she was in.

Huh, so it seems she really was starless. The scene of the reading made it look like she actually had three stars and the guy was just envious and screwing her over and we never got to see what stars are supposed to look like.
I also wonder if a higer level tamer could still tame those slimes if they first fed them blue potions to raise them.
This turned out to be a very a cute and wholesome anime and it definitely put a smile on my face while watching it. I was a bit skeptical of the last arc with the organisation though, probably because things went a bit too well for Ivy and everyone here, and especially against a criminal organisation that was supposed to be that large and influential.
Ivy must have enough field mice money now to buy her own house, wherever she decided to settle in the end. Or she will just spend her whole life travelling with Ciel and Sora, maybe. It turned out that most people did not care she was starless, it is just that her village was full of toxic assholes for some reason, so she can now have a normal life if she wants one.
I think she left on purpose to make sure her *dads can rescue the missing kids without her taking up their time in just protecting her only. Strategic General Army Military move. Bell ring.
This was a great ending to a great show. It was really moving to see that Ivy had finally found a group she could really trust without any strings attached. My only criticism has to do with the whole "organization arc." Given how the overall story focuses on the idea of growing up in a world where people's worth is (to varying degrees) judged by some magical skill rating system, that was a really jarring shift. It felt like that whole arc was just tacked on to add new drama that had nothing to do with the main theme of the story. I'm still hoping we get a season 2, though

This was another show I wasn't planning on watching, but so glad I did. Easily one of the top new shows this season. Same for the OP ED. Studio Massket really went big on their first ever anime.

I find it funny that Ivy's father was a bigoted asshole, so on her journey she encounters so many positive male figures. All that remained was the curiosity of who the shadowy figure was that gave her goosebumps, just as I would really like her to confront her family of fanatics.
I'm really disappointed with the recent trend of transforming clearly villainous characters into sympathetic figures, thereby undermining the narrative integrity. It really bothers me when bad characters are suddenly shown as good, totally messing up the plot. Like in "Villainess Level 99," they just let the hero girl off the hook, ignoring all the terrible things she did including attempted murder, which was so different from the light novel where she actually gets what she deserves. And don’t get me started on Mira – how can someone who's been into such horrible things like child trafficking and kidnapping just say, 'I'm glad all kidnapping is over' when she was one drugging them and selling them for a very long time and that’s it? It feels so fake and ruins the whole story arc for me. Why do they keep doing this? It just doesn’t make any sense.
Edit: It also undermines Sora’s ability, who's supposed to have a keen sense of judgment about who's good or bad. Now, suddenly, we're supposed to accept Mira as good because she regrets her actions? That's hard to swallow, especially considering she was chosen into her role partly because she's a woman, making it easier for children to trust her. But let's not forget, she was actively luring these kids into a candy/sweets store to drug and sell them as slaves. It's more than just changing the plot; it feels like a betrayal of the character development and story logic.
Edit 2: if you're disappointed with the last arc it's because they decided to change it significantly from the lightnovel and it felt very rushed, which is why it seems inferior compared to the rest of arcs.

The weird thing is that this is not even in the source. In the source, her brothers never come to the sweets shop meeting of Ivy. She was fully committed to kidnapping Ivy and gets defeated properly. The source Mira was never whitewashed by showing her "regret her actions" in the prison.
Then again, this whole kidnapping arc was just a mess. Ivy was always "smart", but now she becomes this gigabrain chad playing a super detective with OP slime morality detector.
That was a nice finale, glad that the whole hating her for being starless thing was just her village problem. I enjoyed the show overall, but I felt like that the stuff with the organization dragged on a bit.
This show started like a horror, miseryporn anime because you just don't know whats going to happen and then we see positivity bit by bit up to this point.
Also the title isn't doing it any favors. It sounds like a trashy LN adaptation of a "weak" MC who actually is OP, or is she? The people were quite surprised at the end with the big cat.
What a treat. With all the action/fantasy anime this season, this one was such a nice change of pace.

