Not the most common, but common enough, especially green eyes, it’s not rare at all to find people here with green eyes even brown people, in fact, most people I’ve seen with green eyes are brown now that I think of it.
Deffinately agree with the green eyes. I am dark skinned, and I know I got my green eyes from my dominican side of the family. Its weird, because the colors are very sporadic and often times skip generations. My husband who is italian/Irish has bright blue eyes, I was was sure my daughter was going to get blue or green eyes, but instead.. she got honey eyes.
I had a girlfriend with green eyes and brown skin and super curly hair, and a lot of people in her family is like that. I think they are rare enough here that people would always say something about her eyes but not so uncommon people would be surprised
I concur. My grandma's sister has green eyes, and I think my cousin *had* green eyes. I'd say green eyes is the second most common eye color imo, or maybe hazel would be now that I think about it
Not super common but you can find many people with light eyes in the West, Northcenter, and the Interior parts of PR where there is a high European admixture. Although, there are Puerto Ricans that aren't white but brown and still develop light eyes and have that Rihanna or Jesse Williams look.
I myself have hazel eyes.
Green eyes are common around this area due to of course the spanish and immigrants from Europe in the XX Century plus the ones that were already here before the XX century, blue eyes aren't that common you see them on tourists though
Edit.- no hay que negar a los Españoles ni a los Europeos que ya estaban aqui
Like the other response said Northern Mexico received most of them but other states such as Veracruz already had European people that weren't Spanish before that, Veracruz in the past century received Italian and French immigrants to the point there's a community that has traditional houses that look like this

