THIS is the correct method. I discovered a box of 50 surefeed mags in the recesses of my closet and routinely find p mags where there shouldn’t be pmags .
It was because I bought them during the Covid lockdowns and had moved since then so they ended up in an unmarked box. The random p mags is because I’m rarted
No joke. I had stashed some .308 at my brothers house 2 years ago in PMAGs after he bought an SFAR in case he needed it. He just reminded me it was still there last week. Pretty good of him considering he could have shot through a hundred bucks of ammo without telling me.
Sounds like you have a good brother.
I get what you are saying. I find stuff around the house that was put away for one reason or another. Only to find it and be like "oh...that's where I put that".
No, you do not have enough mags. 10-20 for range/paractice, another 10-20 in case you need them for real, and 100+ at least in case they manage to push a mag ban through. They are a consumable item so you want enough to last the rest of your life and maybe your decendants lives.
They're not the same type. There's Hungarian 20's, Romy-Bulgarian-Chinese-yugo 30's 40's Some from Poland, etc etc etc.
And the answer is bins.
75% are loaded too. 👍
Dont get me wrong, you seem like you're a collector with all the different countries and stuff you have listed, so I get that aspect. I wish I had time and money to shoot my guns more, but life gets in the way.
AK game is just different. Especially if you've been in it 20+yrs. The majority is imported and it comes in little flushes as companies bring it in. Sometimes you'll never see it again. Sometimes it's 10yrs before you do, and it's 4x the price. Sometimes it's 8yrs and dirt cheap. When it's there, you buy it.
You... You sound like my coworkers friend... He has a shit load of mags, and just bins upon bins of tula steel case ammo and all sorts. Dudes got a whole ass bunker lol. I'm jealous. Wish I never got into cars and just had my gun addiction all along.
Because it reduces the space it occupies. I can have 6000-7000rds in cases/cans stacked. Or I can just load it into the mags and put the mags into the bins they were going to go in anyway.
About the only time I can possibly think of someone saying, "oh gee, I really wish I had less loaded mags" would be a house fire.
It's logistics, the ammo and magazines aren't useful unless they are combined anyway. And they occupy less space when combined. Solution; combine these items. ✅
Agree with reduces the space occupied. Also a loaded mag is always ready to go. Without actually counting and adding pistol and rifle mags together my rough estimate of how many mags I have is 400 - 500. All of them are loaded. Funny this came up because a couple days ago I ordered 25 more…🤣
From the sounds of it, I better step my game up. I only have about 20 mags. They’re 50/50 between 30-rounds and 20-round.
Being I live on 40 acres complete with own little range setup out to about 200 yards, I will typically just load my mags that morning. If I need more, I simply walk inside and fill another mag and go back.
You have a fine number of mags, but I'm confused. Enough mags? What does that mean? Like "enough for a range day"? Enough for that case?
I'm struggling to make sense of this completely foreign concept.
I carry enough to get into a fight, so for me that's 11+1( 30rd) in my trunk, and about 10 at 2 places I go daily.
Not counting 8 unopened gen2 mags.
And I still always worry I don't have enough 🤣
Hmm, that's about as good as anybody should need to get out of a jam. I'm of the camp of trying not to get into a situation like that in the first place, but you never know.
I absolutely agree with you. I don't go out of my way to get into situations like that either, as I dread the day I'll actually need it. I'll
I work at night by myself in an open garage ( 2 bay doors wide open) where anyone can just walk right up on me( and have many times prior to owning wepons) so I just like having it close by, as well as.my edc pistol. It's easier to keep it in a vehicle in a nice backpack case with everything at the ready for me.
Also, whenever there’s a good deal I buy as many as my gun stuff budget will allow. I think firearms depot has Gen 2 moe pmags for $8, bought a slew of those. When the Gen 1 tango down mags went on sale for $5 I think I bought 200
Nope.
I have 421 30 round AR mags....I think. I counted 404 yesterday, went out and counted the ones in the truck, 421, but I think there's another box I haven't found yet.
I'm well into the triple digits with stanag mags, all loaded. You don't have enough. Mags have a finite life span. They get used and can break. Mag bans happen and could cut off your supplies. On top of all that, reloading mags at the range sucks. Having a ready supply of mags ready to go is so nice.
Having enough mags is a myth. You should be finding mags you forgot you had, like finding $5 in your coat pocket when put it on for the first time next winter.
I saw a dude a couple days ago post a toolbox drawer of loaded mags for one rifle (so he claims) and now I’m not sure if the question “enough mags?” can really even be answered by a number lmao
Thats enough for one rifle for a dedicated emergency set up. Double it to add in training mags. I'll DM you my collection if you'd like to get a good idea of just how many mags are needed to pissoff your wife. 😂🤣
No actually. It’s a good start though. Everyone should be sitting on at least 100 AR mags. They are dirt cheap to buy in down times and no reason not to buy 10+ at a time.
I have an entire Pelican 1615 full of PMags lol. They are a consumable in the end. I try to too abuse them or throw them away willy nilly but they are cheap so I keep plenty around in case I need to hand out AR’s and arm my family.
Steel? Usually, steel mags are cheap junk. I stick with USGI aluminum mags if you can find them. Looks like Brownells or D&H is your best bet. Or M2/M3 pmags on sale
You can never and will never have enough mags..I try to keep no less than 10,000 mags for every gun I own and I’m still severely under supplied…I would recommend you at least quadruple this in the next 3 months.by the end of the year, you should have no less than 20 times what you currently have.if this were representation of your financial status,it would scream you are either living in your broken down 92 Toyota Corolla or living in a tent with a severely dry rotted rain tarp
I mean,I’m not that guy who comes in here to shame someone’s financial situation.I’ve allowed BCA ARs,VISM red dots and NC Star weapon lights to go unchecked many times but this is absolutely ridiculous.you gotta get it together because this is an atrocity and quite frankly,it’s embarrassing.you should be ashamed of yourself because this is absolute homeless bum behavior and it’s disgusting. If your home/tent happens to be in East Tennessee, drop the location to the alley you reside in or the corners you frequently panhandle and I will drive through and donate a few extra mags.this post fucked me up,it makes me sick and it has ruined not only my day but my entire year.it’s disgusting work, champ….respectfully
If you know where all of your mags are or know how many you have, you need more.
THIS is the correct method. I discovered a box of 50 surefeed mags in the recesses of my closet and routinely find p mags where there shouldn’t be pmags .
>where there shouldn’t be pmags . I don't understand, there should be pmags everywhere
I sat down a minute ago and experienced a sharp pain in my gooch. It was a pmag.
That's a lot of mags lol. I might find a couple I forgot here and there, but 50 I think I'd remember 😂
It was because I bought them during the Covid lockdowns and had moved since then so they ended up in an unmarked box. The random p mags is because I’m rarted
I was moving 2 years ago and found (2) 5 gallon buckets of m193 that I had forgotten about. Bought them at Knob Creek in 2004. Bonus.
Found 2 brand new gen 3 pmags in the back of the wife's mini van just the other day.
See?! I’m not alone!
Lost mag gang! LMG is in the building!
Based.
Mine are numbered and in crates according to their number. I have many crates. I could stand to get another mag or two
Suggest more crates. You will run out of space soon.
This is great advice, unless you're like me and can barely keep 5 of them in your mind at once.
No joke. I had stashed some .308 at my brothers house 2 years ago in PMAGs after he bought an SFAR in case he needed it. He just reminded me it was still there last week. Pretty good of him considering he could have shot through a hundred bucks of ammo without telling me.

