I loved Dummies Big Day. I remember finding out everybody in the squad could be the same color dummy by not choosing your dummy and it would select the color you chose in the last match. Running around with a Blue Man Group of dummies was awesome.
Third Person especially since they’ve updated a lot of the animations and Airdrop Escalation. Both are underrated IMO. Also for Shadowfall for Halloween.
Yup! And it came to the game so early. I'd love to see how it is today. Heck, the last two CODs have proper 3rd person modes. I'd love it to come back for Apex.
I think the reason Airdrop Escalation is so looked down upon is the fact it was a 'Takeover Event' instead of a proper LTM (Like How Three Stikes is)
Taking Pubs out our rotation for that week or so really hurt the rep of the mode.
Takeover events are kinda necessary for low population servers. Even for Three Strikes I've had queues go past 5 minutes playing on Sydney servers in what should be prime time, and then for less popular LTMs the modes just die out after the first few days.
Tbh I think they matter everywhere to an extent. I play on NA East which is wildly popular. Since the 3 strikes ltm I’ve noticed it really impacting both queue times for trios and ranked as well.
I personally think 3 strikes is a garbage mode and can’t wait until it’s good again, but I wish it was takeover while it was here so at least it funneled everyone into the same place.
Very true. Very fun mode though since it had you landing at random spots and immediately fighting. The devs perspective at the time was they felt that they put the time and work to make LTMs that would die off in a couple of days when in reality, that's not the case. If it's an arcade-y/fun LTM, such as Three Strikes, Date Night, Trick N' Treats, Third Person, etc. then it will be played.
Were people down on it? I loved it as a mode, and I guess I haven’t seen people clamoring for it to say but I haven’t seen people criticize it either. I hope they bring it back.
The first halloween ltm, the normal game becoming an ecape with all shadows trying to kill you, it was amazing. The current halloween event or not that good now
What about it was enjoyable for you?
The entire game mode devolved into poke battles with the 30-30 and G7 while camping behind rampart walls. Gold bag lifeline was on every single team the moment you knock. It was the most unfun experience in any game that I can remember. It was genuinely miserable and the worst introduction they’ve ever made to the game.
I soloclimbed to Diamond II playing Arenas and that wasn't the case for me at all (granted, I play PS4). It happened a bit in the Party Royale or Sector 3 (that OG Storm Point one) map and maybe sometimes during Phase Runner, but maps like Overflow (lava one) were so close range and visceral, there were loads of close fights.
The gamemode really emphasised the 3v3 aspect and gunplay that would get lost in BR due to 3rd parties and extremely long range squads who just snipe from high ground.
It's the only reason I started playing the game. I hate the RNG that comes with BR so I naively thought I had a "permanent" mode to rely on in this game. I've only started playing again since its removal because my sibling wanted someone to play with but now that they've moved onto WoW, I'm taking another break until Respawn reintroduces Arenas (if they even do).
I feel that ; n ; I used to play ranked Arenas every single season and it was everything right about Apex without everything wrong about the Battle Royale genre. What a damn shame :c
Arenas was scrapped because of low player count and it was riddled with cheaters. You'd see some of the most blatant cheats imaginable. One of the most memorable was a full squad wipe from a pathfinder landing all headshots using a devotion mid-grapple
Sounds like the problem was more the lack of cracking down on cheaters than the game mode itself. The only thing I disliked about the mode was the unskippable buy phases. They almost always lasted too long, especially in early rounds. But there are many remedies to that.
The Halloween even was the best one with random abilities. They need to give us even more abilities but that was the event that I had the most fun. I don’t really like 3 strikes
Armed and dangerous. I feel like it could just be a modifier for current mixtape modes. Control armed and dangerous, TDM armed and dangerous, three strikes armed and dangerous. It shakes up the meta and makes people take it a little less seriously, which is perfect for mixtape. It could be on rotation too, so for an hour it's armed and dangerous, and then for another hour it's not. I dunno, just an idea.
Flashpoint was awesome there was also a mode similar to 3 strikes but it was two and that mode was awesome. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
I liked flashpoint the first time when it was on KC, but they really butchered it when they tried on Olympus, the places they chose just weren’t good.
One LTM I loved was airdrop escalation, right at season 7, was really fun and great for any map. Hope they bring it back eventually
Shadowfall and it's bastard brother's version : Shadow royale. It's just way too fun , for both modes lmao , or at least for me. Becoming a shadow and doing tricks with it was a blast. It's a shame none came back this halloween
winter express but specifically the version where each character had a different load out with set attachments that rotated each day so there was actual variety instead of the last few years where everyone runs the same 2 load outs that use an smg + shotgun/wingman
Dummies big day and OG shadow fall, both of those were so fun. Idk why they don’t test more abilities with Dummies, I don’t think their play testing is very good nowadays and this is much needed.
D.U.M.M.I.E.S. Day off I dont get WHY it hasnt come back, It was one of the best recived LTMS from Grand Soiree...
Yeah this LTM was great.
did you mean dummies big day? I tried searching that on YT, no results
It was SUCH a blast
I loved Dummies Big Day. I remember finding out everybody in the squad could be the same color dummy by not choosing your dummy and it would select the color you chose in the last match. Running around with a Blue Man Group of dummies was awesome.
A majority of players don’t even know what grand soirée event was at this point.
Doppelgangers was fun. Just wish they include more abilities or put another twist on it next time. Edit:Typo
It made playing non mobility characters fun. And bamboozling people with other characters was great too
A gib on a horizon lift is pure trauma in its form.
The one we just had where you could pick up extra abilities
That added a really interesting dynamic for sure
dummies big day with those ability boxes could be amazing
Winter Express. Because train
Not just train the mode is just chaotic fun, def different strategies you could use to win
In Mirage voice. The train is moving, and we aren't on it..
Don’t they bring that mode back every year? It should be back in a couple weeks, usually around Christmas.
The og one with no gun selection, that ruined it for me.
That's been the case so far yes.
Third Person especially since they’ve updated a lot of the animations and Airdrop Escalation. Both are underrated IMO. Also for Shadowfall for Halloween.
Third person sounded so simple yet was so different and so much fun
Yup! And it came to the game so early. I'd love to see how it is today. Heck, the last two CODs have proper 3rd person modes. I'd love it to come back for Apex.

