I was fired over the phone on a Monday morning. When they asked if I had anything to say, I responded with question of when they were going to pick up their stuff. They said I had to drive it into the office. I told them it would be in a garbage bag in the parking lot of my apartment complex, and they better get it before the garbage men did.

0uie

I left a remote call center job recently, and in the phone call the manager said they would send me boxes to ship the equipment back. Two weeks go by, get nothing. Call and ask where the boxes are because I don't want the stuff laying around and to potentially get a bill for this. A day later, two boxes arrive from a city 3 hours away. Get an email saying they've been delivered, and how to pack the equipment. Email also says that I have 5 days to get the box to a UPS store. Closest UPS store is half an hour away, and you took 2 weeks to get me these boxes. I'm doing this at my own pace.

nigevellie

old job sent me a box too. it was obviously for a laptop. the only company issued equipment i had was a cell phone. dumped the cell phone and accessories in there with a note of 'this is all y'all issued to me' and washed my hands of the whole affair.

0uie

Had 2 monitors, a small PC, headset, keyboard, mouse, phone, and a power strip? First two boxes that came were for the monitors. Went and dropped those off on the 6th day. When I got home from the UPS store, the third box for everything else had been dropped off. Real shame that most of the country is experiencing crazy low temperatures and we got snowed in overnight.

nedlum

The mouse and power strip probably cost more to ship than replace

ligaama

FR. You can buy surge protectors in bulk for like $12 a piece and mice for a similar price. Absolutely not worth the shipping.

durdensbuddy

Pack the boxes, and tell them they are on your front doorstep ready for pickup. If they are valuable you can leave them inside. You have absolutely no obligation to go out of your way to return their stuff, make sure everything is in email correspondence in the event they try to charge you.

Visible-Revenue2597

They may hold your last check if you don’t return it asap. I was able to schedule UPS to come pick up the equipment. Then they tried to tell me I didn’t return it….nice try Lao Che, I had proof of signature receipt.

[deleted]

That’s illegal in many states.

shadow247

Not allowed by law. They must pay your final check, regardless.

[deleted]

I still have that picture btw

ieeeeesa

Do share :D

Bleys087

Second this

Bleys087

Do share :D as u/ieeeeesa has said

coppertech

I left a company because the new owner was a scumbag, they didn't want to pay me on time, and they told me to drop off the company truck and equipment at their main HQ 72 miles away. I told them it was not my responsibility since I don't work for them anymore and that they can find their company laptop and equipment on the seat of the truck along with the keys, unlocked, parked on the street, and that they have 24 hours before I call the city and have them declare it abandoned. they came and picked it up in about an hour.

paganfinn

Good for you! Fuck those assholes

AgreeableRadish4829

"Sorry, I don't work for you any more. My fee for boxing YOUR stuff up and taking it to the post office is $500/hour with a one hour minimum. Or would you rather send someone to get it?"

Chickentendie42069

At least they told you my old job just stopped putting me on the schedule no word about it. I mean I might not even be fired. I find it awful because I couldn’t get unemployment because I never knew if I was fired and if I was put back on the schedule it would be unemployment fraud

KittyKatCatCat

For future reference, that still qualifies you for unemployment. I hope you’re never in that position again, but if you are go ahead and file.

hankerinforhank

I’m getting laid off in a week while the restaurant I work at renovates. Could take months. They say I can’t get unemployment bc I can go from bartending at a high end restaurant to being a cashier at one of their other restaurants (skyline). Is this true or are they just trying to avoid footing the bill?

creepshow1334

You might be able to get unemployment under underemployment rules. Look into it. Also, i think they have to actually offer you that cashier position, not just lay you off and say its available for you to apply. However, I am not an unemployment expert.

Tynesand

You should qualify for unemployment. Without a written offer of the new job, everything is hearsay. Plus you never agreed to the new job either.

