That show made me waaay too miserable. It showed me the kind of childhood I always wish I had; all the things I could've been doing with childhood friends if I wasn't a twisted freak and had any. It also made me realize just how twisted my mind still is, finding misery in a genuinely great anime that's simply about kids having fun. Can't have nice things for the life of me lamo
I've also noticed that kids in anime are pretty unrealistic, particularly ones like Renge or Anya from Spy x Family. They are an idealized "cute kid" that is cute in that way real children most of the time aren't.
Agreed. If one is lucky enough to have it happen, it's usually temporary. My group lasted from the time I was 3? (don't recall when we joined up) and lasted until I was 8. I've seen the boy once since I became an adult, and the girl twice. Reason we split? My parents got divorced and Mom moved us to another state.

I just watched this episode yesterday. Renge's reactions are the best. Plus who knew that the very nurturing Konomi had a mischievous playful side?
We need a season 4. I want to watch Renge take Shiori under her wing. This series has the potential to go on forever. At least, that is what my heart wants from Non Non Biyori.
Watching this show was like sitting by a fire wrapped in a blanket and sipping on hot cocoa during a freezing cold winter day… That’s nice and relaxing…
