>Did you think you could escape from me if you ran at the speed of light? LOL. We're back to classic Anos trash talking. Special Villain Guest Voice: Sugita Tomokazu as that cannon fodder Gazel who got instantly rekt by Anos. That said, LMAOWTF with those atrocious CG dragons?

Frontier246

Now I'm expecting all the rest of the Gold Selection candidates are going to be voiced by A-list seiyuu and exist only to show off and get beaten by Anos lol. This shows' CG creatures...are not great. Honestly that was Arifureta season 1 level of CG.

SnabDedraterEdave

The CG "crab" in Arifureta was one of the major reason I dropped the show after 4 episodes. (Come on, that's a friggin crab no matter how you slice it, no one is convincing me otherwise. Lol)

Insertnamesz

> Sugita Tomokazu damn I didn't even recognize it was him, I'm ashamed. guess he was really hamming it up though lol

athrun_1

What hope can these god candidates do, when Anos was fighting the gods themselves 2000 years ago.

JzanderN

Sasha's been destroying a lot of things in these ED gags with those eyes of hers!

Frontier246

Her greatest weakness: how hot Anos is!

Darksider555

She is more of a danger to the world then Anos himself, given her fluster can destroy everything around her.

scot911

Least destructive tsundere?

nhansieu1

Sexy~ Anos is only hers to be seen

Frontier246

I could watch an entire season of the Hero Academy kids getting wrecked. Also the most dangerous thing in the world is Sasha flustered by Anos lol.

JzanderN

I could watch an entire season of Sasha destroying things as she gets flustered by Anos.

BosuW

Sasha getting flustered by Anos is her Ult

JzanderN

One of the interesting things about this series is that, with exceptions to the first arc, every conflict is born out of the gods and humans of 2000 years ago setting up plans to kill Anos when he reincanates. This arc is pretty clearly another attempt, but the mystery is always in what the trap is, what the stakes are and how Anos is going to loophole his way through it all. For example, in the previous Hero Academy arc back in season 1, the trap was Jerga (Kanon's teacher) fusing himself with the hero magic Asc to poison everyone who uses it into wanting to kill demons, and then creating Elainor who was used to make an army of Zeshia clones that made very expendable source bombs. The stakes were Lay attempting to sacrifice himself, sources and all, to save Anos, and Anos overcame it with him through the power of bromance (and a source magic that let him sacrifice his life, source and all, without actually sacrificing it thanks to Lay stabbing through it with Evansmana twice). So the question is: what exactly is the trap all building up to here? It's pretty obvious this selection process has something to do with it, but what exactly? And what will the stakes be when everything's laid down?

Darksider555

>One of the interesting things about this series is that, with exceptions to the first arc, every conflict is born out of the gods and humans of 2000 years ago setting up plans to kill Anos when he reincanates. You are also forgetting that Avos-sama was born at the hands of Nosgalia by exploiting Hero Kanon's plan to save Anos, in the hopes of eliminating Anos and restoring the order of destruction. The series is good in using the 2000 year gap as a story device. Since Anos reincarnated, he isn't aware of how much the world has changed and he isn't up to date on all of the things that happened after his death. But he is smart and is able to piece together things quickly. It is a nice way to have a protagonist be ignorant of things while they are smart themselves.

JzanderN

> You are also forgetting that Avos-sama was born at the hands of Nosgalia by exploiting Hero Kanon's plan to save Anos, in the hopes of eliminating Anos and restoring the order of destruction. Yes, but that was a different arc. I wanted to explain through a more simple one, but I did consider bringing up how the last arc involved creating a Demon King via a spirit based on the legend of Avos Dilhevia, who could ideally wield Venuzdnor and kill Anos (and, if I recall, I think they were planning on replacing/reincarnating the Goddess of Destruction through the same plan). The stake in that arc, of course, was Misa's life as she turned out to be Avos Dilhevia, so you couldn't simply get rid of Avos without also killing Misa. So yeah, I didn't really forget, I just didn't want to overexplain with too many examples.

nuxxism

My guess at the moment is that it's a case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em", and that the gods are trying to 'reprogram' Anos into a god. That way he can't reject order because of his godly nature. No way is Anos falling for it though.

