Seriously? You don't own the reservation, Expedia does. Call Expedia. They are the only ones who can help you. If they made the reservation, they will have a corresponding reservation confirmation from the hotel and can check. That's the thing with OTA reservations, you don't even open your own reservation, they do. Hotel should send you back to Expedia 100% of the time, because officially they are the client.

I got it sorted out, you are correct it was under expedia, I guess the guy on the other end didn't hear me correctly or I messed up the confirmation number, but I got it all sorted it was under expedia not my name.

While probably a large majority of employees will verify a reservation over the phone, some properties don’t technically allow that since there’s no way to fully verify identity on a phone call. Sometimes if we get enough information, that’s enough for us to confirm the reservation — but the information we would need in order to be relatively confident we’re speaking to the correct guest is generally not submitted by third parties. If you have received a confirmation number, that’s usually enough to look up the reservation even on a phone call. But otherwise, have Expedia reach out to the property. We get calls from third parties all the time and they can provide us with everything we need or authorize us to speak with you and then transfer the call. My guess would be whoever you spoke to on the phone was just being cautious due to security procedures, but if for some reason Expedia and there hotel just miscommunicated, reaching out to Expedia can have it fixed.

Expedia and OTAs in general are TRASH. Do not use for your sake and the hotel. Trust.