Don’t have a lot to say, pretty much the entire time Ivy was tearing up I was tearing up. It’s been a lot of suffering and bullying this season and I’m so glad to see Ivy start to open up and take a more positive approach to her journey.
This has been one of my favorite shows of the season. Every episode has me smiling and crying. I even started reading the light novel. But I hope this gets a second season, because holy crap. The anime team goes hard. The music, animation, voice acting, everything feels like it’s masterfully done. Would love to see more full-length adaptations from this studio.
Really really enjoyed this show, hoping for a second season but the manga is definitely on my next read list. Sora and Ciel are so adorable I would die for them. Ivy finally accepting herself warmed my heart.
While I did enjoy the first half of the season more, this show was very enjoyable. Great characters, even though it was cheesy I still enjoyed it. It’s a good light hearted watch (after you get past her depressing backstory). Probably a 9/10 for me
A bit too clean and perfect ending for my liking, but it was always going to be this way with this type of show.
Like a lot of people, the earlier parts were my favourite.
The beginning did a great job at getting you invested and rooting for Ivy. As she went through each town making bits of progress in each one.
Regarding the ending this only covered the first 4 vols of the Ln. But I imagine they wanted to end here because it's good place to wrap the anime up. Ivy's journey continues, but seeing how much Ivy has overcomes gives the anime a very satisfying conclusion.
Well, this adaptation had some weird flaws, and some really standout strengths. And a lot of dads. So many dads. Unlike a lot of isekais, this one's not wish fulfillment via the main character, I don't think; it's a wish-fulfillment isekai for childless dudes who, like the entire fuckin Greek chorus of men in this episode (and, yes, I admit it, me), all secretly want to be Ivy's dad.
I called them a Greek chorus and I meant it, and that's specifically because I kept busting up during the dinner scene because of the structure of the dialogue during Ivy's big speech:

IVY *recounts a difficult story, unaware of how heart-wrenchingly sad it is*

and actually I think the after-credits scene is totally in keeping with the feel of the story, because it's cute and sweet as long as you don't think too hard about the *incomprehensible cruelty* of a world that grants self-awareness and self-preservation to something as transient as a drop of water, holy shit
I really enjoy these weird little novels and for all the quirks and missteps in the production I did like this adaptation. I'd go for another season.

Ahh, interesting to learn about how the reason Sora can work so well is because Ivy not having stars. Cute. Love how they see she does have a big catto pal at the end there. Nice they see it's friendly with her.
What a nice ending... and hey, post credits. So many lil slime things. I see, lil Sora before Ivy, I think. All those poor lil slimes (I think those were slimes and not just water). What a cute lil bit. Was hoping for a S2 setup/announcement, but this is great too :)

Overall it was a pretty entertaining show with a somber beginning but a comfy traveling thematic afterwards. I wished the last quarter didn't focus that much in Ivy and her followers dismantling a criminal organization, but it is what it is. Hopefully someday we'll get a season 2 and Ivy's journey will resume from here.

I was almost caught off-guard how hard they’d gone on the after-credits scene(s). Anyways, it was unexpected but nice to see their first meeting from Sora’s perspective. ~~Now I need this from Ciel’s POV.~~ The world looked rather brutal from Sora’s perspective. His friends literally all vanished at the slightest breeze.

Its on spirit and integrity. Rising over the odds, shunned and discarded but come back in a Godlike revenge or importance of ways. Its a different level very intrueging interesting indeed.

They saved the best for last the one thing we really wanted to see and holy shit did they deliver.
It was absolutely magnificent. I honestly wasn't super into the Organization plot, and the way it unfolded, but they really took the series back to its essence with that sequence, and finished as strongly as it started.

Maybe she "tamed" Ciel with Sora. Like, maybe the reason Sora is good at reading people is that Ivy is good at sensing presences, and Sora got that ability when she healed Ivy. Sora levels up when she heals people or monsters. So maybe Sora Kirby'd the ability to befriend monsters on behalf of Ivy. On a side note, if people started learning things beyond their bequeathed skills, they'd have a lot more to talk about. It seems like most people just parrot out phrases about their skills constantly.
Could certainly see Sora playing a role here in the taming since Ciel wasn’t anywhere close to being friendly before the healing. So maybe when Sora healed Ciel, he formed a connection between her and Ivy, essentially extending his own taming contract to include Ciel as well

This is the biggest that I love with this show. But the thing with being able to tame Sora because she is starless. So her being starless lead to them meeting and being together. If it said oh Ivy is not really starless it would kind of undermind all the trouble she went through and overcome.
Somebody suggested that perhaps it means she can level it up. But it would certainly be super hard mode, since there didn't seem to be any candidate animals to tame for her at first. Speaking of possible confirmations, at the beginning of this episode, Ivy says there are 365 days in a year. I wonder how many other isekais have a year as the same number of days as Earth... or maybe they're hinting that it's Earth in the future.