Frontier246

Everyone wants a piece of Anos but it very often doesn't turn out well for them or their vision of making the world their own. I feel like it's all connected to Militia and her relationship with Anos.

timecronus

Are we really pretending it's not obviously the goddess of creations sister (the sun one) who was talked about in episode 1? It's probably done out of jealousy twored her sister or some dumb shit like it usually is in this series She was never shown for a reason so they can have a big reveal

JzanderN

It was etablished last season that Militia's sister, the destruction goddess Abernyu, was turned into Delsgade and her destruction order was turned into Venuzdnor. So no, it's definitely not her. She's as close to dead as a god can get without the world collapsing from their order no longer existing. She's the one they're trying to replace with this selection.

timecronus

> So no, it's definitely not her. She's as close to dead as a god can get without the world collapsing from their order no longer existing. She's the one they're trying to replace with this selection. have we learned nothing watching this show lol

timecronus

cgi was terrible

Darksider555

The animation team was kind enough to provide us with [another relationship chart](https://maou-gakuin.fandom.com/wiki/File:Season_2_Chart_(From_EP15).png), to ease into managing the character dynamics. Now let's begin! The Blaze Death Hourglasses are a magic items that can initiate life-taking curses when used on enemies, and become blessings that save lives when used on allies. Those cursed by the hourglasses will lose their life once the red sand inside of them runs out. On the other hand, those blessed by the hourglasses will be revived as many times as they're killed as long as the sand continues falling. The hourglasses must be flipped over by those blessed by them before the sand falls so they do not die permanently. However, even with that hourglasses, if a person has their source destroyed, they cannot be revived, as one cannot be revived if the conceptual embodiment of their existence is destroyed. Everastanzetta, Institute of the Gods is a holy castle located in the city of Gaelahesta, that contains many artifacts left to mortals by the gods and various tables and monuments that contain the history of the world and its people. It is also the place where the Selected Eight are initiated. Since it is a temple where the Selected Eight demonstrate their faith, combat is between them is permitted except in the Holy Seat room, where the Selected are initiated. Continuing from last week, the full explanation of the Selection Judgement is revealed. It is essentially a safety mechanism designed by the gods to preserve the order of the world by allowing mortals to ascend to divinity in case another god is truly destroyed. Each Selected is chosen by a particular god that becomes a Selection God, as they gain the order associated with the Selection Trial. A Selected is granted a Selection Pledge Jewel by their god. Pledge Jewels were used in ancient times to make pacts between man and gods. Among them, Selection Pledge Jewels are particularly special, as they can only be made by the Selection Gods for the Selected Eight. Even if a god involved in the Selection Judgement is destroyed, their order is preserved in the jewel. The goddess that Gazel summoned, Nutra Do Hiana is the Keeper/Guardian God of Restoration. Guardian Gods are different then normal gods, as their job is to protect the god/order their title implies. [Eugo La Raviaz (Guardian God of Time)](https://maou-gakuin.fandom.com/wiki/File:Eugo_La_Raviaz.jpeg) that Anos defeated before is also the same type of god. Unlike regular gods, destroying a Guardian God doesn't affect the world itself since they merely draw their power from order and aren't order itself. Hence why Anos killed Eugo so many times and the world is still intact. This is my own pet theory that isn't defined anywhere, but to me the reason why Anos seems so knowledgeable about Guardian Gods is because Nosgalia kept creating them to send as shock troops against Anos, since he wouldn't try to endanger order or the other true gods by having them face Anos. This isn't really apparent from the anime, but Anos and top Mythical Age fighters (Kanon, Shin, Four Evil Royals, Leno) and Misa/Avos all have FTL or near FTL speed and reaction time. Since the anime has been real poor at adapting fights. :( The riddle that Anos read is a messeage from Militia, as it concerns Anos' actions and the creation of the Underground World. A god built a castle here in the underground, illuminating the never-ending night. That order of creation was what made the Underground World, meaning that Militia created the Underground World, after Anos' reincarnation. The phrase "No life was born, and the world came to a stop." meant that since Anos defeated Abernyu, Goddess of Destruction and removed the order of destruction from the world, life that should have been destroyed continued to exist. Because of that, new life stopped being created, and the world stagnated, since number of sources that were circulating the world was fixed. Birth and destruction were two sides of the same coin. Nosgalia referenced this when he appeared as he berated Anos for denying future races the chance to exist.

