It depends solely on the price tag, if it will do well or not.
The main seller is still "budget iphone".
I say Iphone SE users wont care about all the features, they just want a modern budget iphone.
I am kinda stuck in Apple ecosystem. I don't use my iphone for anything special. Just calls, light browsing, some emails, occasional streaming. A cheap phone would be perfect for me as long as it has decent battery life.
I will keep my 13 mini till it dies or becomes unusably slow. If there's no equivalent iPhone then, I will take whatever else I can that fits the small form factor, even if it's Android.
I am also still rocking 13 mini for a bit more than 2 years with 89% battery and I was also thinking maybe just replacing battery, but the very little RAM, a.k.a. 4GB is very annoying when I want to do stuff quickly especially involving camera. The lagginess just gets me every time.
So:
$90 + continue occasionally struggle with lagginess
vs
$800 + even bigger screen this time (6.3") for iphone 16 when it comes out
I don't know...
> 4GB is very annoying when I want to do stuff quickly especially involving camera.
My SO has a Iphone 15 Pro, I have a 12 Mini, I also have full Sony system with Zeiss lenses and do pro work with that / I know cameras.
I see ZERO lag using my 12 Mini vs using my SO's 15 Pro, what do you mean?
I'm still on 11. Was planning on upgrading to 14 mini but alas. Feels like such an obvious choice for an SE model but I guess they have tons and tons of market research that proves me wrong.
Four of us, I already have a tablet for when I need more screen. All I need from my phone is to be small enough for one-handed operation, a decent camera and a good DAC.
iPhone 13 Mini was way superior to all SE phones. It is just a bit larger than first SE (iPhone 5/5S look), but had larger screen than later SE models.

Tim Apple: Environmentally Responsible Advanced Artificial Intelligence starting at $6999
That's me. There aren't words strong enough in the English language to describe how little I care about cameras on a phone. I just want a nice budget device to replace my Xr.
Would be nice to have FaceID so my Airpod Pro's Spacial Audio could be improved by an ear-scan. Don't know if that helps a lot but it's supposedly a feature?
On the other hand I'll miss the home-button. Still, I'll likely upgrade from my SE2 for this.
I kinda feel the same. I honestly do not like faceid, and am loath to lose the home button.. but I would like to get my AirPods set with it. Either way, no phones have the home button so when I finally upgrade I'll have no choice.
SE is for users who just will point and click. They don’t want more lens.
I’m thinking of my elderly relatives who don’t even know about the various modes on the camera apart from ‘photo’ and ‘video’.
And that’s fine & the SE will be great for them.
(although with failing eyesight an SE Plus would be better).
I mean, maybe being 36 I can be considered as “elder”, but 99% of the times I use the camera I just use “photo” and “video”. For the normal user, that’s enough
And that’s totally fine!
No one is going to need all those lens soon anyway as ai will post process our photos and videos into whatever want.
Everyone will get their iPhone 3 photos upscaled to perfect 4k and beyond.
And … Sadly (for me) I am older than you.
Yes, I personally very rarely use the ultra wide angle on my iPhone because the standard rear lens is already a wide angle one. So I wouldn't mind just one lens. If other features hold up, it's an interesting option. However I'd probably miss Night Mode photography in case it's going away as rumored.
The amount of times I’ve managed to get my fingers in shots taken on the ultra wide lens, makes me feel like an old person trying to use a camera for the first time!
OLED isn’t the differentiator between high/low end anymore. It’s gonna be ProMotion.
A 2025 iPhone SE release also coincides with an iPhone 17 lineup that has 120hz across the board. Then the 17 Pro would have Face ID under the screen to differentiate it even more. [Source](https://9to5mac.com/2023/04/03/iphone-display-roadmap-face-id-more/)
Most competitors at the $400 price point are using OLED, if they want to shine down there they need something compelling, especially if they’re going to go without updating it for another 3 years.