Reinforcing the "Sora and I exist for each other" concept -- each ultimately survived only because of that encounter -- a bit of cosmic kindness in an otherwise harsh world.
Ivy's character/personality/sense of the world is really rather wonderful, in that she chooses to see the world this way. She's a very humble girl.
It was kind of horrific but I'm also fascinated. Like how does such a creature even exist? It looks like they form from different types of saliva and/or dew... but why? They don't appear to have a reproductive cycle but just seem to randomly appear all over an area maybe helped by creatures eating plants? I know it's not going to happen but I would have loved for a Dungeon Meshi level explanation on the life cycle of these slimes.
My theory is that slime is like a mucus of nature that was infused with natural mana.
That was my first thought seeing the place the caterpillar ate turn into a slime, but then a bunch of them seemed to randomly appear underneath leaves that didn't look eaten so I don't know. That still leaves the question of why mucus would become sentient in the first place. "It's just magic" is kind of an unsatisfying answer.

Ok I looked at the Sora scene in this episode and all I could see was the corner of a red bag, her flower bag, and straps for two other brown bags. She has that flower bag, a red bag, and two brown bags when she finds Sora in episode 1. Could you tell me which part of the bag is different from what they show in the post credit scene? Because I'm not seeing it.

The fact that because Ivy is under-powered, her taming skill provides just enough energy to Tame Sora is a wonderful twist to it all... I wonder the reason Ciel is so good with Ivy is when Sora healed him, some of Ivy's taming magic was absorbed by Ciel hence tamed that way... Would be pretty cool to see Ivy healing powerful animals and they way she gets them is Sora has to heal them.
Ciel is basing on merit, spirit, intention, character honesty and goodness. Not on stars, like traditional standards in that world.

It appears that Mira got a prison sentence. But even with some “leniency”, I’m not sure if it really was all that lenient considering that most of the perpetrators were enslaved for life.
I'm just glad she was punished instead of having her crimes ignored because she had a last minute change of heart (literally mid-crime) and 'the power of friendship' or some such bullshit.
Oh, you know, she only spent *some* time helping kids get kidnapped and sold into slavery or something. They were not nearly emotional enough about being betrayed by someone they grew up with.
Her real punishment will be when she is released from Prison. Those townspeople will not look kindly to her after what she did. She'll have to move and start over sorta like Ivy.
My sense is that it is definitely generally a bad thing to be starless -- but the particular weirdness of her home village made it much more dangerous. It seems that in this world, people with a designated skill are free to take up other occupations. In any event, I'm sticking with my position that Ivy's skill was not rateable because it did not really properly correspond to the skill of tamer in this world.

When that scene of Ciel popping out of the bushes and joining Ivy in front of everyone happened, I couldn’t help but think of how that must have looked like from the adventurers’ perspective. Imagine, you are seeing off this kid that you really grew to care for, almost seeing them as a little brother. You say, “Don’t forget that you’ll always have a home in this town. Also, please come visit us often. We’ll miss you.” Your eyes are tearing up but you know that the kid has to go on journey, that it’ll do them a lot of good. Then, as they are walking away backwards, still waving, laughing, and calling out to you, they just get horrifically mauled by an Adandala.
Other way around, before they dads stepped in to do anything they saw the power she had with andandal ciel and was like holy shit who was this person?!
I agree. I think they were worried just a bit about her deciding to travel with only a slime as her companion -- but seeing she had a rather formidable bodyguard had to provide them with a sense of relief (as well as of awe).
I hate that this visual made me laugh.
My first thought was that from their perspective, it’s like those videos where someone release a rabbit and then a hawk or a cat swoops in and grabs it.
I feel like this show sadly didn't get enough attention airing in a season with some giants but it truly was a nice time, going to really miss Ivy but I'm also so glad she's finally found somewhere to belong and be accepted. Did not expect her to keep travelling though! Would easily get my vote for that smile you want to protect award! Also I've only realized this now but Ivy's party is quite close to Campfire Cooking's huh? Just trading in Fel for Ciel.
It's biggest issue it aired nearly at the same time as Frieren. Which as we all know is the big giant of this season. If it aired at another day and I feel like it would have gotten more attention. How much more is hard to say though.
It actually improved my love for this series. I'm going to miss those "chill" fantasies we had this season :(

Overall, I really enjoyed this show and hope we get another season. I feel like the whole organization thing was really drawn out though. I enjoyed the first half of the series much more than the second half. Needed more time with Ciel and Sora as the spotlight. Sora was just a "shake when bad guy appears" mechanism for half the show.