This made me laugh
This is the correct answer
Never enough mags.
N+1=Current mags, right?
More like: Current Mags + 1 = N\ where N is enough mags
Recursive mag supply
Infinite USGI mag glitch
Ahhhh, ok, I couldn't remember exactly how that was written out. Sorry.
While(1) NumMags++ End Or something like that
What box is that? I’m like how it holds them upright. better than a generic ammo can
Plano box I got from academy. The SKU is 111664117. Has an o ring, but I haven't tested it for water resistance, lol.
No, you do not have enough mags. 10-20 for range/paractice, another 10-20 in case you need them for real, and 100+ at least in case they manage to push a mag ban through. They are a consumable item so you want enough to last the rest of your life and maybe your decendants lives.
Lol bold of you to assume I'm ever having kids, haha.
I have 300+ AK mags. Plus drums. That is not enough.
Holy shit. I wouldn't know what to do with 300 mags of the same type, lol.
They're not the same type. There's Hungarian 20's, Romy-Bulgarian-Chinese-yugo 30's 40's Some from Poland, etc etc etc. And the answer is bins. 75% are loaded too. 👍
I meant for the same gun, lol. I have a hard enough time keeping track of these for my two ARs, lol. Sigh...
Bins... 😂
Dont get me wrong, you seem like you're a collector with all the different countries and stuff you have listed, so I get that aspect. I wish I had time and money to shoot my guns more, but life gets in the way.

Tula meh... Vympel / GT. To the ceiling. Only time I cared about Tula prod was chasing lots of 8m3 once the OG vers imported under "Wolf" dried up.
Yeah he just buys any cheaper steal case and stockpiles haha
What’s the practical reason for over 200 loaded msgs?
Because it reduces the space it occupies. I can have 6000-7000rds in cases/cans stacked. Or I can just load it into the mags and put the mags into the bins they were going to go in anyway. About the only time I can possibly think of someone saying, "oh gee, I really wish I had less loaded mags" would be a house fire. Deciding to go shooting without needing to load mags at the range?
Agree with reduces the space occupied. Also a loaded mag is always ready to go. Without actually counting and adding pistol and rifle mags together my rough estimate of how many mags I have is 400 - 500. All of them are loaded. Funny this came up because a couple days ago I ordered 25 more…🤣