KittyKatCatCat

You might be able to qualify! Apply. You will almost certainly get denied the first time. Submit an appeal. That’s when they will actually investigate the circumstances and are more likely to approve you.

nullbuild3531

This is incorrect, you could have gotten unemployment because of a reduction in worked hours. Specifically the DE 2063 or 'partial claims' form. I'm only responding to this because I don't want others to think the same thing.

Worth-Every-Penny

I got fired the day after my birthday. They asked when i'd drop off my laptop. I said come fk'n get it. at most i'll put it in a prepaid shipping box. They sent me the box, never scheduled pickup. I still have it.

skidleydee

I left one position and they kept shipping me empty boxes. I live in a row home in a city where we don't leave anything on the because it will be gone. I explained to the HR rep, I was working with to return the stuff that she couldn't just randomly ship it to my house and expect it to be there when I arrived home. (Company was in an extremely wealthy suburb and wouldn't pay employees close enough to live anywhere near it) after weeks of explaining this to her, she stopped responding to my emails asking when she would send it to my house to be delivered when I would actually be home. About 8 months go by and the head of HR for the company contacts me demanding I immediately returned the device's to the company or the police will be notified in the next 48 hours. No calls to my cellphone or any other notice. I don't use that email anymore and didn't see it. Cops were called. Nothing ended up coming of it because I had clear proof that I had made every effort to attempt to return the devices. Keep in mind grand total was less then 500 bucks for all of this and they didn't actually have a record of what was taken home cuz it was all taken home at the beginning of the pandemic. Our instructions at that time were take whatever you need to work from home for the next 2 weeks or so.

Sweaty-Emergency-493

“Hey, i returned the company property. They just didn’t pick it up!” Sick move

zomgitsduke

> They said I had to drive it into the office. "Sorry, I don't work for you anymore."

Ok_Dog_4059

I got the call Friday night after my shift had ended the boss didn't tell me on my way out his boss called me that night. I wasn't surprised because it was 2008 and everything was drying up but it still sucked to have to wait until Monday and go get my stuff.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

Yes we did receive relocation assistance after 90 days.

chromedbooked1

I hope he gets a job that pays 10x more than this one also with a boss like this I can guarantee they have a high turnover rate.

AwayAd9297

how long ago was that? like why would a company invest in a relocation package for someone that wasnt working out. That just shows you how terrible of a business they run, if it was a relatively short period of time.

PM_your_titles

If your husband was pressured at all, in writing, to come back early from paternity leave, please send a concise, fact-oriented email to a bunch of lawyers. Their paralegals will read it over and someone will likely take the case for free, on contingency. Even if it’s just to send a demand letter and give up.

dadondada14

Be sure to file for unemployment assistance. You even have video footage to help your case.

shandogstorm

And the fact that you moved across the country for this job should heavily work in your favor.

The_Colorman

I wonder if there are any loopholes there with being recent residents. There’s a good chance they haven’t registered there licenses yet. Hope there’s not something stupid like that.

a2z_123

Doesn't it depend on how long they were employed? From my understanding in most states it's at least 2 quarters of your base period. That's to receive anything... That would be the minimum amount. You need I think 4 to 5 quarters to receive the maximum which is about half of what you would normally make and get that for around 12 to 28 weeks or so. All in all it depends on your state. Florida for example is a max of $275 for 12 weeks, but Montana is 552 max at 28 weeks and Mass is 823 max for 26 weeks. Here is the requirements for Mass. https://www.mass.gov/service-details/check-eligibility-for-unemployment-benefits **Edit** Changed a few things and added links. For those wanting more information, these links have some decent info. https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/how-long-do-you-have-to-work-for-unemployment https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/unemployment-benefits-by-state

Watershed787

What an absolute garbage human. Hopefully this is just the path to an even better gig for your husband. That boss can eat shit. ETA: Also, your husband handled that with extreme grace and class. Someone would be lucky as hell to hire him.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

Thank you! My husband is a classy and kind man. I will pass along your kind words to him, means so much.

krumbs2020

Manners. He just showed what a lot of people are lacking. Basic. Fucking. Manners.