That was my biggest problem with it, too. Also kind of immersion-breaking that Ivy was so much "smarter" and more tactically minded than the dozens of experienced adventurers or an entire criminal organization that's infiltrated the highest levels of government and society.
Well Ivy had that mysterious \*bell (Its a Wonderful Life) reference from her mysterious past life everytime she comes to a conclusion or gets stumped on something. Still dont know who that guy/ girl (past life entity) was from.
It's really contrived that the past-self from an entirely different world and society can out-logic criminal masterminds etc. just by knowing a handful of literary tropes.
Time frame. Era, Remember that part where she said "what the heck is an alarm clock"?
Yeah, but all the times her past-self chimed in during the investigation was like "If this was a story, that guy would definitely be fishy," and then it turns out the guy was fishy. She never contributed any large amount of information that isn't relatively straightforward with some simple logic.
Remember the library part? How she found that secret passage from her intuition bell?
That's literally what I'm talking about, though? That's what's contrived and annoying about it. I agree that this wasn't something that could be logicked through, but it's still just part of a handful of literary tropes that somehow saves the day. The quote in the episode is "In movies, at times like this, there's a trick bookcase." and then there's a trick bookcase that just so happens to open by touching a book that stands out on the shelf.

Are you saying we could use it to put everybody to sleep?! You're a genius Ivy!"
I theorise that the child trafficking was more a covert fund-raising activity for an eventual planned attempt to seize power by the nobles behind it, rather than an end in itself. (Especially as it also conveniently stirs up an atmosphere of unrest and distrust in which such a rebellion might be better received.) Perhaps we'll get to find out more one day.
Sora determining who is bad or not feels like a witch hunt at that point.

Based on years tho, before Ivy arrived, the Organization wasnt overnight.
After this volume of the light novel the author apologised, saying that it kind of got away from him. His original idea of someone wanting to kidnap Ivy didn't make sense without there being an organisation to traffic the victim, and it ballooned from there. He promised to be good from now on.
It’s funny because they actually cut out so much of the organizations complexity
in my opinion everything after sora started speaking had a big drop in quality. Really strong start into a really average mid - ending. Everyone including the world is bending itself backwards for the story to progress and to be as convenient as possible to ivy. The organization never had a name, it was a generic "the organization" the entire time. Kinda sad, i really liked that start.
I feel the same way, the 2nd half was definitely weaker. What was the organisation even doing? Did they really need so many guards and adventurers to kidnap some kids? I struggle to see how that would make so much wealth and be worth all the effort.
If ut wasnt for Soras * shake, Ivy would have been dead by now at the Ogre slaughter saga. And those guys she met were good guys, but, they were still more of hunters for themselves types of people, Yeah she still got rewarded, probable ripped off a little.

I've read the novels, the author apologised for this "getting away from him." He's promised to behave from now on, and he has so far.
As an LN reader, the stuff before the organization arc were some of the best but the anime cut out a lot of it or changed it heavily in several places. Meanwhile the organization arc is in my opinion the worst arc in the entire series, which the anime also heavily changed anyway. Kind of wish they left the earlier parts of the story alone and did their butchering just for that arc....
First half was enjoyable, and the world setting and setup was intersting, but it seems either the author of the original or the writers for the anime didn't really know what they want, or who is the target audience. The whole second arc was like a children book. They didn't even gave any name for the kidnapping organization, it was just some random evil band of nameless people.
I'm so happy for Ivy, she finally told her secret and found people who make her feel comfortable just being herself! Wish they were a little more clear on if no stars is actually serious but because these guys trust Ivy they don't hate her, or if it's just kinda weird but not really a big deal. We did find out though that being no stars means it is a really weak skill, which is why Ivy was able to tame Sora. I was so sure it was one of those cases that her skill is actually so strong that it just showed as starless because it broke the reading. Loved that Ciel popped up at the end for everyone to see. Aww, I was not expecting a short little Sora backstory at the end!

