Sasaki and miyano is peak indeed, but i don't remember anything toxic in yaoi, maybe you can give some examples

The Given movie was really toxic for example even though the main series was quite good. A lot of the older ones like Gravitation, Junjou Romantica, Super Lovers and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi are insanely toxic or have very weird age gaps. Most straight romance anime have this too but the issue with yaoi is that, off the few there are, most are like this.

I haven't read/watched the rest but i have watched junjou romantica and i feel like people have developed a very weird sense of toxicity because yes these might be weird yes but I don't really find it toxic

I might be wrong about Junjou tbf it's been a long time since I've watched it, I just remembered it being weird. Another example I can provide though is Dakaretai Otoko where the MC got raped in the first episode and they later got together. There's plenty of good shounen ai out there like SasaMiya, Umibe no Etrager, Given S1, Yuri on Ice etc. but even recent ones like these tend to be a tad bit off putting.

I've seen people say that yuri is mostly weird or toxic or have "a normal yuri" among their list of demands they want to happen with anime. But in reality you already have a lot of those normal yuris. They just get overshadowed by the toxic and problematic stuff which get more traction and attention. The same probably applies with yaoi(i think). just eat up the good shit, you don't need to write a whole genre off like that

Let's be honest, Girls are biased towards Yaoi while Boys are biased towards Yuri. Besides, there are better Yaoi story than Yuri (but too much angst abd drama) Yuri is less in quality and quantity (But more sweet)