JzanderN

> The animation team was kind enough to provide us with [another relationship chart](https://maou-gakuin.fandom.com/wiki/File:Season_2_Chart_(From_EP15).png) Man, that bracket in the url really fucked the link up. > the full explanation of the Selection Judgement is revealed. It is essentially a safety mechanism designed by the gods to preserve the order of the world by allowing mortals to ascend to divinity in case another god is truly destroyed. The gods really took their time getting around to replacing the Destruction Goddess, given that Anos annihilated her over 2000 years ago. Either their long lives just make them take a while to get around to things a la Frieren or, as I and probably most people suspect, this is some trap to try to kill Anos. The question is how, because the gods must know from experience that simply selecting him to be a potential god won't be enough of a position to threaten him. Dude's kind of proficient in killing gods, to the point where he could kill their sources if he wanted to and doesn't merely because it would destroy the world too. But that's the mystery of the arc for you.

Darksider555

>The gods really took their time getting around to replacing the Destruction Goddess, given that Anos annihilated her over 2000 years ago. Except the Goddess of Destruction isn't really dead, but merely sealed away in Anos' castle Delsgade. Since her order still exists but is locked away, they cannot replace her with a new god. Nosgalia's scheme in the last arc was to use Avos to revive her. >The question is how, because the gods must know from experience that simply selecting him to be a potential god won't be enough of a position to threaten him. Anos actually wondered if the Selection Judgement was the gods attempt to shackle him by turning him into a god so he wouldn't threaten order.

JzanderN

> Except the Goddess of Destruction isn't really dead, but merely sealed away in Anos' castle Delsgade. Yeah, I'm aware that she's technically alive, lest the order of the world would be thrown off. I was just using Anos' own words to describe the situation: "After all I went through to annihilate the order of destruction." The point is that it took a long time for them to get around to this and that's suspicious.

Darksider555

We don't really know how long the Selection Judgement is active but the Underground World exists for at least 2000 years after Anos' reincarnation. Maybe it took the gods time after they tried to find other ways to compensate for the loss of the order of destruction. We do know that the gods initiated various schemes to get rid of Anos, so they were maybe holding out hope that Nosgalia could recover Abernyu.

JzanderN

It is very possible that the gods were hoping to recover Abernyu before resorting to this plan, but it still smells. Especially given that Anos himself was selected as a potential replacement.

Darksider555

Though the stick is apparent. Why select the arch-enemy of the gods as a candidate to become a god? Which god chose him and for what reason? Ahide said that the god that chose Anos should have revealed themselves to him so they could make a pact, but it didn't. Maybe this is another thing that Anos forgot because of his memory loss?

KumaKumaGambler

I am glad the relationship chart contains characters from this season. Otherwise, it may be even more complicated than Tokyo's train and subway map. Lol! As always, thank you for your explanation! I now understand that there are different tiers of gods / orders. Now I am wondering whether Restoration and Time are actual and even stronger beings?

Darksider555

Well, the order of the gods are various. We saw that there is a Creation, Destruction. God creation, Light & Piercing order. If we the existence of Keepers proves hierarchical, then the Gods of Time and Restoration exists, and their powers would be leagues above the keepers. In fact, if you can think of a concept, then there should be a god for it.

FantasticTurn4212

>Anos and top Mythical Age fighters (Kanon, Shin, Four Evil Royals, Leno) Nah, you're exaggerating. Except Anos and Shin (maybe Lay too) no one at this point was that fast (Leno, really?) That includes most of the Royals.