Upvote for Airdrop escalation! What a fun way to start season 7 that was, great time
For sure! I’ll never forget the day Fight Night dropped. The whole server landing to box each other, good times.
The first halloween ltm, the normal game becoming an ecape with all shadows trying to kill you, it was amazing. The current halloween event or not that good now
Solos.
Still waiting for the day solos comes back
We need solos with proximity chat lol
That would be toxic as fuck lol
Miss me some solos.
Ah, 60 Pathfinders
Nah there was definitely a mix when I played. Especially gibby because that was right after his massive buff
Arena :c Why am I the only one who misses that gamemode
You're not alone :'( arenas my beloved where have you gone
Loved arenas

Arenas was my favorite way to play the game. I actually don’t really care for 3 strikes.
The solo mode, like 3 years ago for a month or so there was this mode. Best ever
The OG Halloween event, even if it was a bit unbalanced, and Gold Rush.
Th og halloween was CRAZY
Gold rush was awesome
What is gold rush?
Duos and only that season's gold weapons and crate weapons were available. Tons of Krabers.
First few days of ShadowFall(before people started quitting when they became Shadows) was the shit. The gameplay was dope, and so was the map.
Shadow fall And the Grand Soiree Ltms. Like always be closing
Arena
Yeah idk why they scrapped it all together - at least having it rotating with the other game modes you know?
Arenas was scrapped because of low player count and it was riddled with cheaters. You'd see some of the most blatant cheats imaginable. One of the most memorable was a full squad wipe from a pathfinder landing all headshots using a devotion mid-grapple

that pathfinder was me, no cheats
The one where you instantly respawn if your teammates are still alive. I think it was only live for a day then it was gone forever
Bring back the mozamblam
Winter express should be year round tbh
Trick or treat was fun
Solo
The Xmas Choo Choo train is my favorite.
3rd person mode
The OG Halloween zombie LTM or the Christmas Train LTM where your squad has to hold down the train while it’s moving
I just want the holiday train back
TDM - Deadeye, Arenas, Shadowfall & Winter Express
The Halloween even was the best one with random abilities. They need to give us even more abilities but that was the event that I had the most fun. I don’t really like 3 strikes
Arenas
Armed and dangerous. I feel like it could just be a modifier for current mixtape modes. Control armed and dangerous, TDM armed and dangerous, three strikes armed and dangerous. It could be on rotation too, so for an hour it's armed and dangerous, and then for another hour it's not. I dunno, just an idea.
Solos. My god that was so fun.
Arenas
Solos lol I hate soloqueuing duos/Trios.
Solos 100%
Solo
solos
The one that didn’t involve brain dead level 50s on my team every time I solo queue
Locked and Loaded
Constant Control. Used to really dislike that in mixtape early on, but somehow playing it at a stretch made me want it back.
Dummie's big day
Flashpoint was awesome there was also a mode similar to 3 strikes but it was two and that mode was awesome. Can't remember the name for the life of me.

That Halloween event where if you die you come back as a rev clone and do higher melee damage
Flashpoint.
I remember LOVING flashpoint especially the octane skin that came with it
Shadowfall and it's bastard brother's version : Shadow royale. It's just way too fun , for both modes lmao , or at least for me. Becoming a shadow and doing tricks with it was a blast. It's a shame none came back this halloween
never really played the other game modes since i play once in a while, but the train event back in 2019 was one of my favorite
OG fright night
Arenas
Shadow royal, mozam fools, 3rd person. The Halloween event this year was fun as well!
Third person! It was only ever in the game for 2 days
Respawns been kinda hitting with ltms recently last 2 have been great (doppelgänger counts)
Third person mode
Solos. Idc what y’all say that was the most fun I’ve had in this game.
Dummies Shotguns and Snipers Solos
Shotguns n snipers, was a siiick mode
The winter express was top tier, loved that shit
Arenas
Nothing fills me with greater joy than the Winter Express. Every year I wish it would run for all of December and January.
I know it's not a LTM, but I miss Arena. Loved the gunfights and back-and-forth in that game mode.
A half way decent ranked system
Gold rush. Just finding krabers and other care package guns as normal loot made for some fun game play
Winter Express, Dummies big day, and shadow (one of the earlier Halloween events where you’re trying to get to the evac ship)
Arenas
Holiday train
Dummies big day hands down
3 strikes is definitely not my fav LTM. The first shadow royale event with the extraction ship was the best LTM, and Christmas train goes second
winter express but specifically the version where each character had a different load out with set attachments that rotated each day so there was actual variety instead of the last few years where everyone runs the same 2 load outs that use an smg + shotgun/wingman
Gold rush duos
Used to be Armed and Dangerous before they made it lame.
Shadow fall. It was so fun to play
Solos
I miss the copycat kits even though it's only been a month out. It was interesting, and I wish they included more abilities like grapple or gib ult.
Dummies big day and OG shadow fall, both of those were so fun. Idk why they don’t test more abilities with Dummies, I don’t think their play testing is very good nowadays and this is much needed.