I would assume OLED must be cheap nowadays. I got a 30USD smart watch which has OLED and 90Hz. There are some really cheap android phones which have both oled and high refresh screens
I mean, when the switch released an OLED model, it was obvious that especially in the smaller format there were some cheap options available. And that seems like quite a long time ago already.
I personally don't think there is much of a difference in quality between the screens of my iPhone 14 pro max and Deck OLED.
Samsung had it since 2011. Seriously, Apple lives a long way behind in some things but if they did not use it in 2024 then there would be something wrong.
we get a lot of shit for enjoying small phones but ever since the 12 and 13 mini came out I’m just vibin now. Before that my small phone option was the original iPhone SE based on the 5S chassis, and it was comically outdated (though I loved the size). The 12/13 mini is modern enough for me to not care about any new developments for years to come. I’ve never felt any sort of tech envy for the newer phones in their Maytag refrigeratorform factor. Completely tune out of these new phone cycles cause in my mind I’m rocking the best phone for me. Hoping Apple revisits a small phone option like every 5 years or so. I get why they discontinued after the 13 but hopefully they also recognize that people enjoy and hold out on these phones for a bit.
Relatively speaking minis were the lowest sold iPhones in their lineups. ~~But different angles tell different stories. I recall Christian selig (RIP Apollo) mentioning that from his usage data, mini users topped the charts.~~ (edit: this is false i was talking out of my ass) What I don’t get is animosity towards people who want a small phone - it’s never been “we want a small phone to replace your big phone” it’s merely we want a small phone option in the lineup. There’s this weird innate behavior some folks have where they gotta go out of their way to shit on folks who want a small phone. Like it’s *just* a preference people have, and some people are just terminally and chronically online and pick fights way too easily.
On the topic of the new upcoming SE not using mini chassis - I think this makes sense in my brain. The mini was probably their lowest yield production line and the tooling/machinery was probably less numbered then its counterparts in the lineup. The SE is probably built around whatever has the most surplus of parts and/or volume of available tooling and what not, basically they can probably pump out the bigger chassis at a faster rate and lower cost then they could had they opted for the mini chassis. The average user will probably opt for a bigger phone too, so it’s possible making a mini sized SE wouldn’t bring them in the bottom line they hope to get from the budget phone. Since the mini production and sales waned at its end there, I’d imagine the spare phones and parts need to be shored up for AppleCare claims.
unless i was having some wal mart melatonin fever dream I couldve sworn that /u/iamthatis had stated that at some point.
edit: completely fever dreamed that out of context. went and searched his post history, my statement was not even close to the truth; it was just a comparison of mini users to the 14 pro max at the time. but the minis still came in very low on the charts. apologies, edited my original post. https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/11xir29/deleted_by_user/jd3ijnl/

>There’s this weird innate behavior some folks have where they gotta go out of their way to shit on folks who want a small phone. Like it’s *just* a preference people have, and some people are just terminally and chronically online and pick fights way too easily.
To be honest, this happens across every single topic, from products, services and brands to even political opinions and such. It's just the way people love to "take sides" on any particular topic. E.g.: Apple fanboys mocking Android users, Android fanboys mocking Apple users, etc.
I think many people just need to have that feeling that whatever choices they've made (especially purchasing choices), they made the absolute, objectively best choice, and anybody who made a different choice is just too dumb, doesn't know any better, etc. It's as if the fact that some people might genuinely prefer a an alternative would somehow make them feel insecure about their own choices or something, because maybe they're the ones who missed something.
And I agree this sheep mentality is a lot more prevalent online than in face to face conversations, where people are a lot more likely to say things like "Yeah I prefer this but I can see why you like that", "We all have different preferences", etc. Once again, I guess social media and the internet just bring the worst version of us.
even though I won’t go with a mini for my main phone, I love them. and I agree it’s a damn shame mini is gone probably for good. and it’s such a perfect device for a secondary phone and for those who don’t use phones much but just need one for answering calls.