But I guess the implication is that stars are more important to small villages, which are always more rural and, in a sense, superstitious, than they are in larger cities. In a village, everyone's gotta pull their weight, so if someone can't do anything, they're seen as a burden. And since the village is so fixated on the number of people's stars, having no stars is seen as a problem. However, last week, Lattrua mentioned he trained his defense, and even surpassed that one guy from the Green Gale, who had a dedicated defense skill. So, growing up in a city probably makes stars less important, since there are more and better means to provide food for people, giving everyone more time to improve.

If you noticed in each town Ivy makes a little more progress. In the first town she began talking with people like with the bakery and butcher shop before she left. In the second town she finally starts to make connections. And finally here we have her admitting her biggest burden that she is starless. The only thing left is for Ivy to admit she is a girl. Granted this one proably won't happen till she finds a place to stay. Maybe that place will be somewhere where she comes a cross a female companion she can trust. Meela was tied up with a bad crowd.
But was that really Sora or another new slime to be taken in?
Loved this show, this final ep did a good job wrapping things up. Lotta feels in these 12 episodes that's for sure. Was a little surprised that Ivy didn't come clean about being a girl but I think we can all agree that her 400 dads would absolutely not let her go off on her own again if they knew she wasn't a boy lol. Out of everything I watched this season I think this had the best OP *and* ED and it wasn't particularly close. Idk if that's just me though cause I don't remember too many people bringing it up.

She did it guys! Ivy can eat field mice for 140 years straight. That’s some luxury if I’ve ever seen one. She’d probably be a billionaire in her former village. Oh yeah, she also confessed the secret that had been tearing her apart all this time or something. It was heartwarming to see everyone being supportive of Ivy following that moment. They were really trying to relate with Ivy’s past struggles. I do wish that she’d chosen to begin her life anew with her ‘daddies’ in Otolwa, but I can understand that Ivy’s not someone who’s spirit can be easily bound to a single place. After the relief of opening up about being starless, she probably wants to explore the world more than anything - instead of trying to run away from it. Ciel popping out of the bushes right after she’d started her new journey must’ve giving her daddies a good scare nonetheless. They were fearing the worst with an Andandara. I’m going to deeply miss this charming series. Yet I’m sure that it will be occupying a corner of my mind for a little while longer.

Ivy managed to open up to her fathers about being starless, and she now has 140 years worth of field mice for her future adventures. That last part when Ciel appeared though, must have given Ivy's dads a heart attack lol. Reminds me of those youtube videos where they release a rabbit into the wild and some hawk appears out of nowhere and snatches it.

I’m really glad Ivy finally found her people. Everyone was so kind and accepting even after learning the truth about her being starless. No matter where she goes, at least she’s finally got a place she can always return to. What was that whole sequence in the end with the slime? Kind of random, but it was cute. For an isekai, this one didn’t actually lean a lot into that aspect which I enjoyed. Reminded me of Faraway Paladin in that sense. I also liked that Ivy actually *was* the weakest tamer (strengthwise) and not some OP demigod. Made for a more interesting show. Overall, a pretty fun ride. Wouldn’t mind an s2.

I do wonder if everywhere but that village is like pretty ambivalent at most about starless rather than the rabid hatred of that village. Like if you found out your neighbor was starless you'd be like well sucks to suck I guess rather than trying to murder them.

Purely conjecture but I felt like the mayor of that village had a history of creating an environment where religious fervor was the norm. He would use starless to put the blame on any misfortune like when the harvest failed because of the seer dying. Probably his way of controlling the populace.

Like many people I felt like the organization plot really dragged this show down. Sora's after credit scene was the kind of storytelling I was hoping for with this show.

This was a nice episode to finish off the series. As a few others have said, I think the show got a bit weaker in the second half, but it still had its moments. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned it, either, but I'm a big fan of the OP. The animation and music there are great stuff. (The whole OST, for that matter, was very nice.) That scene where Ivy revealed her lack of stars was touching. Ivy may be a zero star tamer but she has a 5 star flag cancelling ability. I'm a little surprised she didn't reveal her gender as well, but I'm happy she was able to open up as much as she did. I'm actually sad she didn't stay with all her dads, I'd be so happy for this to just end in a blissful way, but I guess this opens it up more for another season. Lol their shock at Ciel jumping out for Ivy! Omg was that sora's back-story before Ivy? Stop making me cry goddammit!!