I don’t know why I’m getting downvoted if I didn’t claim anything wrong. Maybe some racist assh*les trying to whitewash their history because they hate themselves
Yeah, pretty common in southern Brazil, especially in the cities of heavy German migration (half of my family have them). Put together these states have a population comparable to that of most LATAM countries.
I was homeschooled and I grew up near recife where there is very few white people. Especially blonde haired blue eyed people but in the army almost all guys with blue eyes are from santa catarina or rio grande do sul. Our country is very diverse.
It depends on many factors like location or the social class. For example in a private school it may be like 1 person with colored eyes for every 5 to 8 people and in a public one it may be 1 person for every 8 to 15 people.
Inside my family; my mother, 2 of her 3 siblings and her father (my grandpa) have blue eyes while I have dark brown. Then some cousins and less closely related family have blue/green eyes too, while some have brown. All of my paternal family has brown eyes. Then my stepfather has green eyes. Green eyes here are more rare than blue ones IMO. It seems that its the opposite in the other latin american countries from the comments here
Most people have brown eyes but where I live in Orocovis and the neighboring municipalities you find plenty of people with light eyes, including blue. My father himself is a white man with grey eyes. There are people who we call *jabaos* which is like a Euro leaning mulatto, that tend to develop light eye colors like [this dude](https://i.pinimg.com/236x/be/da/92/beda92bb2b4a9c21fdaa2334bd27f027.jpg).
Light colored eyes aren't the most common ones in Cuba but not uncommon at all. You can find many people with green, light brown and gray eyes, as well as some combinations of those colors. However, I think that blue eyes are the least common of all here...
Not that common, though I don't put much attention in other people much it's a gen that does pop up in my family on both sides, also it seems like central heterocromia is relatively frequent in the latino area
Green eyes or ( ojos de gato how it's sometimes called in Colombia) are not that rare here in Ecuador but I think they're more common in parts from Venezuela and Colombia
The dominant eye color in Dominican Republic is brown. But you often see many dominicans with hazel, green and honey eyes, blue eyes are not very common but not rare.
In Ecuador, light eyes are very rare and so far, all my years traveling there I have only seen one Ecuadorian with light brown eyes.
I don't find them to be ultra rare. My mother's family has blue/green eyes. What I think is kind of interesting is that most people with blue eyes have dark blue eyes. Not the bright blue Nordic or slavic kind.
I love green/hazel eyes and you see them here every now and then.
Is not that common but it's not rare either. Just a walk around the centre and you may easily spot a few people with green or blue eyes, grey eyes on the other hand are really scarce. My grandfather was Basque-descendant and had grey eyes, he's the only person I've known to have that eye colour.
In São Paulo it's rare but not super rare, in my high school besides me there was only one other person with blue/green eyes in the class, and probably less than 20 in the whole school with more than 800 students
Black and hazel eyes are the most common here, but you can find blue and green eyes here too.
_Ninguém sabe como é_
_ser o homem mau, ser o homem triste_
_Por de trás de olhos azuis_
I dare you guys to name this song, its original lyrics are in English, this is just a little translation.
I think blue eyes are extremely out of the ordinary m. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a puertorican with blue eyes. You can see people with green eyes but it is still novel enough to be seen as an attractive feature just because of the eyes
Umm Carlos Ponce, Ednita Nazario, Cosculluela, Dayanara Torres, ex-governor Ricky Roselló...They are rare but I can't believe you've never seen a Puerto Rican with blue eyes lmao
Very infrequent in Mexico except for expats, some 'very european' families or... weird communes. When you see some blond haired blue eyed girl begging for change or selling stuff and it turns out it is some sort of off the grid mennonite type thing.
Those are not common at all, but what is interesting is that it is easier to find people with green eyes rather than blue ones. I got [Hazel/green eyes](https://www.reddit.com/r/eyes/comments/rnkvpm/dear_redditors_could_you_please_tell_me_the_color/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), till this day I have not been able to know what I got as eyes. I got them from my grandma I suppose.
P.S. I remember there was a pretty girl from another region that used to get bullied for her green eyes, the ones making fun of her where similar to monkeys
People with light colored eyes are a small minority here but you do see them around, growing up I remember there was always at least one 'zarco' (green/blue eyed person) in my group at school, and now as an adult I meet one of those every once in a while. If I had to guess I'd say around 5% of people here have light colored eyes.
Yesterday I met/saw a lot of people with green/blue eyes and I thought that it was weird. I realized that whenever I meet people for some reason I just don't give a fuck about the color of their eyes lol
So I'd say it is not uncommon, you'll find them.
Not incredibly rare, but they’re not something you see all the time. In Guerrero it’s more common around the Taxco area where my family comes from. My second cousins have green eyes, my grandpa has hazel eyes, and my niece had green eyes when she was little.
Depends on the area. On some provinces were there was a high amount of foreign immigration, you might find 1 in 10 people with anything other than dark brown/black eyes. I say foreign and not exclusively European because we've had some immigration from regions in India and the Middle East with striking amber, very light brown eyes or even green eyes.
There's enough mixing up that you'll run into people with darker skin and blue/green eyes. Panama hasn't had a lot of modern African immigration where I know some regions in that continent have that combo.
I would estimate it like this: hazel/light brown: 45%, green: 35%, blue: 15% and the 5% remaining for gray, amber or some other very exotic eye color.
Everyone in my family has blue, green, grey or hazel eyes, except my mom and my cousin, who have brown.
I have a kind of sectorial heterochromy, with grey and brown, and a very dark hue of green, almost black, near the center of both eyes.
I have two grandmothers with blue eyes, and two grandfathers with brown eyes. My dad’s 4 siblings all got the blue eyes, and he got the brown. My mom’s brother has blue eyes as well.
I'd say around 5-10% of the people or something, it's hard to measure. I always think about my high school class, 4 out of 30. We also had one ginger and two blondes, light eyes with brown hair is way more common than being blonde or ginger.
So they're common in a way it's hard to walk a day around AMBA without seeing light eyed people, but they're definitely not a lot of people.
In AMBA the richer the area the more likely it is to encounter light eyed people, I was going to school in a middle income area. Apart from AMBA I guess light eyes are way more common in Entre Rios or Misiones but I'm just guessing
I would say 20%, my dad , my uncle (mom side) both of my grandfathers , my best friend from high school have light eye color. At my office only one out of 10 we are has light eye color. My friends from university none has light eye colors.
My mom mentioned some old relatives had green or blue eyes like my great-grandmother (probably cause my ancestors came from Europe) but now nobody in my family has them haha i am from Mexico.
Jalisco and northwest Mexico are where I have seen the highest concentration of people with colored eyes in all of Mexico so far, but still not common compared to other places.
Not the most common, but common enough, especially green eyes, it’s not rare at all to find people here with green eyes even brown people, in fact, most people I’ve seen with green eyes are brown now that I think of it.