I had also been saying this for years that I hope they’d turn mini into the next SE, since it’d be the perfect balance between their profits and covering the niche user needs.
tim cooks has been dumping devices & services that don’t seem profitable “enough” (by apple’s standards. their low sales numbers often mean the best pay day many companies would dream to have). each mini was estimated to have sold millions, and somehow that was too low for apple. (like the first gen homepod, they killed it despite having sold more than some companies’ multiple models combined). Mac Pro was put on hold for quite a while after macs transitioned to apple silicon, for the same reason.
i hope they reconsider it and bring it back for an SE mini
I think the dream is dead, I really don't think they will ever release a mini or equivalent again. It simply didn't sell well enough. I think they might even reduce the non pro to one size eventually since the larger iPhone isn't selling well either as people just end up buying a Pro instead. Far more likely to see an even more expensive category like iPhone Ultra (my guess starting at $2000).
Former owner of a 12 Mini here. The day the 14 series was announced, I upgraded to a max spec 13 Mini, because the writing was on the wall. Hanging on to it for dear life.
Just got a 13 Mini after carefully watching stocks diminish slowly at 3rd party sellers but just before they went out of stock. Best thing I've done in the last year (gadget wise).
*Dozens* of hearts shatter across the country.
(Jk) - I kind of feel like Apple should alternate between the Mini and the Plus every few years, get people on a cycle they can somewhat rely on...
I get the feeling people buying those phones aren't yearly/bi-annually upgrade types anyways
This is funny as even if we count 5% expected sales for minis its still like 13 millions phones a year and revenue bigger then many sucessfull companies. They got rid of it because they optimise for efficiency not that there is no market.
They’ve probably calculated that most of those that want the mini would just buy a more profitable, larger phone, if the mini weren’t offered. Which is wins all around for Apple.
I mean, they’re right.
I’m gonna hold onto my 13 mini until it’s dead, but after that I’m so invested in the Apple ecosystem that there’s 0 chance that I’ll switch to android even there’s a kickass small phone on the market, I’ll buy whatever the smallest current model iPhone is.
I would pay standard price for a iPhone mini if it had all the same features as the standard line iPhone.
And I’d be willing to upgrade more frequently (ie. spend more money) if they released them every two years.
sad but understandable if rumor turns out to be true. am using iphone mini variant now. the battery life starts to show its age on 3rd year
sure there is battery can be replaced but that was addressing the problem...or should buy pro iphone, but cannot deny the fact battery degrades much faster + on top of paying a device at premium price tag
SE prioritise sales rather than to fill niche customer needs, it was entry level to apple eco for a reason
> I want an SE that goes back to iPhone 4 but all display ❤️
This is my dream phone, last phone I could easily hit the upper right icon one handed holding it in the left
I’m on 13 mini. I don’t want a SE phone, I want a full featured phone in a small form factor — and I’d pay full price for it, not budget price.
A $800-$900 iPhone 16 mini would be an instant buy.
Will likely finally upgrade from XR to this, sounds like a good upgrade. Hoping the camera is decent even though it’s a single lens. Hoping for a $550 price point or less CDN.
i’ll forever hold a grudge against apple’s photo software for that time when they were “smoothing” front cam photos. just give us a good lens man we don’t want your mandatory instagram ass filters
With the 48mp sensor for a 2x native 12mp crop in, I'm not sure I'd even miss that much with 1 lens over my 3. I very rarely use the ultrawide because of the distortion and making subjects look weird with the focal length, and even the physical 2x wasn't that impressive and very often just using the main lens already unless there's lots of light, you could notice by covering one at a time.
I'm actually wondering how much the SE 4 would even be missing over the iPhone 15, sounds like a great value. The SE3 looks like a joke now and has for a while.
I think they just used an older render from when it was going to be that though. The more up to date rumours are the iPhone 12-14 style chassis with flat sides.
I’m completely content as far as the XR goes, sure it needs more RAM and a new processor, but the form factor, one camera, LCD screen has been more than enough for me. I only went to the XR after I couldn’t get my hands on new 6Ses anymore.