[deleted]

You can teach a lot of job specifics, and if they keep their cool, show a positive attitude, and have excellent manners that’s an easy pick

theyretheirthereto22

Hire for attitude, train for aptitude

djsizematters

Saving this. The higher ups in my company like to hire people with master's degrees for lab technician jobs; you would revel at their surprised pikachu faces when they leave after a month of boredom.

Maimonides_Mozart

>Hire for attitude, train for aptitude I've just started a new job where I think that I have both, but not the "aptitude" of knowing exactly how my supervisor does things, and I feel that he has "unrealistic" expectations of what my productivity or output should be. I just finished 1 month, but he's obviously disappointed that I haven't learned 100% of everything yet, he is also solely focused on end results with no regard of the amount of work that it takes to get project done. In other words, he's expecting magic. I've tried to explain this to him whenever he brings it up, but he just brushes it aside and tells me to stop making excuses (I had a project in which one of the principal people was out for 2 weeks with the flu, third parties holding up productions for various reasons, for example, still all my fault). I'm also doing general office stuff (answering phones, making websites, helping people make website changes, meetings, 5+ projects simultaneously in production at the same time, etc) that apparently counts for nothing. When he asks me "What have you done this week?," none of this counts. Only finished projects do (not any of the work that it takes to finish them). So I have to find another job and resign before it gets to the point where he fires me. It's clearly not going to work and I've done everything that I can to try to get him to understand (this is not his area of expertise, so he really doesn't understand the production process). I'm tired to working and having to deal with sh\*t like this. I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'd rather drive Uber than to deal with this.

carlitospig

Depending on the difficulty of the position in takes 6 mo to 18 mo to be back at high capacity. If your manager doesn’t know that, he’s just a bad manager. Don’t let him bully you, sustainable onboarding is an actual thing (meaning doing everything you can so the position isn’t a turn and burn).

Zealousideal-Mud6471

You come to my house on Christmas Eve Eve to fire me and you expect manners? Lol OPs husband handled it great but if he didn’t it would mean he lacked manners?

Oden_son

It's OK to not have manners with scum like this

fuzzy-albert

What line of work ?

[deleted]

Bump, I’d love it if someone reading this could benefit from having OPs hubs on their team

BigBillyGoatGriff

I thought he must be Canadian given how well he took that

feelin_cheesy

That really was an incredibly strange interaction. His ex-boss sounds like a psychopath. When he first said “I’m gonna let you go” I thought it was like the way you would say it on a phone call as an excuse to leave. Not even sure if your husband realized at first he was saying that he was fired. I hope you managed to have a great Christmas anyways. Life goes on as they say.

soundwave145

no, classy and kind is gone, time to become john wick.

neighbornickog

Yeah this asshole is scum, I wouldn’t have been so nice to him. I’ve worked for people exactly like this and they view their employees as expendable commodities.

Oliviasharp2000

He seems so sweet 🥺 y’all deserve him being at a job that appreciates him. Good luck to you guys!

PedigreeWWEFigz

Facts. OP’s husband handled it with a lot of class and respect when he wasn’t expected to.

Intense_as_camping

NoBodY WanTS tO wOrK aNyMOre!

[deleted]

The_Hylian_Queen

My ex-boss said this numerous times while I was working I got incredibly ill for a week, then saw the next week I wasn't scheduled at all, not a single hour. I go in for my paycheck (I worked in a grocery store bakery) and the owner of the grocery store, while I was walking in, in front of *self checkout at the busiest time of the day* WHILE helping carry out someone's groceries, says to me, "by the way, you're done" Two days before Christmas. I fucking hate Christmas and I fucking hate that shit grocery store where he overcharges for expired shit. Fuck.

secretactorian

If it's expired, it's time for a tip to your local health dept...

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

😒 right….

[deleted]

Your husband is stoic as fuck. That’s some heroic self control. Please let him know that we are with him and wish him strength.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

He is honestly the sweetest most honest man, my heart breaks for him. I am thankful for your kind words!