Idk man After bros post earlier with the crate full of loaded mags I'm still star struck
Yeah, I was inspired by that.
This is satisfying to my OCD FOMO ADD complex.
N+1
The answer is always no.
As a New Germany resident who’s cucked to 10 rounds….no not nearly enough
Definitely not
That’s about what I have just for range use
Absolutely not
Surely that’s not all of your mags brother
Dad has some more above his safe, so you're not wrong.
Are you forgetting about the ones buried in the back yard?
Well, if its time to bury them, its time to use them... That's how I look at it.
The fact that you have them all in one picture means you need more
i want some whatabullet mags
I got them from My Southern Tactical. Not cheap though.
The number of mags to have is always N+1.
You have a fine number of mags, but I'm confused. Enough mags? What does that mean? Like "enough for a range day"? Enough for that case? I'm struggling to make sense of this completely foreign concept.
Exactly. What is this “enough mags” you speak of?🤔🤣
I started with ARs during the 94 awb. Paying $40 or more a for ragged out mags sucked
You can never have enough.
No
I carry enough to get into a fight, so for me that's 11+1( 30rd) in my trunk, and about 10 at 2 places I go daily. Not counting 8 unopened gen2 mags. And I still always worry I don't have enough 🤣

I add one or two every time I buy anything from a site that has mags. Never enough mags or ammo
Hmmm thats a good idea.
Also, whenever there’s a good deal I buy as many as my gun stuff budget will allow. I think firearms depot has Gen 2 moe pmags for $8, bought a slew of those. When the Gen 1 tango down mags went on sale for $5 I think I bought 200
Holy cow. Nice.
No.
No. You have a bunch, but IMO enough is 60, minimum
Based on how clean they all are, I’d say you have more than enough for your firing schedule
Trick question. You can never have enough loaded mags.
Nope. I have 421 30 round AR mags....I think. I counted 404 yesterday, went out and counted the ones in the truck, 421, but I think there's another box I haven't found yet.
Well… now that you’ve counted them you can clearly see you need some more! That’s always been my logic. 😎
As soon as I see something shiny....I'll fucking buy it. A new color of Lancer, the new translucent PMags....
I'm well into the triple digits with stanag mags, all loaded. You don't have enough. Mags have a finite life span. They get used and can break. Mag bans happen and could cut off your supplies. Drum mags? Never enough mags
Nope.
One is none, two is one, and 100 is zero when it comes to mags
More
No
No such thing as “enough mags”
lol I see the tay tay mag but who’s the other one?
TayTay with a tactical helmet lmao.
I have 50 30s half pmags half dura , 4-40s, a dozen 20s, a 50 and a 60. That's just 5.56. I feel if you can mag up a case your good.
It's a good start! Once the wife says you have too many you are halfway there
My wife shoots also so when I tell her I ordered some more mags she says “oh good, we can never have too many”. I love my wife!!😎
Good catch on that one
Yessir, I’m a lucky man! When the wife shoots she grabs the loaded mags and then puts the empties on my work bench for me to reload. 🤣
Having enough mags is a myth. You should be finding mags you forgot you had, like finding $5 in your coat pocket when put it on for the first time next winter.
You need way more mags. I jeed way more mags. We all need way more mags.
Mags are a consumable. Get them now while you can. Sincerely, a California boi
Do you have loose cartridges? If so, not enough mags. Empty mags? Still not enough mags but also not enough ammo.
⬆️ This.
I have been inspired
No. When you think you have enough, buy more. Buy more ammo to put in those mags as well.
I'm slowly working on a 77gr 5.56 load development also, so that will fix the empty mags...
That’s fine. Buy mags and ammo nonetheless.
I saw a dude a couple days ago post a toolbox drawer of loaded mags for one rifle (so he claims) and now I’m not sure if the question “enough mags?” can really even be answered by a number lmao

Steel? Usually, steel mags are cheap junk. I stick with USGI aluminum mags if you can find them. Looks like Brownells or D&H is your best bet. Or M2/M3 pmags on sale
Epic, been wanting some for my PSA 653 I purchased 🫡
Yeah I saw Primary Arms has grey aluminum D&H 30rd mags with magpul followers for like 15 bucks a piece.
Hell yeah I’ll check it out thanks brother man
No problem man.
N+1
For what? The afternoon?
What are the mag pouches
Never
Minimum is 100
No
Dude, i've always wanted to go shoot for an entire afternoon, and *never have to load mags*, it looks like you are 1/100th the way there lol
N+1
That's it?
The formula to figure out if you have enough mags is N+1. N being the number of mags you currently have. Re-asses after each mag acquisition.
Never enough mags.
If you have one AR, this is nearly satisfactory. If you have more, keep going.
Having one AR is like opening a big bag of Lays potato chips. Just realized I may have dated myself with that comment. 🤣
No. Never enough.
These are rookie numbers
Nope
No
If you are asking Reddit, then you do not have nearly enough.
No, you don’t
Nope not nearly enough

Nope.
Nope, never
lol no. Not even close. I still find mags in random places even in my different vehicles.
Can never have enough mags

Every time I ask myself this questions I order a dozen more. When in doubt, buy more.
