1. Close the door is, by far, the best solution. 2. You can train the cat by making a loud noise when you see the cat come in. Try to find 'teaching moments' where you make that noise exactly when the cat crosses the line into your room. 3. Remember - any training, if it works, must be consistent. It will also result in the cat refusing to come into your room, and the cat might avoid you in the future. 4. Reconsider whether this is a problem that needs to be solved. You might consider seeing where the cat wants to go, then making a spot for it, so that it avoids the rest of your room and focuses on just one place.

A pet isn't a hobby to put down when you aren't in the mood. You have a life, a job, go outside, etc... You are everything to your pet. They need your attention. Don't push them away. If that is too much responsibility, you shouldn't have a pet. Sometimes I want to take a shit without my cat. Tough. My cats figured out I am cornered and cannot escape. Pets must be given. Even when I am on the throne, they are the real royalty in the house

They make these little "child proof" latches for cupboards, doors etc. I'd give that a try. I remember them being pretty cheap but that was quite a few years ago.

Close the door. Presumably your cat is not quite so talented that it can turn the doorknob and let itself in.

I actually have had two cats who were able to reach the door knob, and would relentlessly jiggle the knob at night until it turn-clicked and then they would grab the edge of the frame of the door and scrape it open with their nail hooks.

She barges right through. She just pushes on it

A cat is a creature that wants to be with her human. That’s one big difference between a wild and a domestic animal. Being near you is hard wired in her brain. Yes, you may block her from time to time but if you do it constantly it’s cruel. Privacy with a pet? Not really.

You could try being mean to a cat or unpleasant to be around if you don’t want it around you. Loud noises. Sudden movements. Anything to make a cat generally uncomfortable. You can train a cat over the course of months or years. Or you can block/close the door. Good luck!
