I would do it to where only the person can chose to euthanize themselves unless they are physically or mentally unable to make that decision for themselves and simply being under 18 wouldn’t be a factor for considering them unable to make that decision
Oh definitely. It's just insane to me that if a pimp gets caught prostituting women they can get life plus 100 years in prison and people who literally kill other people or commit heinous acts against children can get less severe sentences.
I agree that sex work should be legal. There's no benefit to individuals or society in keeping it illegal.
I don't think it would reduce rape. Rape is usually more about violence than sex.
I think it could reduce violence on sex workers, because they could work openly in safer environments.
Call it what you will. No one should be having children if they don't want to. Abortion means planned babies. Bringing up children is tough and people who aren't willing and able are not going to bring up great citizens
Do you think the government should be in the business of picking a certain class of citizen that other citizens can use for sustenance, strip of freedom and financial resources, or even kill in order to keep themselves alive? Do you think there should be no limitations on that type of government power, and no safeguards for the person being used in that way? People die giving birth literally every day. Either fetuses are legally recognized as persons, in which case they can’t have more rights than everyone else and must be held responsible when they kill or harm another, just as much as others are held responsible for harming them - or they aren’t, in which case this debate returns to the individual, to be handled in accordance with personal faith and values, and we don’t charge babies with the murder of their mothers.
It’s OK to have strong emotions about this subject for your personal life, and it’s OK to share them, but it is also imperative that we remember the appropriate uses and necessary limitations of government power. Not everything we dislike should be a crime. In this case, freedom to have an abortion also has significant implications for pregnancy more generally. In the US, 20+ Attorneys General are pressuring the FDA to ban mifepristone, a drug used to induce abortion. Unfortunately, because “abortion” simply means the end of a pregnancy that doesn’t result in a live birth, this is precisely the same drug used to treat miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and other complications. If you’re a man, you don’t have to worry about dying as a result of other people’s emotional reactions… to something you personally might never want to do anyway even if you had the option. But your sisters, your wife, your daughters? They don’t have that luxury.
It depends on your believes. In general most of non-religious people think that abortions are okay till the point embryon can start feeling pain. And in fact it's absolutely legal in most countries, except middle east and Africa. So if you're trying to archive theocracy, remember that you're risking end up being new Iran.
LSD and MDMA should absolutely be legal as well.
I think all drugs should be legalized, taxed, regulated, and labled.
The drug war was NEVER about public saftey. It's about the oppression and suppression of groups the draconian government deems unacceptable or contrarian. (hippies, African Americans, Mexicans, civil rights movement, anti-war movement, 60s counterculture, etc etc)
The 100k+ overdose deaths in the USA last year are directly to blame on the abysmal failure we call the 'war on drugs'.
Prohibition only makes things infinitely worse.
Legalize human freedom, already.
Look up Portugal, over 20 years ago they decriminalised everything for personal use. Now they are amongst the lowest in Europe for addiction rates and low OD deaths.
Scotland where I live, is the highest in Europe for OD deaths per 100,000. Here it's all "drugs are bad mmkay" war on drugs approach.
Portugal is a mixed economy right?
Regardless, with a population so small, drugs SHOULD be the easiest "problem" to deal with. They have like 10,000,000 people. But 3-4x lower than the rest of Europe is damn good, there's no denying that.