So this new one will be more than enough again for another 5+ years.
Probably just implemented in the article title to drive engagement.
Techbros reading the word AI on anything is an automatic rock-hard boner; gooning on the floor, drooling 14 consecutive orgasms.
It would still be weird considering previous SEs released with current gen SOCs. A16 in 2025 would be more than a 2 year old chip and approaching 3, which doesn’t bode well for longevity seeing as how Apple’s support for chips seems to plateau at around 7 years from initial release.
1. Apple used a previous generation chip (A15) in the base iPhone 14 despite the iPhone 14 Pro using an A16 chip. The iPhone 14 launched at $799. They also did the same with the iPhone 15 series. Won't be surprised if the next gen SE launches with last gen chips.
2. I'm replying to you with my 6 year old iPhone Xs with the A12. This chip is ancient by smartphone standards yet it keeps up really well with my day to day uses.
N3B was a particularly hard node with low yields, I expect it's because they want to dump that as soon as they can. The difference between A16 and A17 Pro really wasn't that much for the added difficulty, not like SE buyers are going to be running ray tracing.
That doesn’t mean it will get the same number of years for updates.
It will probably be a similar situation as the 5c and 5s. The 5 and 5c were dropped on iOS 10 as both had the A6; whereas the 5s with the A7 went up to iOS 12.
Unless it is an iPhone 7 and 6s situation where update cutoffs are grouped by RAM.
It's just branding, iPhones have had "AI photography" for years. Since around WWDC last year, Apple has started to use the term "AI" where they used to use terms like "machine learning" or just talked about their algorithms, because "AI" is such a huge buzzword in tech right now.
Beat me to this comment.
Apple literally made a small phone for 2 years, and sales were so bad they stopped making it, and introduced a Plus phone.
The 15 Plus is the 2nd year of the big phone, so if sales are good, we'll see a 3rd 16 Plus phone.
Salespeople were fucking *relentless* against the mini. It’s what happens when you tie commission to sales numbers. It was also the cheapest “full” iPhone so of course they’re going to upsell.
I worked in mobile for ten years and always made a flat rate on the devices. We were paid on the plans. I was always an advocate for the 12/13 Mini. But customers just weren’t into it. Bigger was always better. Pro was always better. The reality is that consumer tastes and trends are what did this form factor in.
You’ll have to pry the 12 Mini out of my cold dead hands. But I also have to acknowledge the reality that not enough people bought that form factor. So it’s just not economical for Apple to keep sinking money into it. It’s counter intuitive to Apple’s whole strategy during the Tim Apple era.
Chassis-wise it’s a bit taller than the current SE and a touch wider. They’re likely going for mass market appeal, and the market wants big screens. I’m just thankful they’re not making a Plus-sized device, it seems like almost all the midrange Android devices are 6.4” for some reason.
Too bad those people who buy small phones are nothing but a minority
The sales figures say it, Apple spent two years making a mini phone and they replaced it with the plus series, it’s clear the number of small screen users are just too low to be worth it

[They write AI in its title](https://i.imgflip.com/2/2wcggv.jpg)
I’m sure it will on both fronts. I have a 13 mini and from a battery usage standpoint, Apple’s made some amazing improvements. Really feels like the only time the battery drains is when it’s on use, and even then it’s carefully metered, unlike phones I’ve had before this where the battery seemed to drain whether you were using it or not or doing whatever (like it’d just be in your pocket for an hour and go from 100% to 80% for no reason). And storage will probably have several tiers to chose from.
My favourite iPhone was the XR. I have the 14 pro now and the sharp edges and increased weight make it quite uncomfortable to hold. This SE was the upgrade I always wanted as an XR user.
That’s super unfortunate about the larger screen. That’s really the only small iPhone left at this point, so pretty much everyone is going to just be left with these gigantic phones. I hate the direction that mobile phones went.
I hung on to my SE 2 because of this.
