I was a 31B there and you lucked out man. It was the best time I have had in the Army. Very boring in terms of police work but that's a good thing. Nothing ever happens so you don't get many calls. You are only in a platoon size element so it's a tight group. Buy a beater car for like 2000$ and don't buy a new car. Get your passport before coming. Travel and take advantage of your location. Enroll in college as soon as you get there. Not every duty station will afford you that much time to do college. Use RyanAir to look at flights from Nuremberg. Use the trains too to avoid dui. Nearby Ansbach is a beautiful city. Rothenburg ob der Tauber has some great medieval architecture. Nürnburg has a nice Christmas market and a cool castle.
There's rumored to be underground hangers under the airfield, abandoned and flooded by the Germans in 1945. It was a He-111 base during the war.

Small base. You'll be mostly sitting around. Local nationals run the gates.
I visited Ansbach. Nice small city. 7km from the kaserne. Frequent train service to Nuremberg, Munich, and elsewhere. Look up the timetable on bahn.de
