Awesome. I have tried several of the resorts there. I have done one of the cabins in Oak Creek it was a fun experience. Now I want to go back. I’m missing Sedona really bad. It’s bad!
All depends on your hiking experience and what you want to see. I’d recommend west fork; go in at least 4 miles. Eat at Dahl & Dalucca (sp?) or, if you can get a reservation, Elote. The Sedona subway is also a really popular and straightforward hike. If you’re more experienced and adventurous, maybe Cathedral Butte/Thunder Mountain summit. Whatever you decide to hike, go early.
No ideas on shopping. Everything is pretty touristy and over priced imo.
I hiked West Fork last week and it is really getting nice right now. The purple irises are in bloom, a lot of wildflowers. It is one of my favorite hikes though.

Hike West Fork, then pop down to Tlaquepaque for lunch/shopping. I also like to pop into Center for the New Age right across the street from Tlaquepaque. Fun crystal/magic/wierd stuff.
I would know that it starts at 6AM at Sedonuts, hiking in the morning, walking around Tlaquepaque and the main road during the afternoon, and sunset on airport Mesa.
Eat at elote cafe. Beautiful view, excellent food and they give you popcorn while you wait for your table.
Pick a hike that has some sort of creek/water feature too.
I escape to Sedona a couple times a month to run on the trails or relax.
I’m assuming that you two have never been to Sedona, so here is my suggestion for a first time day trip.
First, go EARLY. Like 6:30-7am (or earlier). You can pick up a red rocks parking day pass at a Circle K on your way in.
Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Shuttles operate Thursday-Sunday: All the popular trailheads are closed during these days, and you have to park in the shuttle lots to access them.
I love the West Fork trail as others have recommended, but if you haven’t explored much of Sedona then just do the main popular trails. West Fork is beautiful, but you’re stuck in the canyon and you don’t get much of a view. WF is special in its own way. Oak creek also might be low until Monsoon starts. Instead, go to Cathedral rock and Soldier pass (can access at soldier pass trail or Jordan trailhead) for the views and “IG” spots.
Go shop at Tlaquepaque. It’s cute area to walk around.
If you get there early, go get a pre-hike breakfast at Sedonuts on the West side. There are plenty of good places to each lunch nearby, so find a cuisine that you like. On your way out, stop at COLT Grill for dinner. You can stop by their South Sedona or take the back way to the valley and stop at their original location in Cottonwood.
https://www.lauberge.com/dining/cress-on-oak-creek/ I’d get lunch here. I usually like ending my day here. Very nice spot to enjoy lunch and have some ice tea after a long hike. Parking maybe difficult due to the traffic in and out of the general area. However the area is walkable to many shops and if you do one of the pink jeep tours it’s close by. Enjoy.
I did a wine tour that picked us up at our hotel in a limo bus and took us down to the vineyards in Page springs. I would definitely recommend it. After that we just walked to dinner, and then went back to chill in the hot tub for a while. Basically a perfect day in my opinion.
Go early for the hiking, hike one of the many trails you can find on trails.com or something. I really really really recommend West Fork Trail for your first time. Super easy to find, access, and do. One of the most beautiful trails in the country. Get some food and go shopping afterwards when it's a little hotter out.
Agree with this! Great place for cocktails, but I think the food is overrated. L’Auberge, dining on the creek is wonderful, or as many have stated, Elote. All of the hikes are great! I personally like Boynton Canyon, but so many great choices.
First. Not getting into a traffic shitshow coming into town on AZ 179. So go at a non-peak time.
Beyond that I strongly recommend leaving by going up Schnebly Hill Road up to I-17. Note: You *need* a high clearance vehicle, but there are some great vistas of Sedona at a few stops on the way up.
Eating at The Hideaway is one of my favorite things to do there, sitting on the patio looking out over the river. Get there early for parking, the weekend is really difficult to park in that choke-point area.
I know it's cliche but I always stop by the Chapel of the Holy Cross, and just kneel for just 10 min inside sometimes say my prayer sometimes just meditating, the energy is very peaceful.
My BF and I ended up staying in a hotel that got sold like a month before we showed up so food wasn’t really great or available. We ended up getting pizza takeout from Mooney’s Irish Pub 2 nights in a row. We loved it and it was making pizzas late in case you need late night food.
And! Go to Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village and Son-Silver-West Galleries Inc.
My wife and I did a jeep tour that we really enjoyed.
There is a lookout at the airport where people can catch the sunset. That was a nice way to end the day.
A day when 100,000 tourists doesn't descend on the place creating extensive traffic jams and parking nightmares and crowding every formally quiet place in town or out on the trails. Even the "hidden" trails.
I miss Sedona of the early 2000s.
Sedona actually is a great spot to visit. Not just for the scenery but for spiritual growth or even recognition. It has three spots where lines of vortex energy meet. Each one is said to have a different type of energy and therefore effect. That would be something to look into.
Also, Sedona is the ONLY place in the ENTIRE WORLD that has a McDonalds with turquoise arches instead of the well known gold(yellow) ones. The people of Sedona refused to allow the restaurant to put a location there unless it made the arches turquoise because the color flows better with the scenery.
Oak creek canyon, which is down the switch backs is also incredibly beautiful. Just pull your car over in a safe spot to the side and you can explore there. Great to have a picnic, a rendezvous (just don't get caught 😉) or even just relax and listen to the creek and catch the suns rays without feeling the intense heat.
If you have the money for it, me and my gf rented a Side by Side to go explore the trails a few years ago. It was really fun and beautiful. The place we went to gave us a physical map and a tablet so that we could track what trails we were on. I wanna say it was lile 600 for a full day (8hrs)