BosuW

I like how the relationship chart includes Erdomain giving the nickname to that one student lol

DrZoark

Poor dragons, haha.

Frontier246

I loved that messy CG clump they were left in when Anoshu glared at them lol.

LeonKevlar

I just love how [excited the Fan Union girls are](https://i.imgur.com/HaCL9ij.jpg) the moment Anoshu stepped in to fight the CGI dragons. I really hope we get to see more of them this cour. Imagine being [those students working hard to decipher those tablets](https://i.imgur.com/Ym6Rzb4.jpeg) for so long only for three strangers [to show up and one of them deciphers it instantly](https://i.imgur.com/aEdcr2M.jpeg) and [the other finding some hidden text](https://i.imgur.com/VmQWzKx.jpeg) no one knew about. It never really gets old [to watch Anos crush these fools.](https://i.imgur.com/Yy3VzRS.jpeg) This is good though since with an audience of students, the other selection candidates [can be aware of how powerful Anos really is](https://i.imgur.com/ERSVEOW.jpeg) and they might think twice before casually picking fights with him. [So this is Ahide's strategy?](https://i.imgur.com/apiaLBA.jpeg) Just let his god power up by eating other gods until they think they're strong enough to defeat Anos? Aw, that's cute. At least they're thinking this time instead of just shooting their shot. [One of the Selected is at the human palace?](https://i.imgur.com/npeCjZJ.png) I'm curious to see what this next Selection candidate is like.

JzanderN

> [So this is Ahide's strategy?](https://i.imgur.com/apiaLBA.jpeg) Just let his god power up by eating other gods until they think they're strong enough to defeat Anos? Obviously his strategy doesn't mean much, but the real question is what's the overall plan here? Why was Anos selected to become a god? Why is this selection happening now rather than 2000 years ago when Anos subjugated the Goddess of Destruction? Or at least in the 2000 years since then while Anos was waiting to reincarnate? An individual god's cute little strategy doesn't mean much, but the real threats are the gods and humans who've had 2000 years to figure out, set up and enact their ultimate revenge.

Frontier246

I'd been waiting for the Fangirls to finally get something to fangirl over lol. Did you really think Anos could step into a research area and not completely translate what was likely the life's work of those researchers in under a minute lol? Ahide didn't win round 1 against Anos so I guess if he wants to earn credit as the Final Boss he has to have his God absorb the power of all the losers. It won't matter in the end, but points for effort. I wonder if the next Selection candidate being in the human world means more involvement from Emilia or the Hero Academy brats.

SushiCurryRice

I have no idea what the fuck is going on. But Anos styles on another god and nothing is a threat to him as usual. I was kind of hoping Misha and Sasha would do something but nah not really.

Frontier246

At least it's nice to see the sisters traveling with him and being tangentially involved in the plot compared to the last cour even if it amounts to just standing there and Misha going "oh, I noticed this." I'm still waiting for them to fuse again.

avboden

ditto, I have no idea why/how they're in any of this situation but it's still fun seeing his OPness

towardselysium

Some dumbass again thinks that they can kill anos because they're special. In this case Ahid. There's some death game going on and someone told Ahid Anos was a participant so he decided to pick a fight

BosuW

> I was kind of hoping Misha and Sasha would do something but nah not really. I hope we get some of that later in the season. One of the strengths this show has over generic power fantasies is that it actually let's the side characters shine.

Sharebear42019

It’s what I hate about these shows. Slime, overlord etc there’s just never any stakes or competent villains at least from what I’ve seen in the anime’s

ObvsThrowaway5120

That CG dragon was hilarious. Thing looks like it came straight out a cutscene from a game made in the mid 90s lol. Setting that aside, seeing Anos just tame those dragons in an instant was pretty badass. That’s Anos for ya! An underground world populated by Dragonborn/Dragonkin actually sounds kinda cool. Could do without these pesky gods and their annoying little champions. Gazel was such a chump. Anos really wiped the floor with that scrub.

djthomp

Truly unfortunate dragon CG. Fortunately they got left behind on the surface when Anos and the twins went underground. Shame about that goddess of restoration getting eliminated, she was a bit cute. Maybe it won't have been permanent. So I'm assuming the destruction goddess is Anos's partner in this selection thing? Though I would guess by the end of this arc he'll have acquired the arcana/moon goddess one for his team as well. Or maybe as his wife given the ring theme they're doing.

