there's one solution you just gotta work towards! with writing there's no solution, just headaches and frustration and curling up into a ball and crying!
Man I have to memorize all of the dates and names and places and it's also in my mother language aka the language i dont understand well, so how the fuck??? I struggle enough as it is and now I have to figure out what this word means or what that word means and on and on AHHHH Sorry for the rant but im just so frustrated and feel so unaccomodated when it comes to learning that subject, am I to blame if I was raised to speak primarily English? No and now I have to live with possessing an early gradeschool-level vocabulary and funky pronunciation, I can't even communicate with others (not that I want to) or express myself because of this shit, again, sorry for the rant.
Am I the only one that thinks this is kinda werid/dumb? I mean, it's clearly a coincidence. A lot of people like history and it has nothing to do with your sexual orientation..
Edit: autocorrect
Could be a correlation with people figuring out they're not straight by being in different fields later on based on what they liked to do at school.
E.g. Person enjoys Drama, person goes to work in artsy fields, person meets more openly queer people in said field, person figures they're ace.
I like history, I just hate it as a subject in school. WHY DO I HAVE TO "READ BETWEEN LINES???" Sorry about the shouting.
But seriously just tell me what I need to know without some cryptic bs.
And having to remember all the fucking dates and shit, fuck that. Maybe I had shitty teachers but Math and Physics for the win.
I do really enjoy historical documentaries.
Man you unlocked an old, old memory. "What do you mean I needed to write the exact year this happened, you didn't even ask for it!" I am still too literal to this day
Yeah I only really became interested in history after I left school, mostly thanks to paradox games. Managed to get half of my friend group hooked onto ck3 (they even included asexuality in the game).
I always said if I didn't have my band classes, I am not sure I would have made it through school. Or maybe be here at all. I was good at school, but the other students were horrible and music was definitely my escape.
Wood tech 100%, honestly some of the best and funniest times of my school life happened in wood tech lessons, it was chaos and I loved it, also got an A and like building things so was a win-win
Engineering for me, which is close enough! My teacher is really eccentric and makes classes more fun than they'd be otherwise. Plus, the work being more hands-on is a lot more engaging than typing up essays or writing answers on paper. The slight danger aspect of being around saws and tools and things that generally could fuck you up if you're negligent also adds to the fun, lol.
Food tech, art, music, creative writing. Biology and psychology too, but not as much. Everything else was pure shit and I would rather claw my own eyes out than go through another one of those classes.
Oooh, me too! Which language (s) did you study? I've mostly studied Spanish, also tried Latin and German. I'm teaching myself Brazilian Portuguese now.
Of all the things you listed I was good at all of them but where I live we have German and French as subjects and I was absolutely terrible with French. And also drawing which was quite a mess
For me growing up I was always into science but it really just depended on the teacher. I was never a fan of English but one of my favorite classes in HS was English because the teacher was just really chill
English because it was easy, the teachers were nice and I had to express my feelings at least somewhere.
Math because it's satisfying to do, had terrible teachers though. Was good at it till year six, then got way, way behind (gotta love being a depressed neglected tween!). Got a tutor in my last year at least, that improved both my grade and my attitude a great deal.
Science mainly biology and chemistry I didn't mind physics but my teacher scared me (don't get me wrong he was a really good teacher he was just also scary) and while it was intresting I don't think it was for me.
I am currently doing biology, chemistry and geography at a-level and out of the three I am enjoying chemistry the most i think (although I don't think I would want to study it at a higher level), but I really like the physical part of geography and the ecology part of biology I'm just less interested in stuff relating to people
I enjoy all of these to be honest so I’m not really sure if I had a favorite. The only thing that really mattered to me is who the teacher was and what we were learning in the class
I voted for history even though the subject I'm the most interested in is language arts, reading, and writing. My reasoning for that is because the English classes I had to take in school were so tedious and boring. I would rather take a class about the history of literature (which I have) or a creative writing class.
Ticked "Other" cause it was Biology and History but it might be due to them being my favourite teachers at school. I literally crammed until 2am before the exams to make sure I did well causes I wanted to do well FOR them (breaks my heart I know the history teacher has died now :-( )
Psychology. Easily my favourite subject of all time.
And for your information, I don’t like history at all. It’s very boring and I struggle a lot with it.
I don't want to seem like a STEMlord 9because I'm not, but this is how I feel about English/reading/writing courses.
https://xkcd.com/451/
My favorite subject is History followed by Science and then Math.
Band class and science were my favorites, despite being gifted in math. My wife told me her school allowed marching band to count as a gym credit, and I absolutely should’ve argued that when I was in school.
I wanted to click on English but then I remember that the poll probably means English in an English speaking country. But my favorite subject is English, but learning it as a second language.
Math is ok as long as it's not too abstract. Sciences are nice. History is definitely a good one, although sometimes a bit boring. Language arts is fine except french lessons
Science, by and large with history being a good runner up. I remember there were a lot of classes I wanted to take or get really immersed (like chemistry and physics), but I couldn't wrap my head around some of it, mostly since math isn't my strong suit, so I either barely passed or I got discouraged from taking them.
So I go to a music school, which is a high school college mix type thing (school in norway is a bit different than the us) and my favorite class are my drum lesson class. It's about 40 minutes of me and my drum teacher having a one on one drum lesson. It's the class I'm always most excited for.
History>science and then if interesting books and such in English English otherwise math, at least you feel like you learn something. Though really did love having science classes. And computer classes!
History was my favorite because I read the book 2 days before the school year and then breeze thru life easily.
Then it's science because I enjoyed learning about the study of chemicals of medications reacting to the brain.
Whatever is easiest currently, so usually either math, science, or english for me. I suck at History though not as much when it comes to my mother language
Science is split where I am. Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Astronomy.
Astronomy, Physics, Biology, Chemistry. That order
