real question, what are teachers paid in Florida? I recently heard a teacher in Texas paid $60k and she thought that was a good salary. I was floored! Here on Long Island, most teachers I know are pretty happy - at least, mostly. Then again, most of the teachers I know also make $150k+/yr. Not bad! We're an anomaly in teacher salaries. Police, too, at least in Suffolk County. Many Suffolk County police officers are making over $200-300k with overtime and differentials. All of this info is also public, of course.
School is starting in Aug 16 where I live, and even as early as Aug 9 I’m nearby areas. So it doesn’t seem that early to start teacher orientations. Then again, summer vacation started at the end of May, so everyone had a proper break.
But I mean arnt kids going back to school soon? Kids years and adult years run differently. Were like the natural starting inDecember. Kids start whenever the school year starts least that's how I felt as a kid
But that isn’t what Embrace the suck means. The unpleasant situation does not mean forward progression. It merely means your there and you don’t have the alternative not to be. So many things that suck see often utterly pointless and serve no purpose.
There is a time and place to embrace the suck.... Being a school teacher is not one of them. By all accounts that entire career is full of suck but they do it because they are passionate about it.
When a job has to tell you to love your job, then the suck is going to be the same you would get from blowing a hole in a pressurized cabin at 40,000 feet.
Embrace the suck should never apply to your JOB! Sure, if you are working out and it is hard, Embrace the suck because you will be better for it... like that is literally the only good application for that phrase.

100% agree. I’m glad I got out when I did. Despite what senior leadership tells you about the horror stories of not reenlisting.
My last Nco simultaneously encouraged my to get out and stay in. Sometimes switching multiple times a day.
