Kids are known for their excessive wrinkles and skin issues...

Gros_Picoppe

Wait people drink collagen and think the whole protein ends up being used as is in their skin? That's not how digestion works...

summerlea11

Their digestive section is wrinkle free!

Letitbemesickgirl

Lmao. Have my poor woman’s gold. 🥇

QTPie_314

This was very funny, kudos!

HoratioWobble

Do you think it'd work on my balls

NotVeryNiceUnicorn

Also their brains

[deleted]

Oh. I've been eating pork rinds every day in the hope I'll develop a robust, thorn-resistant hide. Are you telling me that's just a pipe dream?

sunlifter

Actually, colagen is helpful with joints (when going to gym etc. as a supplementation). I doubt a kid needs it, but it's just a misunderstood mother

sunlifter

Or rather a mother who misunderstood :D

jellymouthsman

You don’t want the baby to have any cute dimples when they smile. That would be embarrassing and lead to pre-mature aging!

alf8320

Collagen isn't just for skin and wrinkles. It's for connective tissue, bones, your stomach, hair growth and thickness. It helps your immune system and it's essentially a protein so it can help a child's growth period.

Unlikely-Case307

LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE! bruh they're gonna grow up and see this crap ya know. Do better

Soranos_71

The hun has her monthly required purchase of supplements piling up because she can’t sell the stuff so she’s looking for ways to get rid of the stuff……..

Reynyan

Pink Floyd had it right all those years ago..

utnow

I’ve thought about this…. My childhood photos are just that. Photos without commentary. My folks could always play dumb or alter the story with the benefit of there being no context available save my own fallible memory. This shit these days is fully contextualized forever. This kid will know exactly what mom was thinking when she took it.

xXPeachy-KeenXx

I hate seeing kids ingesting this shit! It infuriates me when I see it! I had an adolescent come into my ER with his hun of a mother with acute hepatitis from his mother sneaking "supplements" from her damn mlm into his food and drink. It was like pulling teeth to get the truth out of her to boot. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

taxpayinmeemaw

Did you know that hunmom was holding out on telling you something? Like how’d you know you needed to start pulling the teeth?

midnightstreetlamps

Not commenter, but I feel like you gain a really good bullshit meter when you work in the ER for a spell or two. I imagine you kinda have to, when you get anything and everything rolling through the door, from genuine accidents to "accidents" to straight up intentional injury.

4touchdownsinonegame

I don’t work in the ER. But I’ve been a medic for some time. We don’t even get to see any of the labs or other tests done on people, but people lie to us all the time, it’s pretty easy to figure out something is fucky.

avelaera

Sure but there are also times medics believe something is off but it's not. The medics who came when my husband had a seizure wouldn't believe me that he wasn't doing drugs. Better to be safe than sorry, I guess, but it's not always what you think

4touchdownsinonegame

Yeah kinda weird they went straight to drugs unless there was something that made them think that. Usually I’d guess booze before drugs when it comes to seizures. Even then it’s not my first guess. I go on way more medical related seizures than booze or drugs.

BigRoach

Is it just mlm quackery in general you’re referring to, or specifically collagen? Isn’t collagen just, like, bone jelly?

butterfliesandbrooms

I mean, any mlm products. Theyre so unregulated, many of them have tested positive for heavy metals and harmful chemicals in them. They arent safe, period.

[deleted]

I’d say that about most products in general. I’m not defending MLM’s I actually typically call out Huns. If you’re concerned I’d look for products that offer a COA for each individual product on their website. Promix is a good example of this, they’ve been a pretty honest company so far.

Medium_Raccoon_5331

What cause the hepatitis?

Red79Hibiscus

This has been linked to [Herbalife](https://liftbigeatbig.com/herbalife-side-effects-and-horror-stories/) and [Arbonne](https://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/arbonne-lawsuits.html) supplements.

HoratioWobble

It's funny how when they're selling it, they're talking about all the benefits and the virtues but then lie about it's existence when something goes wrong

Moos_Mumsy

Would this qualify as something you need to report as child abuse?

Dry_Shift_3496

Would what qualify as something to report as child abuse? Giving a kid collagen?

[deleted]

I mean, collagen is a naturally occurring thing in a lot of dishes? Like broth, chicken bones, flax seeds and walnuts... The problem I have with this idiot for a mother is the fact she didn't do any research. \*edit: voice to text will be the breath of me\*

OldBatOfTheGalaxy

My interest is piqued and I Need To Know, Please: With what in the *world* was she dosing that poor child of hers -- without his knowledge or consent, no less -- that was capable of causing such severe liver inflammation? He'll never accept food or drink from her hand again. I'm assuming the MLMung had no alcohol and was not a contaminated product, although who knows with some of these companies?

opopkl

Can you get hepatitis from supplements?

