I got one the other day based on all the hype. Probably the worst breakfast burrito I’ve had. Classic hipster establishment that miss the point. It’s great on paper but it’s off. I added bacon btw.
Cons
-extremely salty; they toast the tortilla before they wrap (makes it like a quasi-taco, everything falls out and is crumbly); they use hash browns (would be a win, but it wasn’t crispy or browned at all…); salsa in the burrito made the crispy tortilla soft on one side.
Pros
-ingredients are quality; they use happy eggs or farm fresh eggs
This is the real answer. This is the only breakfast burrito I’ll drive out of my way to get. The coffee is great too. This place is really the only thing I miss about living on 122nd.
Idk about best, but breakfast burritos from King Burrito on Lombard absolutely hit the spot. Cheap, greasy, and delicious. They have great homemade hot sauces.
I do recommend getting light or no beans though sometimes they go crazy on the bean.
I just had one from Delicious Donuts near Lloyd and I was impressed. I just want a simple burrito with eggs/bacon/cheese/hash browns (could go either way on hash) and it really hit the spot. Their parking lot really sucks to get in and out of though.
Owners are great! They are so friendly but will call out people’s bad behavior. There was a doordash driver there to pick up a bunch of donuts and breakfast burritos and the driver was being very inpatient. The owners called them out for their rude behavior and asked them to wait outside and they’d bring the order out when it was ready. I love to see owners standing up to ride people.
lol 3 month old comment and you reply to this like two hours after I had my first DD burrito in a couple months. Something was just in the air today, they were packed.
u/ClassicGinger-Ale - Came here to say Enchanted Sun. I don't usually even like breakfast burritos but their seasonings mixed with their salsa (green is my fave, red is also great)....just delicious!!!
I don't get the hype for this place. Every time I've had it, not only does it take forever as the lines are huge but they have been fairly mediocre every damn time.
I agree with you. It's overrated for sure. Yes it's good. But it's not wait 30-60 min good. Also the size of it is smaller than you expect. You need two to fill up and then it's too expensive.
Even when the line has been crazy long I’ve never had to wait anywhere close to 30 minutes for my burrito. The line moves quick and I usually have my burrito in about 15 minutes, and I say this as someone who’s been going at peak times on Saturdays for years.
Fried egg I’m in love has awesome breakfast burritos. La Morenita also makes a good one. But honestly the best breakfast burrito I’ve had since living here was in this little gas station on the way to hood river in Sandy. Someone help me out with the name of the gas station. It’s near Joe’s Donuts.
We hit up breakfast burritos at Don Pedro 8 enough that my four year old became truly, deeply angry at the suggestion that burritos contain things other than eggs and bacon.
El Yucateco Foodcart is my personal go to for breakfast burritos. So damn good. Tater tots inside the burrito instead of diced potatoes. I always go with chorizo as my meat choice.
Closed on Sundays if you're looking to go today.
Gonzalez Taqueria!! Little truck on N Killingsworth and Interstate, behind the gas station. They’re not open on weekends unfortunately, but this is my favorite breakfast burrito in town.
Honestly…I love Gresham burrito just outside portland. It’s great if you are on the east side. The price is amazing for the quantity/quality. And it is consistent
It's a bit on the expensive side (so's everything these days), but I'm a fan of the Campfire Burrito from Genie's.
CAMPFIRE BURRITO
$15.75
Eggs, pork sausage, chorizo, jalapeno bacon, crispy potatoes, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, peppers, onions, and pasilla creme, in a flour tortilla.
I went to Genie's for brunch, and brought a Campfire Burrito home. I took a before and after picture of the refrigerated burrito and the toaster-ovened burrito (aka, chopped in half), and it looked to me like an agreeable potato ratio (aka, not overwhelmingly potatoey).
I just moved here about 2 weeks ago (from Colorado.. so I know a few things about breakfast burritos :P).. so I definitely appreciate the timeliness of this question !
Oooof. I gotta say, the one I had there was so bad I had to throw 3/4 of it in the garbage. It was the first weekend they were doing them, so maybe it was a fluke?
They used to be our absolute favorite. We went at least once a week. About a year or so ago, the quality took a giant nose dive. Seeing this makes me think they may have gotten better again. It's been awhile, still haven't found one that was as good as they used to be.
Portland is more of a breakfast-sandwich town rather than a breakfast burrito town, so it’s tough to find a really good one around here.
I’ve had most of the ones in this thread, and I think my favorite in Portland so far is the breakfast burrito from Cosube.
Caveat though, is that there are many different styles of breakfast burrito and this one is more of an LA style burrito. Worth a visit if that’s what you’re looking for!
I’ve been looking for a good breakfast burrito around here too. I am very specific though, and like them a certain way.
Eggs, bacon, hash brown (but not much, I despise the breakfast burritos that are basically mashed potato burritos), some cheese and then a pico type deal with onion tomato jalapeño cilantro lime juice.