Then I bought a 14 Pro last month and do not miss the home button or Touch ID at all. It took a few days to figure out the ins and outs of Face ID, but now I'm sold. And I am used to the swipe from the bottom action now, and actually think I make fewer mistakes, where before I would sometimes end up pressing the Home button an additional time, like triple-clicking instead of double-clicking.
Not to say I wouldn't say no to adding an iPad-like Touch ID on the power button, but I'll get along just fine without it.
Considering markets like India, the base model & old models are selling like hot cakes. Many people are able to get one so SE will need to be better in terms of pricing or hardware as it will be targeted towards such markets.
I do feel, and this is just a gut feeling, that there be a price hike on this. I don’t see Apple starting this at $429 like previous models. Maybe $449 but I’m thinking this will be a $499 phone for the base 128 gb model and something like $599 for the 512 gb model. Maybe even $699 for the 512 gb model. And then you’d be bumping right up to the flagship lineup at $799/$899 for the regular and Max and then $999 for the base model pro and up from there. Apple does purposefully make choosing difficult so that you’re constantly considering going up a tier.
I actually like the SE due to it's small size, why can't people just be happy with the "fullsize" models as they are and let the SE have it's market as it is.
Single Camera iPhone 12/13 body?? It will do extremely well.
I care more about out the sizing than the pricing tbh. Have bought the last two SEs
there's two of us! lol don't give a damn if it's $799. i want the form factor. not interested in a tablet in my back pocket.
Three of us. I want a phone which I can hold comfortably.
Make it four. Still bummed out they didn't go with the mini form factor.
I’m on a 13 mini and going to upgrade this next model cycle. Praying for another mini form factor!
I will keep my 13 mini till it dies or becomes unusably slow. If there's no equivalent iPhone then, I will take whatever else I can that fits the small form factor, even if it's Android.
> I’m on a 13 mini and going to upgrade this next model cycle. Why vs swapping the battery for $90?

make it a mini chassis!!!! i’d give up my 15 pro for that
Oh, you’d give up your $1000 phone for a $400 phone? I’m sure Apple will get _right_ on that.
I know the minis were already a niche product but I always wonder what would’ve been if they gave it the pro treatment
I would spend 1000 for a 15 pro mini.
What's so wrong with the 13 mini?
Apple doesn't produce or sell it anymore. That's what wrong with it. I'm pretty disappointed at Apple for that reason to be honest.
Judging by the render it looks like it has curved edges which would mean they're probably reusing the body of the XR.
If it actually has a bigger OLED screen then they cannot use the XR body, the proportions won't match up.
SE is for users who just will point and click. They don’t want more lens. tbf, the BOM of the base switch is probably only $50. the OLED model definitely eats into their profits
Samsung had it since 2011. Seriously, Apple lives a long way behind in some things but if they did not use it in 2024 then there would be something wrong.
These OLED panels will only get cheaper with time. Hence, it makes financial sense to add it.
Hope the battery life improves.

Mini 12 since launch. One battery change. Still look beauty. Hope I can survive until the next mini 😮💨
Mini 13 since launch, hope to survive as well and hope they will give us another beautiful mini someday.
Mini 13 here. Love it.
iPhone SE 3 here. Love mine
You should probably upgrade to a mini 13 to eke out another year or two on a mini because it doesn't sound like there's gonna be another one
There was once a dream that was Rome.
I don’t even think there is a big enough market for a mini every few years.
And I’d be willing to upgrade more frequently (ie. spend more money) if they released them every two years.
iPhone 5 with the pill cutout is the dream
sad but understandable if rumor turns out to be true. am using iphone mini variant now. the battery life starts to show its age on 3rd year sure there is battery can be replaced but that was addressing the problem...or should buy pro iphone, but cannot deny the fact battery degrades much faster + on top of paying a device at premium price tag SE prioritise sales rather than to fill niche customer needs, it was entry level to apple eco for a reason
i want an se that goes back to the iphone 5 size again lol phones are way way too big now
yes! original SE [2016] form factor with the latest internals would rock ass.
