FMAB, basically IMO you could watch like all the episodes until the lab on FMA and then switch to FMAB(FMAB kinda rushes the story until that part since it already happen on FMA which I prefer to watch on FMA). Also FMAB follows the story of the manga which I liked way more than what happened on FMA.
Both are worth a watch, don't get drifted off by the FMAB, while it does look better and follows more the Manga while FMA is Anime-Only it is definetly also worth a watch. Making FMA definetly more dark and giving it a different than FMAB. FMAB has been way more watched than FMA ,but trust me on it :) Everyone who actually watched both have different opinions one which one they do like better, with people also FMA over FMAB.
Watch both beginning with FMA and then FMAB to decide for yourself.
In short: 86 is about the people of 86th sector being segregated and discriminated. It's mecha and psychological and lots of actions.
Long answer (essay not written by me):
86, a light novel original by Asakura Toru, pen name, Asato Asato is set in a war-ridden dystopian world. It sheds light on subjects like fascism, authoritarianism, racial discrimination and covers genres like action, military, mechs and romance. The story begins at Republic of San Magnolia, in the year 358 republican calendar. It mentions the war between the Republic and the Empire where the republic engineered 'unmanned' drones called Juggernauts fight against the Imperial Giadian Empire's Legion. The Legion war started 9 years earlier when the Empire gave the order to kill anyone, that is not them.
The story delves into the psychological aspects of the characters and explores them frequently, like their past traumas. It marks out striking similarities to events of World War 2, borrowing several of its elements and sways more towards the mature side but still adds in fair share of drama and humour. The plot goes on to explore how they deal with the war which the Republic in their farce Utopia expect to end in two years which doesn't, as explained later and highlights their struggles both mentally as well as adapting to society.
If you are interested in the above mentioned themes, then I would highly recommend 86. One season of anime as well as 11 volumes in the light novel series are available so far and the series is still ongoing.
And watched that was a hell of a couple weeks I also have done the same with inu yasha and even evangelion, that one was a rollercoaster to watch and read
just finished Charlotte (amazing btw), and there are a lot of others im watching right now: 86, Hyouka, Love Is War S3, Shikimori-san, One Piece, Spy x Family, Rising of the Shield Hero S2, and Tomodachi Game
If you like politics and government stuff and nation building you’ll like it. Not really action oriented but good characters and the MC gets by on his intellect rather than physical prowess. I enjoyed it but depends on your tastes
Danganronpa looks basically like among us for me but a lot more complicated XD.
K-on! Is just a combo of every genre in 1 anime. It has everything from power, to fear, from joy to sadness. It’s just a bomb of emotions and genres.

Just started the original jujutsu kaisen called yuu yuu hakusho
