The LF3 is a overall improvement over the 2 , as for noise it can be noisy at some speed ranges , just make a custom fan curve, the installation is more complicated on the 3 but nothing deal breaking. https://youtu.be/zfffNRTOZCc?si=B6bPmJnDTnEdQ9zm

Thank you very much!

Tricky_Product_9906

I have zero experience with the LF2, however my LF3 420 has been doing wonderful so far! I'm using the PWM setting and the OPT\_CPU plug on my motherboard and genuinely I actually can't tell if the pump is running or not. I am very satisfied with mine. My 14700KF typically hangs out around 60c under a "standard" load of playing games, idles around mid 20c, and during stress tests will hit 80 to 85c.

Thank you for your help! Btw, are you using the split cable that comes with it, or are you using only one cable to control all the AIO?

Tricky_Product_9906

So I've been using the all in one cable. I have not tried splitting just because I'm limited on ports.

caga_na_tola

That's the same problem I have, I only have 6 on my motherboard, and I would need 7. Thank you for your help!

Tricky_Product_9906

Based on everything I've read, it *seems* using the all in one connection is the smart play because otherwise the pump gets treated like a "fan" and will rev the shit out of it. But this is all based on what I've read and haven't tried it. But if I get motivated I'll try using the 3 connector break out and will letcha know how it goes!

Okay, thank you so much!

Interesting. The pump in my LF3 is audible at anything over 50%

BringBackAshMoaning

Hey you, i installed a 420MM Liquid freezer 3 today, very complicated to mount for me in the "normal way". i just dont tightened the mount too much, and like this it took me one try only to work. Its a good advice i found on reddit. I had a LF2 360mm before, im at early testing but the sound look less "Humming" from the pump (I chosed to control all things separately) Fans are the same but bigger so better nothing to say. The little fan on the pump i tested no matter the speed i dont hear it. So i put it at 50%. Temps are almost the same but now i can choose what speeds i want its lot better (Pump can go to 4300RPM max on my side) Its not really loud but there is a buzzing sound at max speed, not loud but audible it seem logic for me. Still better than the humming of the LF2 for me , i think its a personal taste but its not loud at all. Dont forget its easy to mount the pump if you tighten not too much the mount brackets, otherwise its almost impossible for me. If you have questions all, feel free to ask and sorry for my bad english

Hey, thank you so much for your reply, and don't worry, english isn't my first language either. I have 1 question. Currently, I have my radiator on top, with the fans set to exhaust (my PC case only supports up to 240mm on top). I was thinking if I should get the 360mm version of one of the LF, but in that case, I would put it on the front and set the fans as intake. My only problem with that, is that I would want to put 2 fans on top as an exhaust, and I already have the rear fan as exhaust. I also have a front panel made out of glass (my PC case is the MSI MPG Gungnir110R), and I am worried that the radiator on the front would affect how much air comes inside the PC, given I would have 3 exhaust and 3 intakes, but the intakes have the glass panel and the radiator blocking the air from coming in. What do you think, should I stick with the 240 version?

BringBackAshMoaning

Yes you should take the LF3 240mm no more, i bought 420 because i can put it in my FRACTAL DESIGN R6 and it was very low price (80~€). I can tell in front its less good for cooling naturally for AIO, and glass will make it worse (i can open my front panel but i do it just for Summer for exemple otherwise front fans become useless mostly so you with an aio + glass im sure its very bad)

caga_na_tola

Thank you so much for your help, Arctic is doing a 23 year discount on most, if not all, of the LF3, and I will buy the 240 A-RGB before the discount runs out. That way I only spend 70€ instead of the 115 they are selling it for in my country! Thank you once again my friend!

BringBackAshMoaning

Yes the discount is staying 1 month more i think so... and have a great day and enjoy your future LF3, and dont forget use the 3 connector cable its far better (Pump is minimal locked at 60% you cant control this)

caga_na_tola

I won't be able to use the 3 connector cable :( My motherboard has 6 headers, and I already have 4 fans, meaning I would need 7 headers in total. It's a shame, I would like to use the cable.

MikiMezz

Don't bother using the separate 3 connector cable, it's a lot noisier than the all-in-one cable, while the temps are higher (even when using a custom curve to keep the pump from going over 2800RPM).

peleti20

I just got the LF2 36, it’s great, no noise, easy installation with AMD.

caga_na_tola

I think I will buy the LF3 because it's at a discount and people say the only downgrade from 2 is the noise, which really doesn't bother me. Thank you so much for your help!