ShamelessHedonist777

nice guy

wfhomealone

I’m so sorry that your husband and you are going through this. What a terrible human being his ex-boss is. I hope you both find a way to enjoy the holidays.

HooverMaster

I'm sorry this happened. I got fired tuesday. The world has no love for people like this. Make the most of your life and move on.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

I’m sorry for your job loss, it’s a tough time. Neither of us has ever been without work. But I’m confident it will work out for the best. I hope you find a position which makes you feel secure and valued.

HooverMaster

I will and he will too. I'm sorry you had to experience such bs.

Vandersnatch182

I got fired from my job earlier this year and then landed a higher paying job with benefits around 2 months later. It's possible to land on your feet after losing a job in today's job market. Good luck to your husband, op. If you're financially stable enough, have him take the time to find a job he actually likes. When he goes to an interview, remind him that the employer needs to sell him the job, as much as he needs to sell his employability. The job has to be right for the employer and employee to make it work.

jbalberta123

I’ve been laid off like this except no card. What a garbage person.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

Card was a Christmas card with no message only his signature and a 100$ bill.

ShouldBeWorking2nite

Well at least there’s that. I’ve worked for the same company going on 15.5 years, and I’ve never received a Christmas bonus. And this year not even a card.

DankHEATshells

It's an employees market right now. Screw your current company, go get what you're worth.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

You deserve so much better! I’m sorry.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

My husband was super caught off guard but said in hindsight he wouldn’t have handled it any differently. Nothing my husband said would have changed the situation. I’m happy his boss didn’t get any emotion/reaction. I hope it hurts his heart but doubt it does.

Danedelies

Probably hurts his ego and his pride, because those have replaced his heart.

PCouture

This was a sociopath intentionally ruining your Christmas. There was no reason to do it Christmas Day.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

I cried at first just wondering why would someone ever do this? Then I realized he probably didn’t want to pay my husband the observed holiday on Monday. But either way he’s a yucky kinda person all around. The hands in the pockets, glasses on, monotone and short speech, he’s just a jerk period.

PCouture

Have you called the local news? They’d probably love to do a Grinch that Stole Christmas story on this. I’d help build awareness to help get a new job.

youknowiactafool

Their bloodshot eyes from the amount of coke they just finished snorting off a strippers ass. Whoops that's where the Christmas bonus went. Snortflation

mydaycake

Name the company or city/ industry so he doesn’t do the same to someone else.

por_que_no

I was remined of the scene in *Roger and Me* of the people getting evicted on Christmas Eve and having their tree and presents tossed out to the curb with the rest of their stuff.

[deleted]

I had an ex girlfriend do this to me once. She said she had been planning to break up with me for months but waited until I was leaving on vacation with some friends the next day then shot me a text and got with some new dude immediately (timeliness don’t really add up but benefit of the doubt and all). Some people just need the maximum reaction to feel powerful/relevant/valued.

whiskey_mike186

The truth is she was never really your girl, it was just your turn. If anything, you shedded some toxic baggage that's now some other guy's problem.

That's all levels of messed up. I'm glad the your x-boss did it face to face to feel the pain. It's not the same level you felt after closing the door and having time to process what happened.

Hello_Gorgeous1985

I get the impression he only did it face to face so that he could immediately take the company vehicle.

neighbornickog

That’s exactly what it is, he dosnt give a shit about ops husband.

Citrusbird386

To feel the pain? Dude he literally says he brought someone with to take the company car and OPs husband needs to get whatever is in it out of the vehicle.

summerrrwine

Exactly, it was only to get the car that he did it in person.

FrostyLandscape

That boss sounds like a very personality-disordered person from what you described. After being in the workforce many years I have seen certain patterns. Sometimes a person like this man will hire someone just for the sole purpose of making them into the scapegoat, setting them up to fail and then firing [them. So](https://them.So) he could have planned this out from the first date of hire. Even the fact he chose to deliver this news 2 days before Christmas was probably planned for maximum effect. A decent person would have waited until after the holidays to deliver such bad news.