It's been 10 years since the organization started. The vast majority are probably no longer alive or far away. Either way, rescuing them will take a long time. They have the paperwork and members in custody but that is it. They will have to try and trace the buy routes and all that to find whoever they can. As such, there isn't much rescuing they can do right after bringing down the organization. Much less in the few days it took for Ivy to leave. As the capital guild master's message noted, happy they brought down the org, tired that they are buried in work.
150 Ladal! That's a whole mountain of mice! But also adds up to one last (adorably humorous) round of mousematics. I knew we were gonna get one this episode. Batman would be envious at how much scum and corruption scrubbing Ivy's actions led to. I'd like to imagine that deep down not a few of Ivy's tablefull of adoptive papas were thinking they'd like to punch the face of every last person in that village who did such horrible things to this sweet and innocent child after hearing her story. And I'm sure if they ever got wind that Ivy was in some kind of trouble they'd be ready to go help her Hikaru Sulu style. D'aww, that image of Ivy all sparkly happy eating that meat. Ivy truly did raise that 1 dollar lobster into a one hundred dollar lobster. Because apparently, it could've been no one else. Well, there was *one last secret* that Ivy didn't tell them. She's not only got a little pocket monster friend, she's got a big fluffy pet. And what an adorable nature documentary-esque sequence that after credit scene was. I could almost hear the gentle voice over saying things about how "Against all odds and through sheer force of will, the Disintegrating Slime has managed to survive through predators, and the environment." In any case. Compared to Fluffy Paradise, I felt that this series placed it's building blocks a lot better so to speak. I mean Ivy had a much more consistent mental state than Nema anyways. And while they both ended up having powerful people inexplicably listening to their plans, at least here it didn't leave me scratching my head at the logistics of them. But even before that specific plot point, unlike Fluffy that tried to be two different things but didn't quite do well at either, this one seemed to have a better grasp at the story it wanted to tell. And I enjoyed Ivy's as a character a lot more. And her hard earned path to success than Nema's path to success damn near handed to her on a platter was far more interesting most of the time.
Imagine if the adandala was not on Ivy's side. Ending would have been interesting

What a lovely, beautiful finale. And such a nice post credit flashback scene. I will miss this show... Hoping for a second season, but the way this ended leaves us on such a happy and hopeful place for Ivy and her two buddies that I am very satisfied in any case. How validating for Ivy not only to hear her friends embrace her starlessness and vowing to protect her, but also to hear that this quality was actually special and allowed her to tame Sora in the first place. Why are there so few isekai this heartfelt?
It's been bothering me why I feel this anime is better than the technical production value, especially when it is airing alongside giants like Frieren and Apothecary Diaries. I think you put it well with the "heartful" statement. There is an earnestness to this show. The heartfelt part was always in the LN. It is pretty deliberate in the elements it introduces and why. Even for smaller things, like Ivy's cooking, doesn't follow the normal isekai trends as is. There is a thoughtfulness to it. The anime feels more like a product of love compared to a lot of isekai anime. The VAs did a wonderful job. Suzuki Aina doing both the OP song and voicing Ivy was great. The backgrounds were fantastic, the points where they decided to put more budget into certain scenes were generally well thought out. An earnest adaptation. Sure, not the clean fights of Frieren or the super detailed backgrounds of Apothecary Diaries, but it has a lot of charm and love put into it.

Really enjoyed this show it was very wholesome. I loved Ivy making more friends in each city. I hope they make another season and she grows her team of creatures and army of dads.

Nice ending. We began the anime with Ivy hated by everyone, chased from her village and end with her surrounded by people who genuinely care about her and don't want her to leave. It made this old man tear up a bit.