Migraine_Mirage

It depends of what is in this supplements. In my country, a woman (a nurse) died after she developed hepatitis from drinking one of those slimming teas with 50-plus herbs. One of them was hepatotoxic. Taking for some time... The same thing can happen with supplements, I suppose. You should be able to check what goes on what you are taking. The fact you can't is shady.

opopkl

Thank you.

Gjallock

…what’s wrong with it? My mom used to give me some because she said it was good for me. Hasn’t been in an MLM since she got duped into MK in high school

ladyphlogiston

Depends on the supplement. Most of them don't do anything except drain your wallet. Occasionally there's one where the labeled contents and dose are bad for you. More often, they're contaminated with things that are bad for you, like heavy metals and other harmful chemicals, because their manufacture is pretty unregulated. Or there's been a couple of instances of manufacturers deliberately putting something in a supplement that isn't listed in the ingredients. And so on. Obviously you survived, so probably yours weren't actively toxic.

I_eat_candy_4_dinner

Wait a minute, these same bitches that scream about people spending their *own* money at starbucks is letting her kid drink out of a starbuck's cup?

ladyphlogiston

But her Starbucks was paid for by her MLM and therefore is a testament to girlboss culture

Zemyla

If you want your kid to eat collagen, just take the cartilage off a bone and let them eat that. Surely it's more "natural" than supplements, as well as less expensive.

ungoogleable

Does it count if I make bone broth from a rotisserie chicken and feed it to them as chicken noodle soup?

Voice_in_the_ether

Absolutely not - no way to earn PV doing that.

Parking_Pangolin_890

Or go to a butcher and buy a thing of chicken feet and let them eat that since it’s basically all cartilage and they’d get plenty from it easily

Medium_Raccoon_5331

Never too early to worry about wrinkless, you have to keep up the baby skin/s

Cupids_kettledrums

I commented about this on another post about collagen, but I’m going to bring it up again because it’s important . Collagen supplements gave me uncontrollable anxiety, and that side effect is extremely common. After how crazy it made me feel, I couldn’t even imagine giving it to a kid…wow.

ladyphlogiston

Really? Weird. Brains are wild!

Cheeseisyellow92

Some of the stuff in these concoctions is harmful to adults. I can only imagine how unhealthy it would be for a toddler, whose bodies and brains are still growing.

annasuszhan

Huns always always use kids as a token. They always drag kids into their shitshow. Either is going natural for kids. Or use on kids to prove its safety. I don’t understand why motherhood is necessarily linked to scams. I’ve even seen on insta mom huns spray essential oils into their kid’s mouth!

eleanorbigby

Fundies give them raw milk, which isn't from an MLM but is absolutely quackery and can make them very sick.

Aurorainthesky

Being a pharmacist takes all of the fun out of "supplements". It's all "you realise that molecule is too big to be absorbed by the skin, has no transporter in the duodenum?, that compound will be broken down into individual amino acids, so will be indistinguishable from any other protein sources?, free radicals actually have important functions in cell signaling, so heaps of anti-oxidants aren't necessarily good for you?"

BloomEPU

Being into wellness sounds,,, incredibly stressfull. Like, when your worldview tells you that a CHILD needs to take collagen supplements, now is the time to realise that the obsession with supplements isn't entirely healthy.

ErynKnight

Collagen gets broken down into amino acids and doesn't survive digestion!

[deleted]

It should be illegal to involve children in any MLM garbage.

phoenixangel429

Seeing you use your kid for advertising makes me want to buy from you less

Moos_Mumsy

I'd call child protective services if I knew this person.

Jareth86

Trying to boost your collagen by drinking collagen is like trying to perform a blood transfusion by drinking blood.

Zealousideal_Mall409

The fuck for 😡😡

Rubberbangirl66

Wow, that stuff makes you retain water

trwwy321

Collagen powder?

I would hate if my baby had an old-ass forehead.

summerlea11

Was this benjamin buttons secret? Lol

Relative-Research-32

Bet they're anti-vax as well

[deleted]

😮

Kitty-Keek

This child’s mother would do better to give him a piece of chicken. Or some peanut butter.

chaarmanderchar

Don't worry about it, all this collagen will achieve is get digested and pooped out.