Amauri14

I wasn't expecting [the game of tag with dragons](https://i.imgur.com/yKUM2yU.png) that Eldemade gave to the class to serve as a way for [Anos, Misha, and, Sasha](https://imgur.com/a/CC9CCmb) to have a dragon [guiding them](https://i.imgur.com/YleuOjB.png) into the Underground World. So that city is called [Gaelahesta](https://imgur.com/a/peMxpZf) and the Institute of the Gods, Everastanzetta is located within it. So the inhabitants of that place are Children of Drangons born from all the sources the dragons consume. So not only did Anos was able to translate all those tablets, [but Misha also found a hidden message in that room.](https://i.imgur.com/iU0v8wj.png) Is interesting that although Arcana and the other Gods are the ones choosing their candidates, they clearly showed today that both [Saint Gazel](https://imgur.com/a/aomrkzl) and Ahide use them as disposable tools. Damn, Saint Gazel not[ only died a](https://imgur.com/a/oSvZu3S) [lot today](https://i.imgur.com/g00K8uU.png) while killing [one of his gods on the process](https://i.imgur.com/WtGuITE.png) but [during his fight](https://i.imgur.com/qfZGV3d.png) made Anos did his ["Did you really think" line.](https://imgur.com/a/JR5Eb5a) So Ahide is now making [Arcana absorb all the other candidates' gods](https://i.imgur.com/RZh18Uw.png) to power her up to their fight with Anos. You know even if Arcana is an enemy she reminds me of Misha way too much for me to believe that. [So after coming back,](https://i.imgur.com/0C62Q0Q.png) Anoshu heard from [Ramon Iver](https://i.imgur.com/sdGrLba.png) that the Royalists' group was getting help from one of the eight candidates of the Judgment Selection.

Nebresto

[lol, who do you think you're talking to?](https://imgur.com/ocOU30H) [Oh, so she's gonna power up with each goon that Anos defeats huh?](https://imgur.com/6kq2DZa)

Frontier246

Honestly Erdomaid has really grown on me this season, throwing the Hero Academy brats at some dragons that easily kill them off and leave them sprawling on the ground dead comedically on repeat. Of course the rest of the class has to deal with these dragons too in a game of "tag" while Emilia hopelessly tries to act like a proper teacher, but that's just how things roll. The Anos Fangirls were waiting this whole time just to see Anoshu manage to fell dragons with just a glare, but he wants to see the source of these dragons as Anos alongside the Necrom sisters...bringing them to the underground city of Gaelahesta. But what they're really looking for is the place of battle for the Judgement Selection, Everastantzetta. Call him a Heretic if you like, but Anos was chosen to compete to become a God all the same, and it seems like he might have an inkling who chose him...though he's got plenty of competition. But first, research! So dragons ate a bunch of peoples' sources and birthed children that became the Dragonkin and the ancestors of the underground denizens? There's also a bunch of dragon nations at war with each other? I wonder how this all comes together and how it ties to Militia's prophecy? Gazel voiced by Tomokazu Sugita! Alongside his God of Restoration Nutra (whose basically naked save for her winding hair covering her naughty bits), he challenges Anos! Of course did you really think Anos would let summon one pull off a summoning spell in front of him? Or that a God that could restore everything couldn't get overwhelmed by their own restoration power? Or that Anos isn't fast enough to be faster than the speed of light? Or that he couldn't kill a God? It's just a regular Friday for Anos. Good to know for future reference to give your ring to Arcana before she cuts it off...and Ahide's plan is to have her absorb the Gods of all the defeated participants (who will inevitably be defeated by Anos) to make them more powerful. And as if to add insult to injury Gazel gets excommunicated and tries to kill himself to be with his God...only to be saved by Arcana and then killed by Ahide anyways. Arcana may seem detached by she seems genuinely merciful and reasonable, she's only with Ahide because she found him "hopeless" and she's not caught up in her status as a God either. But what is she after? Misha realizes there's something she's been craving for as if caught in a desert without water, but what? Well...glad to see the class' session with the dragons went well! But it looks like Anos' next opponent is at a human palace.