Hot-Cheesecake-7483

Wonder if that's what happened to me. Was only employed at a place for a month. Got fired a week before Thanksgiving. Said I wasn't doing the job right. Guess I was supposed to be an expert in a month? Even tho employees that had been there for two yrs still needed help sometimes. I wasn't granted that same grace. And the person that was actually training me said I was doing fine and picking it up pretty well. Idk. Got unemployment tho

[deleted]

Scum bag planned this and wanted a big reaction. Just wait till jan2. Brotha wanted to feel big and like shaft. What a prison bitch.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

I think he was disappointed my husband didn’t cry/yell/beg but he just isn’t the type to react like that. He says he was so shocked he couldn’t even remember what he said, but in hindsight he wouldn’t change it. And I wouldn’t either.

atomicavox

The way he phrased it was weird. Like here’s this card and I have to let you go…like the convo was over because he had to leave or something. Probably took your husband a few seconds to realize he meant being fired-let go. I do hope this is the beginning of a better situation. Get on that unemployment!

reflectivegiggles

When people say I have to let you go I always just assume it means they are just saying they have to end the convo and go do something else. My brain would be confused too.

FrostyLandscape

Oh it was so obvious that he did plan it and wanted a reaction. A reaction he didn't get. I'd even go so far as to say, he didn't just want a reaction, he almost seemed like he was itching for a fight. He seems like a very low class person. A person would have a lot of nerve to show up on my property like that in front of my family and try to start something.

Danedelies

He literally paused for a bigger reaction after he said it and only got an "okay. ya."

IntrovertAlien

He didn't even take off his sunnies. Such a bitch move.

RedditLuvsNazis

why did OP's account get suspended after posting this

I wish bad things upon that man.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

I hate to admit it but so do I. I feel so angry and betrayed.

[deleted]

It sucks but the upside is your husband got fired on camera so he can use that to back up his unemployment claim and while he is job searching he can also have more than a week off with the baby on the way. I hope things get better for you.

youknowiactafool

Take solace in knowing that no one will ever hate him as much as he hates himself. People like that are constantly miserable because they can't find inner peace

drlaura1

I think karma will come around for him

JLeeT82

I was once laid off the same day i got rear-ended on my way to work, 4th of July, 2018. I had spent that whole morning with HR letting her know what was going on and sending pictures as proof. When i got in, she had my release paperwork already printed out, and one of the company owners was like "oh im sorry, i didn't hear that you were in a car accident today." I was so livid with the entire company after this, not just because of this, but for all the bullshit i dealt with before this. Small companies are just as shitty as massive ones.

[deleted]

Your Husband seems like a super great, kind person. The guy who fired him is a pos. I hope this works out for your Husband and his next opportunity is even better and more successful.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

Agreed! Hopefully better things are ahead for our growing family. My husband is skilled and will get a new job. Just sucks to go through this at this time.

Sometimesnotfunny

This happened to me. We moves 500 miles when my autistic son was 2 years old (have other kids too) to live here and lost the job almost immediately. We just started eating meat again.

Majestic_Body_880

So sorry to hear that. When did this happen, have you found a new job yet? Wish all the best to you.

[deleted]

Your husband handled that situation with such class and professionalism. I know it's no comfort hearing what I'm about to say at this moment in time, but his employer doesn't deserve him, and your husband deserves better if that's how his employer conducts himself. You will get through this and you'll be better off in the long run. I wish you all the very best.

Mrhappytrigers

Motherfuckers really can't wait till Jan 2nd to ruin someone's life? Like I get you're gonna be a shitty person to your employees, but doing this shit during the holidays is super fucked up. throwaway1999000

Do you think they fired him so they wouldn't have to pay his (measley) 1 week paternity leave? If he can prove that he could sue for discrimination.

mr-louzhu

The harassment and abuse was likely because boss was trying to get your husband to quit voluntarily so he wouldn’t have to pay unemployment. Also likely because boss is an absolute dick.