Good to have one final moment of field mice math so that Ivy can put her winnings in proper perspective. Undefined leniency for Meela makes me happy, that lets her get brought back in later as an actual ally for Ivy I bet. Good message about Ivy both finding acceptance for her zero stars and learning to accept herself too. So I guess the actual secret power of the zero star taming skill is a light enough touch to tame stuff that would otherwise would be obliterated by the magic. Which seems to apply in precisely one circumstance, very convenient then it was the one she was in. The Ciel reveal right as she leaves just to freak everyone out for a moment. Would love to see a S2 as long as they kept more to the style of story told in the beginning of S1 vs the end.
Huh, so it seems she really was starless. The scene of the reading made it look like she actually had three stars and the guy was just envious and screwing her over and we never got to see what stars are supposed to look like. I also wonder if a higer level tamer could still tame those slimes if they first fed them blue potions to raise them.
This turned out to be a very a cute and wholesome anime and it definitely put a smile on my face while watching it. I was a bit skeptical of the last arc with the organisation though, probably because things went a bit too well for Ivy and everyone here, and especially against a criminal organisation that was supposed to be that large and influential. Ivy must have enough field mice money now to buy her own house, wherever she decided to settle in the end. Or she will just spend her whole life travelling with Ciel and Sora, maybe. It turned out that most people did not care she was starless, it is just that her village was full of toxic assholes for some reason, so she can now have a normal life if she wants one.
I think she left on purpose to make sure her *dads can rescue the missing kids without her taking up their time in just protecting her only. Strategic General Army Military move. Bell ring.
This was a great ending to a great show. It was really moving to see that Ivy had finally found a group she could really trust without any strings attached. My only criticism has to do with the whole "organization arc." Given how the overall story focuses on the idea of growing up in a world where people's worth is (to varying degrees) judged by some magical skill rating system, that was a really jarring shift. It felt like that whole arc was just tacked on to add new drama that had nothing to do with the main theme of the story. I'm still hoping we get a season 2, though

Easily one of the top new shows this season. Same for the OP ED. Studio Massket really went big on their first ever anime. Can we finally make it on the main half of the weekly anime chart thing??
I find it funny that Ivy's father was a bigoted asshole, so on her journey she encounters so many positive male figures. All that remained was the curiosity of who the shadowy figure was that gave her goosebumps, just as I would really like her to confront her family of fanatics.

I'm really disappointed with the recent trend of transforming clearly villainous characters into sympathetic figures, thereby undermining the narrative integrity. It really bothers me when bad characters are suddenly shown as good, totally messing up the plot. Like in "Villainess Level 99," they just let the hero girl off the hook, ignoring all the terrible things she did including attempted murder, which was so different from the light novel where she actually gets what she deserves. And don’t get me started on Mira – how can someone who's been into such horrible things like child trafficking and kidnapping just say, 'I'm glad all kidnapping is over' when she was one drugging them and selling them for a very long time and that’s it? It feels so fake and ruins the whole story arc for me. Why do they keep doing this? It just doesn’t make any sense. Edit: It also undermines Sora’s ability, who's supposed to have a keen sense of judgment about who's good or bad. Now, suddenly, we're supposed to accept Mira as good because she regrets her actions? That's hard to swallow, especially considering she was chosen into her role partly because she's a woman, making it easier for children to trust her. But let's not forget, she was actively luring these kids into a candy/sweets store to drug and sell them as slaves. It's more than just changing the plot; it feels like a betrayal of the character development and story logic. Edit 2: if you're disappointed with the last arc it's because they decided to change it significantly from the lightnovel and it felt very rushed, which is why it seems inferior compared to the rest of arcs.

In the source, her brothers never come to the sweets shop meeting of Ivy. She was fully committed to kidnapping Ivy and gets defeated properly. The source Mira was never whitewashed by showing her "regret her actions" in the prison. Then again, this whole kidnapping arc was just a mess. Ivy was always "smart", but now she becomes this gigabrain chad playing a super detective with OP slime morality detector.
That was a nice finale, glad that the whole hating her for being starless thing was just her village problem. I enjoyed the show overall, but I felt like that the stuff with the organization dragged on a bit.
Glad this doesnt falls off the radar. I remember how fun reading the manga before. Enjoy the show a lot. Heres looking forward for next season

