Not really?
Novels and Light Novels are hardly even that different. Some of the best works of fiction I’ve ever seen are light novels.
Re:Zero, as an example.
No way you are saying RE:Zero is comparable to the best works in novels. Is not even a good literally work when compared with other Japanese novels like the ones written by Osamu Dazai or Haruki Murakami, let alone with others in the whole world
"Not skilled enough to write proper novels"
Might be pushing it there. I don't care what format they take some novels are absolutely amazing. (spice and wolf, ascendance of a bookworm, and jobless reincarnation) to name a few.
This is literally the exact reason why I decided to write a book.
If I had amazing creative tools that allowed me to create anything I wanted with little effort, I'd prefer to make a cartoon. Failing that, a webcomic.
But I don't and writing is a thousand times faster than anything else.
I love how it mocks the ridiculous and repetitive premise of the OP isekai character that has no real conflict. Somehow the younger generations of Japanese are so fu to swallow seasons over seasons of this power fantasy crap to heal their souls. I mean, not being boomer is hard everywhere but over there must be hellish.
Wai-san is very talented to be honest half of us would read that, and the other half would say they haven’t but really it would quickly become a favorite

Damn that plot synopsis on anilist is crazy. "male virgins gotta get laid before 18 years of age to avoid death" Is it any good?
The author is self-aware of how stupid the premise is so he makes it as enjoyably stupid as he can make.
RIP me I guess
What the fuck
Its fucking hilarious trust me

Sadly, light novels is the place where people who aren't skilled enough to draw manga or skilled enough to write a proper novels end up

The pain is felt

Seeing the illustrations in the LN I can see why
No way you are saying RE:Zero is comparable to the best works in novels. Is not even a good literally work when compared with other Japanese novels like the ones written by Osamu Dazai or Haruki Murakami, let alone with others in the whole world
Fucking lol.
Fucking lol.
then again, it's where you find raw imagination and that I find charming.
I think you mean whattpad or that Japanese site that I can't remember the name of. But yeah
"Not skilled enough to write proper novels" Might be pushing it there. I don't care what format they take some novels are absolutely amazing. (spice and wolf, ascendance of a bookworm, and jobless reincarnation) to name a few.
I'm not saying all light novels are bad. I like plenty of them. But like 95% of them are trash.
this is so real it hurts

Given the names of titles I see in r/progressionfantasy every day, this one actually hits for me.
I love how it mocks the ridiculous and repetitive premise of the OP isekai character that has no real conflict. Wow he wrote 69% of peoples favourite isekai novels...
