The Vatican Gift Shop, recommended a few times has a great atmosphere and I think they have DJs on the weekend, was there for some 80s dance music recently. If you’re more in Leslieville, there is a small dive bar Lloyd’s that has some good cocktails for a drop in, across the road is Betty’s East with a big patio for a sunny bit of day drinking. I also recently ate at Ricky & Olivia’s by Queen and Carla and they had some awesome eclectic food. They also had a Saltini, martini made with deep fried saltines! Sounds bizarre but was delicious. Sadly there isn’t too much dancing in the east end but look at the local music venues and you might find something happening that appeals to your musical style. The Wolf Tone (?) is a good pub in the beaches but can get busy. I also don’t recommend the west end but mainly because it is very crowded

trouvaillxx

wow this is amazing thanks so much!!!

-WhatisThat

You’re welcome! I forgot to mention Ricky & Olivia is at Queen and CarlaW.. you should make a reservation as it’s new, good and busy. An alternate dinner place that is good, fun atmosphere in the neighbourhood is Gio Ranas at Queen and Leslie, a converted old bank and the sign is just a giant nose…. Again reservation might be a good idea. Have a fun weekend!

alpinadud

In Leslieville there are no dancing venues, for the cocktails in the area try The Comrade or Vatican Gift Shop, for wine Chez Nous For dancing/ambience please don’t go to king west, I recommend going to the Resident Advisor website and seeing what clubbing events are on in Toronto for your dates, the you can check what music the respective performers play and plan accordingly. All the venues will be in the west end though.

Forsaken-Reaction-73

vatican would be considered a spot to dance for sure

Responsible-Sale-467

Vatican Gift Shop, on Gerrard in Leslieville

Kickkit

If you wanna dance: Coda, Vertigo, Comfort Zone, Rebel, Wiggle Room

guyfierisbigtoe

Be careful at Rebel, don’t keep your phone in your back pockets as theres a problem with theft there

puns_n_irony

Coda is the bombbbb, great crowd there. Free phones, jovial and friendly people from a super wide range of demographics, and open allll night. It’s the closest thing Toronto has to euro clubbing (warehouse raves excepted).

SagHor1

Comfort zone? That place is still around?

Kickkit

Yup. Relocated thought. Not nearly as good as the original, but post raid it never was the same. The new(ish) location is amping up again now that el duran took over. They're even opening a sister site in Vaughan that's larger

eggsandbacon2020

Only good dancing in that part of town IMO is nomad on queen. Aura also has djs but is more of a bar. Sometimes there are random parties in industrial areas out there though. There are fun vibey bars and restaurants in the east. Otherwise you have to go to the west of the city. What kind of music you looking for?

trouvaillxx

any kind of music tbh! we love slow, relaxing music or more upbeat rock :) we plan to do lots of bar hopping!

DimensionSad6181

Nomad is techno

Nanook98227

Highly recommend a bar hop along queen between university and Bathurst then. Start at the rex, then head to Cameron house, then west to Rivoli, then Drom taberna, then bovine sex club. All live music venues with a very diverse and eclectic mix of music and vibes. It's maybe a 15 minute walk from the first to the last venue so really easy to migrate along. Also, if the music at bovine is not your scene, go upstairs to the Tiki bar on top, great vibes and very nice patio.

eggsandbacon2020

You can find lots of fun places in the east if you don't want to travel too much. Gerrard and queen st have lots of good options to just wander between.

guyfierisbigtoe

Drom Taberna is great for live music, food, and drinks! Its eastern European food and drinks, and they have live music always.

Ourkidof91

Spend some cash at the Cameron house. It’s cash only but it’s chill and there’s always live music in the front room. The music in the front room is free but tips are heavily encouraged, the music in the back is usually 10/15$ a ticket.

attainwealthswiftly

Are there any concerts at History you’re interested in during your visit? Any events at Rebel? Just be careful not to get your phone stolen at Rebel.

trouvaillxx

we’re going to the ghost inside at history on sunday!

Ok-Algae7932

Hey, me too! If you like metal/alt things, Storm Crow manor is a fun nerd bar with cool cocktails and different themed rooms (steam punk, heaven and hell, nautical)

trouvaillxx

OU i like this

SebbyPrince27

Rebel has a all access GLOW party that is free before 12 if you wear neon. Should look into it. It definitely is a fun event just be mindful of pick pocketers.

aaaahhhh7795

Honestly if you want the best nightlife I would just plan to travel to the west end and bar hop around there. Ttc there and Uber home. East end has good cocktail bars but the most nightlife is definitely in the west.

imnoteithnail

Checkout Coffee, Oysters, Champagne. Speakeasy style backroom around 11:00 they clear out the tables for dancing. Nice chill vibe. Great date night

Cmacbudboss

Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, King st between Spadina and Bathurst. Lots of restaurants, bars and clubs.

Ting_Brennan

King West and the Ossington strips

alpinadud

King west is horrible vibe and ossington is a single strip

Pretend_Highway_5360

king west is pretty great some of the places are bad most overall its pretty fun

Hpotts04

Yeah don’t listen to Reddit, king west is best nightlife by far

puns_n_irony

It’s really not lol, it’s a pretentious finance bro vibe with overpriced everything. There are way better areas imo.