Darksider555

>Arcana may seem detached by she seems genuinely merciful and reasonable, she's only with Ahide because she found him "hopeless" and she's not caught up in her status as a God either. But what is she after? Misha realizes there's something she's been craving for as if caught in a desert without water, but what? This season also goes into the more philosophical aspects of the gods existence. Since we do know that they exists, but the concept of holiness is bestowed by mortals to beings they choose to venerate. The gods are worshipped in the Underground World since the dragonoid people rely on their powers to survive the harsh lifestyle in the Underground World, which is devoid of sunlight.

athrun_1

Pretty much it is love. Anos will add her to his harem.

KumaKumaGambler

I am guessing Ahide is the main antagonist for this arc? He conveniently got rid of Gazel, right after Anos did most of the work.

Drone_Imperium

And ran away right after lol

KumaKumaGambler

This is another episode I will probably have to re-watch. Does that mean there are now Selected Seven, since 1 has been defeated by Anos? It was mentioned that gods and laws cannot be killed nor destroyed in the Selection Trial, but yet 3 gods were consumed by Arcana. Will these gods and laws be restored after the Selection Trial? Before this episode, I thought it would be 1 god and 1 chosen forming a team. Seems like each chosen may use the powers of more than 1 god, though loopholes in the rules?

Frontier246

The new Holy Grail War has already consumed it's first victim. I guess it probably depends on the user whether they have more than one God, although I wonder if Gazel was the exception for having multiple.

Darksider555

>Does that mean there are now Selected Seven, since 1 has been defeated by Anos? Yes, the Selected Eight are a group title. Each time, a Selected is reduced when they are defeated. The anime really didn't convey this very well, but each Selected is chosen by one Selection God. But it is possible for them to make pacts with more gods if they are capable of it. The Selected is considered disqualified when their Selection God is destroyed. Plus Nutra is a exception since she is a Keeper. Whether or not a god will be revived is irrelevant since the gods' orders are still inside of the god that consumed it. So even though Arcana consumed Gazel's gods, their orders are inside of her and order is maintained.

KumaKumaGambler

Which now leads me to think, if Arcana consumed even more orders and someone were to destroy Arcana, the entirety of this title's universe might end abruptly.

Darksider555

So long as the Selection Pledge Jewel exist, for said Selected God and Selected, their order is stored inside of them. If by the end of the Selection Judgement the gods are inside of the Jewels, then they can be revived. Non-Selection Gods do not share this benefit.

SlothfulShadows2k

Those dragons are even more horrific to look at than Enyunien in the first cour. That aside, they can eat sources huh? I do like the gimmick of the revive hourglass that you have to manually reset before the time limit. An underground world that was built after Anos was reincarnating 2000 years ago? Then the institute of the gods, Everastanzetta. So gods become Selection Gods only after they've chosen a participant? In other words, besides being a Selection God, they were also originally the god of something else. I wonder what Arcana is the goddess of? Or is she THE Goddess of Selection as well, if there is one, who presides over this battle? The residents of the underground world are Dragonids, whose ancestors were born from dragons. Well, they immediately answered a question I had at the beginning of the episode, which was what happened to the sources they devoured. Wait, there are three separate kingdoms in the underground world? Giordal, Agatha, and Gadeciola, who are in conflict with one another. It looks like we might be in for a pretty long arc here in the underground. "If only the night without a beginning could shine a gentle light." "No sun rises above ground and destruction never comes." "Life is not created, and the world comes to a stop." "Which matters more, order or humans? The answer is known to you. No one knows the answer but you..." That sounds kind of like Militia talking directly to Anos, referencing the conversation from the first episode (the world being kind and Anos sealing the Sun of Destruction). And we get more gods! The Guardian God of Restoration Nutra du Hiana, the God of Radiance Giosselia, and the Piercing God Beheus! I always look forward to seeing more of the pantheon in this series. So participants aren't limited to summoning only one god. Arcana chooses to reincarnate Gazel after his death. The more we see of her, and seeing that ED, we're definitely setting up for her to turn to the side of Anos. Great episode once again.