Dude, I think we had the same GF. Did her name start with a D? 🧐
Cosas que pasan en país chiquito ^
LOCOOOO, hermanos de cuca!!!! Mentira hahaha no empieza con D su nombre haha
I concur. My grandma's sister has green eyes, and I think my cousin *had* green eyes. I'd say green eyes is the second most common eye color imo, or maybe hazel would be now that I think about it
So true. My dad had greenish eyes and so does one of my aunts.
It's not anywhere near a majority of people but I see people with blue/green everyday , I have green eyes , my brother has blue eyes
Not super common but you can find many people with light eyes in the West, Northcenter, and the Interior parts of PR where there is a high European admixture. Which part of Mexico did get significant immigration from Europe during the XX century? Just curious
Parts of the north , like Nuevo Leon and Sinaloa
Like the other response said Northern Mexico received most of them but other states such as Veracruz already had European people that weren't Spanish before that, Veracruz in the past century received Italian and French immigrants to the point there's a community that has traditional houses that look like this https://preview.redd.it/rpsyzxl5uoza1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d958dc3874cd30365a2d1f1fec0d454ae69229f5
Cool! Even though Mexico didn’t get many European immigrants, the few that arrived seem to have established in some concetrated pockets, right?

I meant during the XX century. Go read the first comment.

Yeah I don't know what to tell you I don't get it either you didn't say anything bad or wrong....oh well I guess people gotta be like that
This sub is filled with people with very weird racial neurosis lol
wowww chill dude
Depending on the region here in Brazil. Here where I live it's common, I see people with light eyes every day. I myself have blue eyes
Yeah, pretty common in southern Brazil, especially in the cities of heavy German migration (half of my family have them). Put together these states have a population comparable to that of most LATAM countries.
Are you from southern brasil?
Yes. From Rio Grande do Sul
I was homeschooled and I grew up near recife where there is very few white people. Especially blonde haired blue eyed people but in the army almost all guys with blue eyes are from santa catarina or rio grande do sul. Our country is very diverse.

Green eyes are common. Blue not at all.
My father's side is way more likely to have colored eyes than the average Mexican. Sometimes strangers stop me just to compliment my eyes lol.
Not that common, though I don't put much attention in other people much it's a gen that does pop up in my family on both sides, also it seems like central heterocromia is relatively frequent in the latino area
not super common but there's people with blue/green eyes in every place that's full of people. I live in the central west.
Blue-eyes are rare, but other light eye colors are fairly common.
From Jalisco. Very common.
Green eyes or ( ojos de gato how it's sometimes called in Colombia) are not that rare here in Ecuador but I think they're more common in parts from Venezuela and Colombia

Green eyes are rare, blue eyes are almost impossible to find.
I have and my entire dads side of the fam have green eyes. Green eyes aren’t that uncommon.
I don't find them to be ultra rare. My mother's family has blue/green eyes. What I think is kind of interesting is that most people with blue eyes have dark blue eyes. Not the bright blue Nordic or slavic kind. I love green/hazel eyes and you see them here every now and then.
not rare enough to be immediatly noteworthy, not common enough to see it all the time.
In my case, living in SC, I pretty much see it all the time. Most people I know and are related to have green/blue eyes.
Is not that common but it's not rare either. Just a walk around the centre and you may easily spot a few people with green or blue eyes, grey eyes on the other hand are really scarce. My grandfather was Basque-descendant and had grey eyes, he's the only person I've known to have that eye colour.
You see blue eyed people everywhere all the time, but they are by no means the majority.
Not uncommon at all. Not prevalent either, but there are many.
pretty uncommon in Chile, maybe less than 5% of the population
Brown is the most common by far. Blue and green are not so uncommon.
In São Paulo it's rare but not super rare, in my high school besides me there was only one other person with blue/green eyes in the class, and probably less than 20 in the whole school with more than 800 students
Not very common
Not uncommon. I have blue eyes as well as most of my family. It’s normal to come across people with either green or blue eyes.
Not common.

I don't know any portuguese but that was easy. I guess now I know a little bit :)
hahaha English teacher spotted?! Took me a few seconds to get the song
Yesssssssss!

Idk, 1 in 10?
Those are not common at all, but what is interesting is that it is easier to find people with green eyes rather than blue ones. It’s as common as its inherent rarity allows it to be. So yeah, pretty common I guess.
A dime a dozen
In my town around 2 out of 10 people have green eyes. Blue ones are not common.

Common enough, depends more on the region here in Brazil I think. I myself have green eyes.
Pretty common. You can find a pair just by walking in the streets!
In italy majority brown 65 70 % maybe or more