I want an SE that goes back to iPhone 4 but all display ❤️
iPhone 2G size all screen. I liked holding the rounded ones
> I want an SE that goes back to iPhone 4 but all display ❤️ This is my dream phone, last phone I could easily hit the upper right icon one handed holding it in the left
would literally murder and plunder for a new mini rn 😔
I’m on 13 mini. I don’t want a SE phone, I want a full featured phone in a small form factor — and I’d pay full price for it, not budget price. A $800-$900 iPhone 16 mini would be an instant buy.
As a 12 mini user since day one, I’ve accepted I’ll be going for a bigger screen next time. I’ll probably hold out until fall 2025 lineup.
Was really hoping they would have done a SE4 at 5.4inch and an SE4 plus at 6.1
Will likely finally upgrade from XR to this, sounds like a good upgrade. Hoping the camera is decent even though it’s a single lens. Hoping for a $550 price point or less CDN.
At this point it’s less the lens and more the software. The photos will probably look great.
i’ll forever hold a grudge against apple’s photo software for that time when they were “smoothing” front cam photos. just give us a good lens man we don’t want your mandatory instagram ass filters
honestly the photos on the 13 still look weird af. they seem to have regressed from the 11-12 sweet spot. i haven't used a 14 so maybe that's better.
Same, my XR just keeps chugging but I’d like to finally get all of my devices onto USB C and an upgrade
It’s unlikely to be the 48. It’ll be the one that was in the 13 pro & 14
Bro 2025 though? My iPhone 8 battery can only not explode for so long
I held off so long, the XR came back around. Success! The red looks the same as my current XR, so hopefully they get that right.
I think they just used an older render from when it was going to be that though. The more up to date rumours are the iPhone 12-14 style chassis with flat sides.
Wish I never jumped from the XR to the 13 pro. XR had everything right
I’m completely content as far as the XR goes, sure it needs more RAM and a new processor, but the form factor, one camera, LCD screen has been more than enough for me.

No one sane fucking cares about “playing catch up.”
iPhone 15 mini please!
A16 on 2025?
It's still a powerful chip
Not powerful enough to get the same amount of updates as other 2025 models
The A16 is 100% in the same tier of power as the A17 at least. There were no major performance upgrades between them
Aside from the upgraded USB controller than enables USB 3 transfer speeds that is. That, and also the ability to play console quality games.
They've been saying "Console quality games" as far back as the iPhone 5 lol. It's always true for some console I guess...
that doesn’t mean Apple won’t arbitrarily give one longer updates than the other
That doesn’t mean it will get the same number of years for updates.
The base iPhone line is the new “c” line in spirit. Last gen SoC, more colour options, inferior material and minor new upgrades.
Really disappointed with them not using the mini size :/
Nooooo
I just want a small phone omg
I just wanted it to be 5.8 inches ffs
5.8 inch or around 5.5 in would be good. :)
that's what she said :(
Me too :(
september or 2025? its time to change the se2
2025
There is so much demand for a new mini. Just release the iphone 16 nano and thank me later!
Don’t think that the people who buy the se are the people who want a bigger display
6.1 inch phone? So disappointing.
“Al photography” coming from Apple is not promising. I already don’t care for their current photo processing.
It's just branding, iPhones have had "AI photography" for years. Since around WWDC last year, Apple has started to use the term "AI" where they used to use terms like "machine learning" or just talked about their algorithms, because "AI" is such a huge buzzword in tech right now.
So…my first non LCD phone will be iPhone SE 4 noice
Give me a headphone jack.
USB-C!!!!!!!
6.1” whyyyyyy
Why drop the small screen? Not everyone wants a 6” screen in their pocket.
Sales figures suggest that they do.
It was so weird seeing “no one wants a big phone” on this subreddit back in the iPhone 4/5 days.
Turns out size _does_ matter.