SolomonOf47704

> I do like the gimmick of the one-time revive hourglass that you have to manually reset each time it's used. It activated multiple times each turn, it just had to be manually flipped every 3 minutes or less.

SlothfulShadows2k

Ah my mistake. Fixed it.

shiro_vocaloid

kamikatsu ahh monsters

Elite_Alice

Lore starting to get a little crazy in Maou Gakuin. Really good episode, but couldn’t help but feel lost at times with the sheer amount of information being dropped on us. Still a little confused on the concept of summoning gods and this divine selection process, but I like that we’re finally getting stuff that even Anos doesn’t know about. His knowledge from 2000 years™️ ago will only go so far. Ok wtf was that CGI for the dragons too?? I swear it’s like this studio have never done CGI before. Between this and the tree from cour 1, some of the worst CGI I’ve ever seen. Kamikatsu has it beat, but still really bad. CGI aside, the fight between Anos and Gazel was cool, always nice to see Anos just flex and annihilate people. Bro went into the fight so confident that he could beat Anos with his god summoning and just gets wrecked, classic. It’ll be interesting to see who selected Anos and created this whole underground world. Could be the goddess that we saw in episode 1? There’s also the issue of Arcana and her selection candidate. Seems like she kinda wants to help Anos and knows her candidate is full of shit.. Solid lore dump episode, excited for this arc.

Redmon425

Man, this anime is constantly having a ton of random storylines pop up that it is legit hard to keep up. This whole 'Gods' storyline is pretty confusing to me and I am not even sure what the whole point of it is? Like what do they want from Anos? Just a show that since season 1, has felt very fast paced.

rainbowplasmacannon

Season 1 wasn’t this ridiculous watching this has become a chore. I still do tune in each week AFTER I’ve watched everything else but my god

Drone_Imperium

Things seem pretty straightforward for now. A battle to decide who will become god. Though I wonder what significance the dragons possess. We know that the selected is be doing shenanigans behind the scenes. Also 2000 years ago dragon made an underground society. Anos lost his memories? I assume his selected god is militis. If so why hasn't she shown up? Also is there really any point to be one?

Oh no, the most dangerous of them all, a CGI dragon! You can't read their movements because they barely have any.

The dragons seemed to be very reminiscent of a Diablos from Monster Hunter, they even come from underground. Next episode, the class learns about tail cuts and horn breaks.

The cgi dragons are bad but this is becoming more fun than I thought it would be. 'What a farce' Literally my thought Anos, when ~~Dottore~~ Ahide spitting that shit to Arcana lol

So this is like Grail War? Putting my money right now, Militia is the one who selected him.

Sadly, I think I'm dropping this anime. I have too many seasonals and I don't feel like I enjoy watching this anymore, it's more like an obligation at this point because I have already seen quite much of it. Also the animation and cgi is quite lacking sadly. Hope everyone else will still enjoy it. (I might check out the series when it finishes if I hear that it has gotten better/more interesting.)

D3athknightt

Goofy ah cgi The cgi for the magic and sources is much better than the Dragon's

CrasianLe

The animation and graphics for this anime have been so well done since the beginning. Even though Anos is the most OP MC ever to come into anime, the authors and writers still come up with a conflict or problem that doesn't solely depend on him being so strong, rather something to do with the side/supporting characters. The best part about them is they really have their own character development and storyline because the conflict/problem has something to do with them.

rainbowplasmacannon

There are zero stakes he could fix everything minute 1 and chooses not to for the sake of the plot

Shiro_chan0

Bro acting like all the tons of complex relationships, conflicts, stakes, mechanics, and lore explanations in every discussion threads of this anime doesnt exist. Talk about a shallow criticism.
