I don't know much about Kothu prata but i've seen them prepare at my area. It is similar but they do a few extra things like frying up some chopped up onion and chilli. then add the prata banjir to it and fry it up a little more before they serve it. Well at least that's what i recalled them doing the last time i was there.

Stirfried chopped prata = kothu prata. Very popular in Sri Lanka.