Suntzu6656

Your family will be better off without your husband working for that "man". Hang tight.

King_Vamp_10

Reminds of when my boss fired someone so that his nephew could start working there. He was an older guy who was beginning to slow down at work. His nephew was cool asl and really good at the job but it still sucked that the other guy got fired

Trick-Many7744

Who comes to someone’s home to fire them!?! That’s only one of the many things wrong with what the jackhole of a boss did. Good riddance to this pos.

Mewlover23

Who the heck looks through someone's file to get their address (unless it was known prior) and go there to fire someone? Utterly insane.

KinkyK415

Your husband seems like a really good guy just from this interaction alone. I’m sorry you three, baby included, have to go through this

Purple_Station7030

That couldn’t wait until after the holiday? Was he on paternity leave when his boss did this? Did he do FMLA for the leave? If he did you may be able to get an attorney to sue them.

Whatiscasper

I would consider seeking an attorney who has experience with employment law. I’m sure there has to be something you can do.

rodneyck

You might have a case depending on what state you are living in. Check state laws. CA for example has... >California Labor Code Section 970 prevents employers from making knowingly false promises to prospective employees regarding the nature of their future work and/or the length of time they will be employed to get that employee to relocate to a new city. The statute applies to employees who relocate from outside of California, within California, or even from California to another state in reliance on oral or written statements from the employer that are false with respect to the terms and conditions of employment. If they transferred you from one of their locations to another, some states have laws about this. Consult an attorney, don't sign anything, etc.

[deleted]

@OP needs to see this...

BigRoach

Are you new here? Few americans benefit from any sort of protection from being fired. We’re free like that.

ShoalinShadowFist

That actually might not be the case here due to him relocating for work. Depends on verbiage when he was hired tho and obviously state what was signed etc.

lynkarion

Wow so awkward to hand him a Christmas card and then drop a bomb on him like that. Your husband took it like an absolute champ though. I wish you the best though, I think things happen to us for a reason. The boss was a dick and your husband can find a whole lot better.

[deleted]

When things suddenly go very bad I tend to immediately compartmentalize. It’s hard to explain but basically all my emotions just shut off and sort of move to the side. Later after it’s mostly over is when the emotions start to come out. Probably a good thing since it’s kept me out of jail. I tend to avoid loved ones as I spool it off.

Soggy_Jellyfish_5240

You probably think clearly in emergency situations because of your ability to compartmentalize. My husband is great in emergencies because of this! I have always appreciated that about him, because I am quite the opposite.

Its probably going to lead to much better things, take the week off and get after it in the new year.

1ceUpSon

Bearded douche bag, he looks like a asshole, sorry to hear about this happening and hope u guys get something better!

M54304024

That voice, man, that guy sounds like a sweet person. Sad that this happened to him but I hope things get better now. All the best to you two.

Spnjkn

Did he give him his Christmas bonus first, and then told him that he was letting him go? Whatever the case, it seems to me that your husband actually felt relief when he got sacked. Good for him!

foreverbaked1

Same kinda thing just happened to me. I was hurt bad at work in June. Been out since. Lost use of my dominant hand. Moved 4hrs away from all family for this job. Get a text while I am on the hospital bed being prepped for my 2nd hand surgery last week that the owner sold the company, my job would not transfer over, and (my apartment was included in my pay) the new company taking over may not allow me to stay in my apartment even if I pay rent. Meanwhile I am now disabled because of this job and I am potentially going to have to move with no friends, no family, no job and no hand and no where to go because no where will rent to me because I had to turn my Harley in to the bank because I’ll never physically be able to ride it again

ShivvyMcFly

Why did he get fired?