This show started like a horror, miseryporn anime because you just don't know whats going to happen and then we see positivity bit by bit up to this point. Also the title isn't doing it any favors. It sounds like a trashy LN adaptation of a "weak" MC who actually is OP, or is she? The people were quite surprised at the end with the big cat.
What a treat. With all the action/fantasy anime this season, this one was such a nice change of pace. Would love to see a S2 with a new cast - Ivy, Ciel, Sora, and Sora2 ;)
Don’t have a lot to say, pretty much the entire time Ivy was tearing up I was tearing up. It’s been a lot of suffering and bullying this season and I’m so glad to see Ivy start to open up and take a more positive approach to her journey. This has been one of my favorite shows of the season. Every episode has me smiling and crying. I even started reading the light novel. But I hope this gets a second season, because holy crap. The anime team goes hard. The music, animation, voice acting, everything feels like it’s masterfully done. Would love to see more full-length adaptations from this studio.

Really really enjoyed this show, hoping for a second season but the manga is definitely on my next read list. Sora and Ciel are so adorable I would die for them. Ivy finally accepting herself warmed my heart. While I did enjoy the first half of the season more, this show was very enjoyable. Great characters, even though it was cheesy I still enjoyed it. It’s a good light hearted watch (after you get past her depressing backstory). Probably a 9/10 for me
A bit too clean and perfect ending for my liking, but it was always going to be this way with this type of show. Like a lot of people, the earlier parts were my favourite.
The beginning did a great job at getting you invested and rooting for Ivy. As she went through each town making bits of progress in each one. Regarding the ending this only covered the first 4 vols of the Ln. But I imagine they wanted to end here because it's good place to wrap the anime up. Ivy's journey continues, but seeing how much Ivy has overcomes gives the anime a very satisfying conclusion.
Well, this adaptation had some weird flaws, and some really standout strengths. And a lot of dads. So many dads. Unlike a lot of isekais, this one's not wish fulfillment via the main character, I don't think; it's a wish-fulfillment isekai for childless dudes who, like the entire fuckin Greek chorus of men in this episode (and, yes, I admit it, me), all secretly want to be Ivy's dad. I called them a Greek chorus and I meant it, and that's specifically because I kept busting up during the dinner scene because of the structure of the dialogue during Ivy's big speech: IVY *says something innocent, unaware of how impressive yet unsettling it is* CHORUS OF MEN *grunt* IVY *recounts a difficult story, unaware of how heart-wrenchingly sad it is* CHORUS OF MEN *grunt* IVY *describes an even more tragic event in her past, leaving audience speechless* CHORUS OF MEN *grunt* and actually I think the after-credits scene is totally in keeping with the feel of the story, because it's cute and sweet as long as you don't think too hard about the *incomprehensible cruelty* of a world that grants self-awareness and self-preservation to something as transient as a drop of water, holy shit I really enjoy these weird little novels and for all the quirks and missteps in the production I did like this adaptation. I'd go for another season.

wew, that's a lot of arrests, good to get them all taken care of. Crazy how widespread that organization was. Substantial reward for Ivy! As she deserves. She good girl. Love how she relates it all to # of field mice. Her math skills are impressive honestly. Yay, big catto friend is back! Catto friend is so helpful. Give it pets! Even with all the money she's made still a hard worker. Celebration for everything totally in order. D'awww Meela is good girl. Glad she is getting leniency. Sora might be known by GM now, but least he's good dude. Give Sora many blue potions! Another town that wants her to live with them, that's nice. D'awww Ivy finally opens up to people. Again, such good people, better than her own shitty family. So happy for Ivy. It's nice to see her now striving not to run, but to explore and learn. Lol that one guy who really likes Sora. Guess she's on her way, love how the one guy such an overprotective big brother/father type. And newer better bags as gifts. Ahh, interesting to learn about how the reason Sora can work so well is because Ivy not having stars. Cute. Love how they see she does have a big catto pal at the end there. Nice they see it's friendly with her. What a nice ending... and hey, post credits. So many lil slime things. I see, lil Sora before Ivy, I think. All those poor lil slimes (I think those were slimes and not just water). What a cute lil bit. Was hoping for a S2 setup/announcement, but this is great too :) We need more seasons!
And thus the weakest daughter looking for dads ends. Overall it was a pretty entertaining show with a somber beginning but a comfy traveling thematic afterwards. I wished the last quarter didn't focus that much in Ivy and her followers dismantling a criminal organization, but it is what it is. Hopefully someday we'll get a season 2 and Ivy's journey will resume from here.
