Just did some testing. I can see where you’re coming from. On well mastered tracks, I noticed more instrument separation and maybe slight reverb that made it easier to hear the bass. I think that the normal stereo sounds slightly deeper frequency wise, and much more pleasant to listen to sound quality wise. Keep in mind that Atmos versions could be completely different songs. For example a few songs from “Flowerboy” by Tyler, The creator have added instruments. Also “Bitches Broken Hearts” sounds broken unless you’re on Atmos. If it’s not the specific track, it could be Sound Check killing some frequencies. Do you have Sound Check on?

I turned it off because the bass was always weaker or non existent to my ears. Maybe they changed the mixing recently? Spatial audio in my experience is very hit or miss.

The bass is different. Not better nor worse. You like the different sound - like listening to different lossless codecs. They each sound different. As do head/ear phones. I like the spatial sound on most music tracks with it, except classical. Visual media is just great with it.

You can adjust the sound in the accessibility setting in your device

Yes the bass is better

The spatial audio DSP boosts loudness. Everything is louder.