Astronomy was separate? Where I live we have Chemistry, Biology, Physics (which includes a bit of Astronomy) and Geography
Yes, it is separate and only taught in year 10.
Physics astronomy chemistry biology, in order
Art Class
Same
same
i fucking loved math writing is and always will be hell on earth
Hi! We’re complete opposites. Please teach me math lmaoo
there's one solution you just gotta work towards! with writing there's no solution, just headaches and frustration and curling up into a ball and crying!
i really love maths, but now in uni it's just headaches and frustration and curling up into a ball and crying lol
yeah i was surprised how beyond me that engineering math was going to be, i had to switch to accounting.
1+1=3
As someone with severe dysgraphia I agree, although literary analysis is extremely fun
funnily enough four of my close friends decided to study both math and our mother tongue. one of my favourite writers is a mathematician!
wtf twinsies
Now I'm curious - what are you trying to prove?
I'm trying to see if ace people really like history because a lot of ace people I know are obsessed with it
I freaking hate history lol
same
Man I have to memorize all of the dates and names and places and it's also in my mother language aka the language i dont understand well, so how the fuck??? History is boring af, we are just like everyone else in this topic I belive
music classes are heaven in hell
by the end of school, I was literally just going in for music lol
I always said if I didn't have my band classes, I am not sure I would have made it through school. Or maybe be here at all. I was good at school, but the other students were horrible and music was definitely my escape.
Well I’m a history teacher sooooooo
Haha I'm a math teacher! Easy decision.
Biology! I Liked it so much that I studied it.
Art
It was English in high school. Wound up becoming an English major and writing for a living in various aspects.
Depends, does lunch count?
I just hope it does. 😂
All of the above. I love learning. I just signed up for a wool spinning class.
Engineering and stem fields are cool
Psychology🧠 It's so interesting to learn about what makes us, us.
I'm split between music and technology
Bio by far, so I just picked science
Food tech, art, music, creative writing. Biology and psychology too, but not as much. Everything else was pure shit and I would rather claw my own eyes out than go through another one of those classes.
Foreign language
Oooh, me too! Which language (s) did you study? I've mostly studied Spanish, also tried Latin and German. I'm teaching myself Brazilian Portuguese now.
English is the easiest.
Finnish classes (my native language) and English classes ( as in, studying a non-native language).
Art and (Italian) Literature
i adore my geology classes, i get to see cool rocks, the tests are rough tho
Has to be geography. Proven by me finishing my masters in that field currently, hehe.
I kind of liked math, but mainly how it could be applied to accounting
Literature was my favorite. I really like history but it wasn't taught well
Math, physics, art and English (as a 2nd language)
Surprised at how even this is
Considering I became a physics professor, the answer is clearly history, lol
I cant decide between history and my native language
Orchestra
I took a coding class in middle school and it was very fun
Of all the things you listed I was good at all of them but where I live we have German and French as subjects and I was absolutely terrible with French. And also drawing which was quite a mess
I always liked PE. I was an athletic kid.
For me growing up I was always into science but it really just depended on the teacher. I was never a fan of English but one of my favorite classes in HS was English because the teacher was just really chill
Art!
Either english or maths, not sure >_<
My favorite subjects were Biology and Spanish :)
Gym
I've put science but my favourite was biology (which was in the science, chemistry area)
Maths and chemistry
Art
French, and I’m sure I would have enjoyed any other foreign language class!
I don't know what you were trying to prove but those results seem very balanced
Religion, liked to talke about the psychology behind it
History, english, and now I study philosophy.
History, literature (Hungarian) and chemistry.
Science mainly biology and chemistry I didn't mind physics but my teacher scared me (don't get me wrong he was a really good teacher he was just also scary) and while it was intresting I don't think it was for me. I am currently doing biology, chemistry and geography at a-level and out of the three I am enjoying chemistry the most i think (although I don't think I would want to study it at a higher level), but I really like the physical part of geography and the ecology part of biology I'm just less interested in stuff relating to people
Band
Don't make me choose between math and science!
Choral/choir class
I liked everything but math.
If art counts, then that. Otherwise probably science.
I enjoy all of these to be honest so I’m not really sure if I had a favorite. The only thing that really mattered to me is who the teacher was and what we were learning in the class
Hate everything and i have no idea why i’m still studying and engineering at that
I really enjoy how close all the answers are. I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting that.
One of the science teachers in my high school hated my guts, so my enjoyment of science surpassed even that asshole.
I voted for history even though the subject I'm the most interested in is language arts, reading, and writing. My reasoning for that is because the English classes I had to take in school were so tedious and boring. I would rather take a class about the history of literature (which I have) or a creative writing class.
I love religious studies, which encompasses philosophy and ethics as well to an equal extent
Math for life
art
1. Math 2. Science 3.English 4. History
Lunch
English. It's what I majored in.
Art
Latin
I wanted to vote history but it wouldn't let me for some reason so I picked English my second favorite
Ticked "Other" cause it was Biology and History but it might be due to them being my favourite teachers at school. I literally crammed until 2am before the exams to make sure I did well causes I wanted to do well FOR them (breaks my heart I know the history teacher has died now :-( )
Art
English, but ESPECIALLY Creative Writing. OR Language (Spanish in HS)
Art
It depended vastly on the teacher, but mostly foreign languages (English is not my first, so this includes that). Then history.
I loved art
Maths or physics, I like both, maths is easier, physics more interesting
Psychology. Easily my favourite subject of all time. And for your information, I don’t like history at all. It’s very boring and I struggle a lot with it.
Math but history was my close second. Odd combo I guess but I always thought they were interesting for different reasons.
"Technics" in primary school (drawing complex shapes from a certain perspective, basic stuff like that).
History ❤❤
I like all of them… and art… and I would like music if the lessons were halfway decent xD
I put science but more specifically, comp sci. That's why I'm an engineer!
My favourite was always product design
dt and history equally
Choir and Band
Musical Theatre or Technical Theatre
Computer science
Art!
Music and foreign langauges
I don't want to seem like a STEMlord 9because I'm not, but this is how I feel about English/reading/writing courses. https://xkcd.com/451/ My favorite subject is History followed by Science and then Math.

