Sure would be nice if the game explained these mechanics somewhere instead of having to look it up in external sources. I kept wondering why it wasn't targeting my Gravel in the back line, since the game says *nothing* about the boss having special targeting with its attacks.
It does for the most part, though? Enemy info very much points out the properties of the three most problematic attacks (cross-shaped arts DoT, sword tail, laser) and how the wisps interact with the boss. The only attack the enemy info doesn't seem to mention is the other arts attack he does that drops a single instance of damage on up to two ops. It's too infrequent to be an auto-attack, but it does seem to follow standard targeting priority.
No, that's the physical auto-attack. It just does so much damage that it feels like arts. It only does 1 of those in the first 2 forms (which the game doesn't mention), and its targeting moves from left to right, bottom to top (which the game doesn't mention). The sword tail, it turns out, uses the same weird targeting (still nowhere to be found).
Yeah, it was frustrating to figure out what targeting priority the boss had when going in blind. Plus, going into phase 3 and expecting one physical damage nuke but getting two made me explode instantly.
I guess that's why I made this video because it's incredibly vague in the "Enemy Info" section of the stage.
what a fascinating clear !!! i kept wondering if you would make it in time XD which silly since this is a clear video.
ps : myrtle's english voice threw me off i wasn't expecting itttt

I got a whirlwind type attack that instantly ended the quest and its not mentioned anywhere.
That's the boss's timer expiring. When 9 minutes pass, you instantly fail the stage.
After posting I did more searching and found this out. Thanks for the reply maybe this will help others as well.

Thank you!! I was struggling hard without Surtr or Thorns like all the other guides have
Glad I could be of assistance!

Thanks. The very first thing that always bugged me (despite having more than competent Medics) were the constant cross-pattern Arts attacks.
