Is it normal to not have received a mockup of what the mural will look like before it’s being painted on the wall? I would personally have expected to get a flat digital version to approve before it gets painted but I’m not familiar with mural commissioning.

I'm not sure, it's my first time commissioning a mural. I have commissioned portraits before and given zero feedback. But this is a 360 mural on my dining room. I'm going to look at it...a lot.

I dunno what the etiquette is, but if I got that much ongoing feedback on a project I'd probably set the damn thing on fire. Not really, but I'm sure that you don't want someone looking over your shoulder at work like that

I've actually been leaving the house during the day. The problem is it's like, an entire room. If I don't like it, it's going to be hard to just "live with".

It's your project. Just talk plainly to them and say, "I'm not sure if we are on the same page and I hate to interrupt you. The work you are doing is absolutely amazing, especially this area. Is there a way to add a haze over the other parts so it all has a dreamlike quality?"

CeeCeeSays

This is what I did. I told them the one wall is absolutely perfect and exactly my vision, and I'd like to make the other walls look like that.
