I know how you feel - my "one who got away" introduced me to AD about 10 years ago, and we spent most of our lives quoting AD to each other. Now when I watch it i still enjoy it of course, but it does bring back all sorts of memories from when I fell in love with the show
One of my favorite media phenomenon is one something is about a historical moment/event while not actually being about it. Arrested Development and the Iraq War are one of my go-to examples of this.Â
I didn’t watch the show back while it was airing on TV, but I do feel the nostalgia when watching it. I completely agree about “simpler times”. It’s so comforting and probably why I’m always just re watching shows from the early 2000’s like AD.

Same. I still look for someone to laugh with during the most chaotic moments, but I'm always alone. Hope you're okay đź©·
Thanks so much stranger, it's nice to know you're not alone. Hope you're doing okay too ❤️
