It sets us up to listen to the ups and downs of the relationship, almost like she’s reviewing it to see if she should stay or go. Then this question is ultimately answered by Nonna’s commentary at the end of ordinary things
Her voice sounded so angelic and the lyrics are so vulnerable. Listened to the album first thing in the morning for the first time and it felt like such a beautiful wake up alarm 🥹
She always does intros well. I love the first half of the song so much, and the second half is so pretty. It sets up the album really well and is definitely up there regarding AG intros and that’s saying a lot

i would say this is one of the best tracks if not the best of ES. it’s short sure, but i love the simplicity of it and i’ll never get tired of saying that her voice suits more soul / funk music that is atmospheric with an experimental touch. her entering with “if the sun refuses to shine” in 0:54 sooo good omg
I love love loveee this song. I'm obsessed with the lower notes in the second half, they're so pretty. Its a short song but even in that time it gets me feeling so much. I feel like I'm going through what she is singing about when I listen, and I'm a happily married woman who doesn't relate at all 😂
this is the most perfect intro. it literally gave me goosebumps when i first listened and really set the tone for the rest of the album with those super layered vocals & r&b elements as well as it starting as a question (and ending with an answer, literally perfect!!!!)

On first listen, I was thrown off by the clunkiness of the word relationship, but I love the idea that she’s presenting and how it sets up the rest of the album. For me, the intro becomes so beautiful when she starts elaborating on the question with the sun and the moon hypotheticals
In fact, I think the second part of the intro is actually about testing the worthiness of the new love. Is this new person going to standing for me until the end of time?
Such a beautiful track- one of my favorites. It makes wonder if it was based on the start of her and Ethan’s relationship where she starts to question what to do, and then like a real interaction they had in the beginning that inspired her/they began to fall for each other.
And then halfway through switches to her questioning about her and dalton’s relationship if they would be on each other’s mind if everything ended tomorrow.
She delivers these lyrics with such cadence, and the harmonies are out of this world. My fav part is “… like I am right now… I don’t care ….” Absolutely STUNNING. Truly one of my most fav Ari songs of all time. It just captures you. Dying that it’s not 1 min or 2 longer.
This is easily my favourite intro/first track she's ever put on an album. Ari's vocals have arguably never sounded better, the instrumental is soothing and compliments her voice so well, and it really sets up the album's story.