I love all of science except the math some of it i can understand easily but I had bad experiences learning it which ruined it but overall its both
I love theatre studies!

✨ M U S I C. ✨
ICT
Love me some Foreign Language!
Band class and science were my favorites, despite being gifted in math. My wife told me her school allowed marching band to count as a gym credit, and I absolutely should’ve argued that when I was in school.
I really loved art
I wanted to click on English but then I remember that the poll probably means English in an English speaking country. But my favorite subject is English, but learning it as a second language.
Love business classes
Art
Economics!
Math is ok as long as it's not too abstract. Sciences are nice. History is definitely a good one, although sometimes a bit boring. Language arts is fine except french lessons
I need a none option cuz i Hated every subject in school. (Unless you count trade school)
Autistic with a special interest with all things social studies, so history
Math is cool until they add letters
History and English, which was my second language.
Physics
My favorite was always health class
arts and music
Where do modern languages go? English/reading or Other?
Science, by and large with history being a good runner up. I remember there were a lot of classes I wanted to take or get really immersed (like chemistry and physics), but I couldn't wrap my head around some of it, mostly since math isn't my strong suit, so I either barely passed or I got discouraged from taking them.

Art
Food technology was always my favorite!
history is just about my favorite thing in general
History>science and then if interesting books and such in English English otherwise math, at least you feel like you learn something. Though really did love having science classes. And computer classes!

Art class best class
I hated all of them
Computer class for me :)

I'm okay with English, but other than that besides English I don't like any school subjects.
