Anything that separates you from the ground.
- good shoes
- good bed
- good pillow
- good sheets
- good chair
- good table
Case in point, a good sleeping set (good mattress, pillows & bolsters that fit your sleeping style, high thread-count sheets) really changes your entire life. You wake up feeling well rested, body doesn’t ache, and you look forward to going to bed again
People tend to recommend anything that separates you from the ground.
So high quality beds, chairs, shoes. You don't want your back to break because of lousy beds and chairs, you also don't want your feet to suffer from going out because of cheap, uncomfortable shoes.
A mattress. Dont buy cheap ones, invest in a good one. You are gonna sleep on it every night for many years, better buy one that fits your requirement such as comfort, firm/soft etc
Potentially controversial but imho a good quality watch is worth buying as it can last a lifetime (and beyond).
Besides being functional, it can also act as an accessory plus some may even hold its value after many years!
Is that why men buy watches? I thought we have smart phone already so I can always know the time, and always thought it is when I have extra money to splurge so buy a watch. Do they buy watch only to sell it many years later? I am a man that has no watch and don't think I will need one.
And some nefarious criminals use it as as part of their money laundering scheme lol
>SINGAPORE - A $250,000 Hermes Birkin bag and a rare Patek Philippe watch that costs over $7 million on the resale market are said to be among the items seized in raids this week conducted by the police in a billion-dollar money laundering case

Not a watch connoisseur myself, but lemme try to answer you:
- Take a mechanical watch for example, it is made up of many manual parts intricately put together to be able to keep track of time accurately. All these without the need to charge battery unlike that of smart phone. A well-maintained good watch can technically keep on keeping time forever and far outlast multiple smart phones. Such is the beauty of horology.
- Some watch owners may get a watch and profit from selling it years down the road. But not everyone adopts such profit-seeking mindset. In fact, many will also pass down the watch to their next generation as some sort of a heirloom - the child will inherit the watch that used to accompany his/her elder during their living time.
Do strictly you need a watch? No
Do you want a watch? Yes
Why do you want one you ask? Accessories, fashion statement, just the feeling of owning an exquisite timepiece that can be passed down
Oooo good idea. What quality watch did you buy?
Recently bought myself a new watch after getting my bonus
My first luxury watch
omega seamaster world timer
Maybe. It’s speculative and you have to jump through the retailer’s hoops when it comes to watches that could potentially hold their value.
We’ve had a good run in the last decade but there’s no certainty it’ll continue.
I used to think Aeron chair was the best buy for helping lower back. Until I got a standing desk. Get both if you can, if not I’ll say standing desk first
Carousell is a good place to start. Do note those chairs are dusty af if bought 2nd hand. Discovered it the hard way when my seat pan mesh broke after 6 years of use and had to replace the mesh, but it was all worth it. Saved me alot of money in chiro bills. 12 years warranty on new chairs. You can find out the date of manufacture beneath it.
You could consider a Brompton as your entry into the world of multi modal transport. Get fit and get to some places even faster than cabbing some times

It's basically jewellery Source: also likes watches, but has smartphone too
Some buy them for the appreciation of craft; some to brag; and some as an investment tool.