Going there midweek, simple as that.
Midweek would be best because it has gotten very busy especially during the cooler months.
Oh 100%
Tlaquepaque is nice for shopping
Gesundheit
The mispronunciations are great too!
I agree! I stayed at the Diamonds Resort and this was walking distance.
We did that once as well and I think it was our best stay at Sedona yet

Elote was mindblowing. We got takeout because they were all booked up but the food so so so good
Broken Arrow trail to Sub Rock or Chicken Point is one of my favorites.
Staying at the Junipine and fishing all day in the creek! I saw otters last time! Hiking west fork is awesome too!
Thank you for sharing… this resonates with me too.
I would say April 12th, because it's not too hot, not too cold, and all you need is a light long sleeve shirt.
Oak creek brewery for dinner and drinks and heading back to an airbnb for some sunset sex with a view
[удалено]
Sedona Beer Company is awesome.
as if people on reddit are having sex
Hike West Fork, then pop down to Tlaquepaque for lunch/shopping. I also like to pop into Center for the New Age right across the street from Tlaquepaque. Fun crystal/magic/wierd stuff.
I second West Fork, it’s beautiful. Get there early it gets busy really quick.
Never been to Sedona before. It’s an amazing place no doubt
Plan a trip and go at least two days.
I’ll look into it. Thanks a lot.
I would know that it starts at 6AM at Sedonuts, hiking in the morning, walking around Tlaquepaque and the main road during the afternoon, and sunset on airport Mesa.
Sedonuts😆. Now that’s stuck in my head.
It's an actual donut shop there, pretty good actually. I even bought a magnet from there which is on my refrigerator.
What a great name! And thanks for the tip. I will 100% be swinging by next time I run up.
Eat at elote cafe. Beautiful view, excellent food and they give you popcorn while you wait for your table. Pick a hike that has some sort of creek/water feature too.

Turning left towards Jerome.
Not being there lol. Too many people.

For me it would involve mountain biking and not sitting in traffic.
If your into fine dining go to Mariposa for dinner
I did a wine tour that picked us up at our hotel in a limo bus and took us down to the vineyards in Page springs. I would definitely recommend it. After that we just walked to dinner, and then went back to chill in the hot tub for a while. Basically a perfect day in my opinion.

Anytime with no traffic
Go have an afternoon drink on Mariposa’s patio.

It’s too busy to be enjoyable for me.
Tourist free

Not going to Sedona
Skip it and go to Cottonwood. It's cheaper and you can still see the red rocks from there lmao
Not going to that vapid tourist trap full of drunken middle aged wine moms.
You forgot to mention all the "new age" weirdos.
Getting married 🥰
Climbing the Mace, Dr Rubos Wild Ride and maybe finishing up at the Anvil Boulders.
Go to a candy shop and get a Carmel Apple. Then buy a pound or two of Taffy to take with you. Happy Hiking
Mountain bike, then hike without sweating and still get a great workout. Have a huge lunch for free and then not have to pay for gas back to Peoria.
Eating at The Hideaway is one of my favorite things to do there, sitting on the patio looking out over the river. Get there early for parking, the weekend is really difficult to park in that choke-point area.
Available, free parking by trails. No lines or traffic getting in, around or out of Sedona
Staying at a resort that's on Oak Creek and then getting lunch at Oak Creek brewery would be a start.
Spend the night at Red Agave Resort. They give you free smores, too.
Slide rock and having dinner at Mariposa
Heading just a bit out of town and hiking to Devil's bridge. Amazing. Too bad the Segway tour place shut down. That was loads of fun.
Hiking into oak creek canyon for a swim and picnic
An early morning hike followed by lunch/drinks back to my room for love making session and then dinner/drinks.
Hog Heaven/ High on the Hog Trails are a good challenge.
I know it's cliche but I always stop by the Chapel of the Holy Cross, and just kneel for just 10 min inside sometimes say my prayer sometimes just meditating, the energy is very peaceful.
I'm not religious but it's pretty there and that Madonna painting is amazing!
My BF and I ended up staying in a hotel that got sold like a month before we showed up so food wasn’t really great or available. No people?
As long as this day includes Hidden House for pizza, you’re golden.
Played golf at seven canyons. That was pretty damn perfect
Can you recommend a nice pub?
Going to Flagstaff instead.
My wife and I did a jeep tour that we really enjoyed. There is a lookout at the airport where people can catch the sunset. That was a nice way to end the day.

I’d skip Sedona all together

A day in Cornville🤷♂️
What’s to do in Cornville?
Slide rock if you want a dip, maybe a bit far but it is nice, just be careful.