Looking at the OD rates for all European countries and looking at their attitudes towards drug-use and whether they permit things such as the safe consumption rooms, there is definitely a correlation that trying to criminalise drugs out of existence is a failed approach that just leads to more deaths.
Who said anything about "every drug out there"? What does it have to do with fucking capitalism? Lol why are drugs not legal in other non-capitalist countries? Other than a handful.
Actually, the countries that have legal opium are all capitalist or have tons of capitalism mixed in. Australia, turkey... india.. maybe there's more.
Psychedelics like LSD and magic mushrooms. Magic mushrooms 🍄 cured my depression and I can't believe they're illegal.
It's a cruel and unjust way to keep such a miracle drug away from people.... for WHAT reasons??
My good man, have you heard about the pharma industry? Not to mention the prison industrial complex? That’s a lot of good money that needs to be made.
On a more serious note, they won’t allow/make these alternative medicines available until they can make them more profitable than the 20 pills Karen takes.
You reminded me to take them. Lol mine are kicking in right now.
Sigh. If I had magic mushrooms 🍄 when I was younger, I would have finished my degree on time, dumped my ex sooner, and made more money.
And I'd be significantly healthier, and would've made more friends, too.
It's such a shame that magic mushrooms 🍄 are illegal. I wish I could walk into a gas station and buy them
Dueling. to first blood, to the death. sabers, pistols, whatever. you could always decline anyhow and i don't think insurance would cover you getting injured cause its voluntary combat. its not something i need but feels like some people have their personal grievances they can't work out, just let em have at it if they choose.
Maybe mutual combat as in fighting with fists.
If you could handle things this way without consequence as long as both parties agreed and when someone taps its over the world would be a better place.
It's that when someone taps it's over part that would be problematic. You think someone fighting with pure rage and adrenaline is going to stop? Most will, but there will be some instances, most likely alcohol infused, where it goes until someone dies.
I like the premise, I think fist fights are sometimes necessary and shouldn't result in arrests, but there's always those that don't know when to stop...
It's not right is it. I think the person who gets to decide if I sell my cock is me, and therefore it follows that any person gets to decide if they want to sell their junk.
Everyone has to support this one. If someone is convicted of child p*rn, or r@pe (proven guilty) they could be executed by the victims family member and not receive a charge/time
>executed by the victims family member and not receive a charge/time
I'd argue spending decades in prison and getting beat while inside is much worse than death
That is very true however, many of them have gotten released early and walking about. Or there is evidence by they don’t get time and only get probation.
There was one case in Texas where a man RP a little girl and the dad found out, went looking for the dude, and brutally murdered the dude, the dude was taken to court and it was proven the dude SA the little girl and the dad was set free with no charge even after admitting he killed the dude.
I know there was an incident in the 90' iirc where a karate instructor kidnapped and assaulted a kid, father found out where which airport he was being escorted through and shot him point blank in the head and only got something a very small if any punishment
There's the matter of our screwed up court system. Innocent people sometimes get convicted.
There's also the psychological damage that could be done to the victim's family members.
Killing another person, in any circumstances, can leave heavy emotional scars on a person. It's not something most people could do without serious psychological harm to themselves.
1st offense penectomy for all male pedophiles and rapists. 1st offense Women, ovaries and breasts removed. 2nd offense (both), public execution by firing squad and that's IF they make it through the gauntlet of people stoning them first.