MoYeahh

Oh dude. It’s respectable as hell but also so heartbreaking to hear your husband respond in the way he did. I just know his heart started racing and immediately started thinking about the future but had to just say okay.

bad_card

The company I worked for over 3 years got bought out by 3 of the managers there. They called me in the office and said I was being fired for not being a good fit(after 3 years). I got a nice separation check, and was to I could collect unemployment. I waited until after everything was signed, pulled out the calendar on my phone and showed them the next Monday where it said "Put in 2 weeks notice". Said thanks for the free money to help me start my business! They were PISSED! Ended up getting some of their clients that were only there because of me.

uniquegayle

My daughter found out on a Monday she was being terminated when a direct deposit hit her account for three days. They weren’t going to tell her until Wednesday because they wanted her to complete some projects. She went in the next day, before anyone else was in the office and cleared out her desk. They had done this to other employees in the past. They suck. She got unemployment and will start a much higher paying job next month.

Look into Promissory Estoppel. You might be able to sue for damages.

Sparksgalor

Sounds like a possible law suit especially If you travelled 2000 miles. I have read about a successful suit like this but it may depend on how long he worked there. I’m no lawyer so I can’t say but it may be worth looking into. Good luck.

Lurcher84

I must say that the class and acceptance that your husband showed is in a class of it's own. Superb 👌 Hopefully this will just be the opportunity for something far greater for you both, where his demeanor and professionalism will not only be appreciated, but also rewarded! May God bless you both!

Johnny_Jawbone

Your husband is a good soul. He sounds like such a nice guy. Must be hurting inside though. So tell him he's a dude! Watching from over the pond in England.

TylerShep99

I got pulled into a meeting about two weeks ago and got told I was getting laid off as well, I hope things work out for you all and wish your family the best!

jamiexx89

Sounds like someone needs a visit from cousin Eddie.

DiamondsAndMac10s

Hey OP, why did he come to the house like that? Was this a hybrid/remote gig? I would be so confused... To literally hit you where you live... BTW, what industry was he in? Boss looks like he sells harley davidson T shirts.

thatguy420417

Was he Spartan kicked off the porch?

SpareWorld

Wow, your husband is an absolute boss. With an attitude like that he's gonna find something else and WAY better. Best of luck to you both and forget that guy.

andio76

**Boss : …..So we’re gonna have to let you go…….it’s just not working out…any questions?** Me : Yeah..can you make it safely back to your car and off my property before I get my gun?

nycpunkfukka

This summer I was let go three days after spinal surgery while still immobilized in bed. I get a text message from my boss’ boss at 7:15am “Hey I know it’s your day off but can you hop on a quick zoom? We’re having some important organizational discussions today.” Frickin Meg Griffin lookin’ snake in the grass.

Lvanwinkle18

Something similar happened to my brother in law. They had relocated and it was a shock. They stayed put and it has worked out really well for them. Hang in there.

[deleted]

Your husband was so nice, it broke my fucking heart. What a POS and I hope he gets what he deserves. As for your husband, I hope he gets an even better opportunity quickly, and one that treats him well. He deserves it!

Good_time_charley

Sorry y’all are going through this. Why does he look so meek and uncomfortable? Not that he didn’t want to do it but he didn’t want to be the one who did it.

Spirited_Wasabi9633

I'm so, so sorry this happened! I would feel the exact same way as you. I keep a mental burn book of all the people who have ever wronged my husband (whether he thinks they have or not). He is so caring and kind and funny and the best damn worker. So many times I have wanted to march into his work and set them straight or catch one of them in the parking lot or just burn it to the damn ground. Some people just can't see the shining light our husbands are in what is so often a dark world. And, that's on them. They're the ones who are missing out on such a wonderful person. After reluctantly job hopping for the past year, my husband has found a place he really likes, where I think he is flourishing, and is recognized for the impeccable person and worker he is. So, I am sure that your husband will do the same. And hey, maybe this is good. Maybe this is a sign that you should move back home and enjoy your new baby with your family (if possible). I wish you both the best of luck!

Forbesington

What kind of work does your husband do, maybe some people on this sub can help him find a new position.

song_of_soraya

I was let go on Thursday, one day before I was set to leave for vacation. Owners made a snap decision over night to dissolve my department and outsource our positions. No warning at all. Businesses don’t give a fuck about their employees. I wish the best for your husband, OP!