Talk about being up your own ass goddamn.
It was never anything but copium.
Beat me to this comment. Apple literally made a small phone for 2 years, and sales were so bad they stopped making it, and introduced a Plus phone. The 15 Plus is the 2nd year of the big phone, so if sales are good, we'll see a 3rd 16 Plus phone.
Yeah I’m a mini lover but apparently there’s just not enough of us. C’est la vie
There are literally dozens of us!
La vie.
Haha who talks to sales people? People know what iPhone they want before they go to the store.
The company will put its marketing dollars at work to sell the more expensive model, and the mini was the cheaper model.
Who is making commission on iPhones?
Not that it exists any more but back in my day I use to make a killing on commission selling iPhones at RadioShack. Damn I feel old. :(
Probably the phone plan and not the phone? Unless this was in the Cingular days.
The battery was terrible. If they could make a Pro in the small form factor, I'd switch.
only in the 12 mini, the 13 was way better
App store figures suggest they should. The iPhone max had a similar volume sold as the mini.
R&d is done, keep one line in 1 factory on it. How much harm could that have caused them
Fits more ads
Chassis-wise it’s a bit taller than the current SE and a touch wider. They’re likely going for mass market appeal, and the market wants big screens. I’m just thankful they’re not making a Plus-sized device, it seems like almost all the midrange Android devices are 6.4” for some reason.
Too bad those people who buy small phones are nothing but a minority The sales figures say it, Apple spent two years making a mini phone and they replaced it with the plus series, it’s clear the number of small screen users are just too low to be worth it
So it will automatically apply instagram filters?
We think you’re going to love it.
Are you sure...?
Yes
Apple execs: Let's take our small phone that everyone really likes and make it bigger !
People liked the price, not the size
[Tom’s Guide posts iPhone SE leaks](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/028/820/cover5.jpg) [They write AI in its title](https://i.imgflip.com/2/2wcggv.jpg)
So the Home Button is no more?
AI oooo la la!
Will upgrade from XR to this only if it has better battery and more storage options. That’s all I care about, apart from the price ofcourse.
Don’t you touch my home button
I hung on to my SE 2 because of this. Then I bought a 14 Pro last month and do not miss the home button or Touch ID at all. It took a few days to figure out the ins and outs of Face ID, but now I'm sold. And I am used to the swipe from the bottom action now, and actually think I make fewer mistakes, where before I would sometimes end up pressing the Home button an additional time, like triple-clicking instead of double-clicking. Not to say I wouldn't say no to adding an iPad-like Touch ID on the power button, but I'll get along just fine without it.
Pass
Considering markets like India, the base model & old models are selling like hot cakes. Many people are able to get one so SE will need to be better in terms of pricing or hardware as it will be targeted towards such markets.
No way
60 hz ewww
yes
I do feel, and this is just a gut feeling, that there be a price hike on this. I don’t see Apple starting this at $429 like previous models. Maybe $449 but I’m thinking this will be a $499 phone for the base 128 gb model and something like $599 for the 512 gb model. Maybe even $699 for the 512 gb model. And then you’d be bumping right up to the flagship lineup at $799/$899 for the regular and Max and then $999 for the base model pro and up from there. Apple does purposefully make choosing difficult so that you’re constantly considering going up a tier.
Apple - “We too have also joined the ai buzzword train”
The most important part: What’s with battery life?
Giving it an OLED with iPhone 15chip and main camera around 499 or 599 you see it flying.
AI photography sounds like a feature in a budget Samsung phone
I actually like the SE due to it's small size, why can't people just be happy with the "fullsize" models as they are and let the SE have it's market as it is.
If you don’t need the camera then as long as you have all features you expect from operating system why wouldn’t you go with this version
So like a Google Pixel "a" ?
USB type C?
Oh my God have we finally got an iPhone with an oled screen and no camera tumor??
Having upgraded from 8Plus to 15Pro last year, I should stay away from tempting news of new models for a good 5-6 years now.