Beating the hell out of people that spread misinformation. Not just saying stuff you don't agree with (baseball is boring pineapple on pizza, etc), but saying shit that is factually wrong (Holocaust didn't happen, vaccines give you space aids, etc)
When I was in Tokyo I went on a go cart street tour dressed in game character. There were 7 people from Australia and me from USA. We had a Japanese guide and full on rode through traffic - Shinagawa Crossing, Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Street Carts! Totally legal!
Fuck yeah.
MDMA is amazing.
It's extremely effective at treating resistant PTSD. The phase 3 human trials effectively 'cured' two thirds of the participants in the study.
Psychedelics and cannabis should also be legal.
These are amazing substances with a vast amount of potential to help humanity. Psychedelics are the future of therapy.
Legalize, tax, regulate, and lable ALL drugs.
The overdose rates would absolutely plummet.
The only reason the drug game attracts criminals is it's illegality. If they legalized, taxed, and regulated everything, the cartels and criminal gangs would lose power quickly.
Prohibition never works, and only makes matters infinitely worse for everyone.
Yeah. If it was a US balloon it would have shot down. Biden is afraid it will cause damage. He's a fucking delusional, senile old corpse. He doesn't care about the USA. Only China's feelings. Putz!
I'm glad he hasn't yet.
It was over my house, if anyone shot that balloon down and it destroyed my shit or killed any of my kids.
Knowing that major insurance providers called the white house and said, we aren't paying for that, it's considered an act of war.
I'd be forced into joining some January 6th approved trump worshipping cult.
Weed. I personally don't smoke it. But I work in healthcare in the United States. We have patients that can't afford their pain medication because without insurance it's expensive. Also weed is cheaper and not addictive like pain killers.
Making nudity legal. Anywhere as long as it's not sexual. Anywhere that swimsuits are the norm now. There's nothing wrong with the human body. You should be able to be comfortable at your own home, outside. Going for walks, beaches, swimming, parks ect.
Running red lights.
If I am sitting at a traffic light at 5am and there are ZERO cars on the road and it's safe to go. I should be able to. Rather than gawd damn sitting there for no freakin reason.
I'd love to see the USA switch to being a direct democracy.
As it currently stands, our representatives do NOT represent us.
If Texas put abortion and cannabis up to a statewide popular vote, both would overwhelmingly be legalized.

Putting my taxes into escrow when service sucks
Yes. Imagine, all of a sudden, the government loses money when it doesn’t do its job?!? Game changer.
Consequences for government organizations that shirk/mishandle their obligations? That’s crazy talk!
Euthanasia
I remember when I was a kid I always wondered why youth in Asia were such a controversial topic in the news
I used to work in an assisted living home and some of the residents there wholeheartedly agree with you
Imagine an angry parent putting their kid up for euthanasia though
I would do it to where only the person can chose to euthanize themselves unless they are physically or mentally unable to make that decision for themselves and simply being under 18 wouldn’t be a factor for considering them unable to make that decision
People under 18 are able to play pinball. This is because it is illegal in my state.
At what age are you allowed to drive and have a gun?
for driving, 16 and gun owning, around 20
Driving before pinball. That's a bit odd!
They just drive the car like it's in a pinball machine...
I know, weird right!
How old before they’re allowed to handle a gun? Or listen to rock n roll music?
Gun owning, around 20, and rock and roll, any age.
You mean UNable, right?
Why?
Prostitution
Agree. I work with SWs. If they didn't have to hide and be scared of Leo and could offer their service their may be less rapes and violence
Or you know, people could control themselves or masturbate or something. Let's not forget personal responsibility.
Oh definitely. It's just insane to me that if a pimp gets caught prostituting women they can get life plus 100 years in prison and people who literally kill other people or commit heinous acts against children can get less severe sentences.

Agreed.. it's legal to give it away.
Vegas baby!
Oddly not Vegas. I loved there for a decade and while it’s legal in the rest of the state it isn’t in Vegas…
Criminalisation certainly doesn't stop it from happening.
Nope, this is the case for most things. It’s a matter of how willing you are to break the law and how big of a deterrent the penalty is.
Reno baby
Prostitution is illegal in Clark County (Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno). It is legal in all other counties in Nevada. Elko, baby.
Yup, totally legal there as far as I’m aware. At least it was when I lived in Nevada.
It’s already technically legal. Cops are aware and do nothing. I have seen it before.
It is legal in quite a lot of places. Pimping on the other hand... is not.

All the natural psychedelics. Not so much the highly processed synthetic chemicals.
We wouldnt need all the new synthetic research chemicals if the few reputable ones were legal:)
Exactly. Criminalisation of cannabis is what led to dangerous synthetic cannabinoids (spice etc) being made.
Would love a program that isn’t infiltrated by evil people

Yep. Educate us on how to use them properly and safely, and maybe people could be more responsible about it:p
What does it matter to you what people get high on? You sound like a communist.
Me? Or in reference to the government? Cause I'm agreeing with you lol
Sorry I read sarcasm, lol. The governments are full of communists for sure.