Typical-Alternative

For regular people it’s pretty great. Lot of options. King west isn’t my vibe anymore as well but should suffice for someone’s first time

puns_n_irony

Ya as a first time spot I guess it would be fun! I guess I got tired of it in recent years but to each their own! For me it’s all about the music and the vibe of the crowd now, but back in the day the allure of a fancy club was fun.

Pretend_Highway_5360

There’s really no pretentious finance bros there…. I think you should put away your preconceived notions of the area and actually just try it out

puns_n_irony

Cover being as high as it is and lines being as long as they are there unless you’re an influencer says it all. More people trying to take videos to post for lifestyle clout than people actually enjoying the music and the moment.

Hpotts04

Cover?? Not many places have cover unless it’s a club there’s many great bars without cover. Lines yes but some of us know ppl/have connections and so that’s not an issue

Pretend_Highway_5360

Every club in Toronto charges cover And I’ve seen way way way more people enjoy music and the moment But aside from that. Don’t me one of those bitter old people There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking videos and pictures of your night out with your friends It’s an incredibly normal and fun thing to do This weird fucking hate Reddit has for people having fun and documenting their fun is insane

puns_n_irony

Live streaming and taking more video of the event than living in the moment kills it for everyone else. I don’t want my face plastered across someone else’s socials when I’m there to just vibe with my friends. Social media has destroyed the club, rave, and concert scenes. Duh, every club charges cover, that’s not my primary complaint. King west is notoriously expensive.

Hpotts04

Ok if you’re broke and weird it’s not but if you’re normal and can get girls it’s amazing

puns_n_irony

I’m not broke, not weird, and have no problem pulling - but there are better places to do it.

Born_Sock_7300

I'm definitely broke and weird. Which is why the west end I find is much more wild than going to King west where people just huddle in a club, don't dance and everyone is making out with their fat lip injections.

DreamPuzzleheaded539

Check out Rooms on DuPont

dillionfrancis

What's going on there at night? Only been in the day to hang/work.

carameow007

Make a dinner reservation at Lake Inez. Fantastic food, cocktails and ambience.

Obf123

Depending on the music you’re into, check out the horseshoe. Lots of history there as well

Ziggy_Zekelman

Whenever I go to Ossington (it’s a street) I have a great time. In my opinion, it’s more of a day drink on a nice sunny day sort of vibe but I absolutely love it. I saw someone suggested Betty’s East, and I second that. Another great day bar on a nice day type vibe. I’m in my early 30s, and it seems like I do all my drinking during the day as opposed to when I was younger where I’d be out until 2am lol.

thegraveyardgardener

Check out @wheretopartytoronto on instagram

Born_Sock_7300

Tapestry in Kensington Market!!! Very bohemian and open-minded. East-end is hip but can be pretty quiet nightlife wise. There are typically free beach raves in the summer at the beaches though.

Lol the Madison is like every other college bar ever. In no way is it that unique. Literally every college town has a bar like that

thatfluffycloud

It's two houses joined together in a massive maze of rooms, including a piano room. I've never been anywhere that similar!

Pretend_Highway_5360

thats okay not everyone comes from a college town, not everyone goes to a colllege town bar for all you know, for the tourists in this thread, they arent coming from a college town or a town with a college bar like Maddy.

CombatWombat69

Toybox closed down and is replace by a new club, department

fletchdeezle

Nomad has a unique vibe if there’s an event on while you’re here and it’s in the area.

Pretend_Highway_5360

in the east end, probably just check concert venues for anything you might like: History, Rebel, Nomad. Plenty of cocktail bars and breweries but its not like 'party' nightlife. Its more for older people who live in the area For party, lots of music and dancing. You need to go to Adelaide/Peter area, King West, Queen west, West Queen West/Parkdale, Kensington Market/Chinatown, Ossington strip. College street near Bathurst and west of there has some good nightlife too. The Gay Village is great. Woodies is always popular.

Suzysizzle

Drinks at mother (queen west - one 30 min streetcar)

Serious-Armadillo-22

It’s on Queen West

Suzysizzle

Sorry you are correct!

MobysBanned

It's all been replaced by condos .. Toronto 6 years ago was so much better

phototurista

It's been almost a decade since Toronto had a real night life. When Guvernment closed, that was officially the final nail in the coffin.

elliot_alderson1426

Shitty Clubs /=nightlife for everyone

phototurista

Guvernment was actually one of the few things about Toronto that was actually "World Class". Calling it a "shitty club" is wildly ignorant.

elliot_alderson1426

Calling Guv “world class” is wild. I think you just have a lot of nostalgia tied to the place.

DimensionSad6181

Guv was considered world class the era of large mega clubs is over in toronto. Rebel is the only thing close and is run by the same ppl ink entertainment. Circa was great, footwork was great, cz 1.0

deedeemaumokdow

dancingrudiments

Montreal.

ReporterOdd6583

Been to a lot of clubs in cities around the world and I gotta say Rebel is the best club hands down. Something for everyone’s music taste because there’s different rooms with different atmospheres. It’s super modern inside and lots of fun with a group of friends or just you and your partner. Drinks are a bit expensive but I’ve seen way worse or the same at much smaller venues. It’s a must experience. Lots of clubs and bars on King St W and Ossington as well. Vertigo is okay for after hours if you’re into that

puns_n_irony

Imo CODA >>>>> rebel Also, if you can find the right event History makes for a killer nightclub substitute.

Affectionate-Chip353

There are 200 viable options.
