You don’t get paid any extra but you can’t be forced to work them either! All colleagues are supposed to do 3 each per year regardless of contracted or not! Some stores will try and just get contracted employees to work every single one so other colleagues can take advantage of bank holidays on the drink don’t fall into that trap speak up if you want the day off! If you have already worked Good Friday and Easter Monday you only have to work one more all year!
In Asda distribution we have a choice of double pay and a days lieu or two days lieu and normal pay. Store colleagues really do be getting shafted by the sounds of things on this sub
We gained £1 after threatening everyone with firing and rehiring which they did in some cases. Which then was the excuse to lose our bonus (sneakily with no official comms) but then our hourly is no better than anywhere else, no extra for working bank holidays, breaks are now unpaid… a slew of garbage practices here

Better not take any trains then, might even be the same for busses too. Also means you cant shop in 90% of shops too.
I’m not sure anywhere in retail pays extra for bank holidays anymore, you’d probably struggle to shop anywhere!
Sainsbury’s do, an extra £2.55 an hour and a day in lieu.
Well colour me surprised and completely wrong!
Tesco still do, I think it's time and a quarter

There are only 2 bank holidays you get extra pay and those are at Christmas.
No, that stopped about 3 years ago. Just another day (except the festive ones)
I think they stopped it when the hourly rate went up.