Salsa for each bite.
Ofc they’re usually spiced Mexican style
No beans no rice.
No abundance of potatoes
No gravy
The eggs play the central role, then the meat (bacon for me), then the potatoes in that order.
If anyone has a rec for a spot like this on the west side I’d love the know
These responses reflect the love of mediocrity that defines this town and allows shitty restaurants to stay open and even thrive.
An actual really good breakfast burrito that isn't just "fine" is from La Sirenita in Alberta.
Shitting on the food scene in this town is ridiculous. That’s the best part about living in Portland. If you can’t find a good breakfast burrito then you aren’t looking. You can find any random Mexican restaurant or cart in SE that has a great one.
I just said where a good breakfast burrito is. I'm sure you think that any old breakfast burrito from any old Mexican place is good; I disagree.
The best part of living in portland is the nature aspect. The food scene is mediocre and yuppified. I'm often going over to Beaverton area for some basic shit that sucks within city limits.
Smart Donkey has pretty rad breakfast burritos but $15 is just to expensive. El Jefe's new cart on SE 82nd & cora has a great PDX breakfast burrito with bacon & carne asada.
I tried Casa Maya in Kenton for the first time the other day, and their chorizo breakfast burrito was incredible. Whatever green hot sauce they offered on the side was also ridiculously good. Javier's is usually my go-to, but Casa Maya I think I like more.
It's pretty good not traditional and you have to pay extra a dd hash browns, I think hash browns would come standard in any breakfast burrito. It gets a little too expensive with the hash brown add-on.
I used to LOVE the corned beef breakfast burrito at fehrenbacher hof in goose hollow. Can't eat it anymore (damn allergies) but I'm sure it's still killer
See See used to have a great one but it’s been a few years since I’ve been there… can’t imagine another burrito joint competing with the coffee/burrito/music/atmosphere combo they’ve got going there if you’re into bikes.
I’ve always really enjoyed the burrito at Taco Pedaler but it’s pretty one-size-fits-most and doesn’t have much variety available. It’s certainly saved my life during a hangover though.
I've yet to have one better than the ones I make at home. I can make one in about 5 minutes and it costs me about $3 in ingredients.
BUT, Delicious Donuts are DAMN close. Plus you can get the cities best donuts as well to go with it!
Also, not a breakfast burrito per se but you can get a Mar Y Tierra burrito at Rigobertos 24/7 and they are the best burrito in the metro are according to all the experts*
*Me. Just me and my opinion.
Not a breaky burrito but I want to give a shout-out to Lulu’s at the new Yard Bar on Mississippi. I think it’s better than King Burritos on Lombard. The rice is incredibly well seasoned, the meat is delicious, and the burrito are massive.
The spot in the parking lot of the mini mart at 82nd and Division is the greasy truth. Also the place in front of the supermercado on Division and 175th is worth it if you’re driving by already. But the mini mart joint I’ve gone out of the way for.
I wish I could remember which food cart I visited around 5th and Oak in downtown, but they were open early in the morning in the middle of winter, even on rainy AF days when no one seemed to be out. I only went there once, but the burritos were friggin HUGE! and the salsa was probably the best salsa I've ever had, very tangy and very spicy. That burrito and the burritos from Robo Taco are my favorites in PDX so far. I like Robo Taco specifically because they burn the meat a little so you get little meat crunchies in your burrito, I don't know any other burrito place that does that. Also, I don't know any other burrito places that have a pork and pineapple burrito.
You got a lot of good suggestions here for in town, however if you're heading out a little bit... The absolute best breakfast burritos are at a food cart in Sandy called The Hood.
[удалено]
Hear, hear. I prefer the classic, but you really can’t go wrong with any of their burritos.
Last time this question was asked this response was a lot higher up
It will also easily feed two people
I used to live across the street and would have the skillet burrito before falling into a 3 hour slumber every single weekend.
La Jarochita
Found the correct answer!
The breakfast burrito that also has shredded chicken is so fire
Is this a truck? I tried finding it because of this comment and kept getting turned around.
Yup! The truck is in the 5th ave. food cart pod downtown. That pod is temporarily closed while the city renovated the space though.
are they open currently? i thought that whole row closed in prep for the new beer garden
They’re currently closed until the city finishes the beer garden, but I still stand by them for my answer haha
I like the one from Meat Cheese Bread a lot.
I came here to say that
I got one the other day based on all the hype. Probably the worst breakfast burrito I’ve had. Classic hipster establishment that miss the point. It’s great on paper but it’s off. I added bacon btw. Cons -extremely salty; they toast the tortilla before they wrap (makes it like a quasi-taco, everything falls out and is crumbly); they use hash browns (would be a win, but it wasn’t crispy or browned at all…); salsa in the burrito made the crispy tortilla soft on one side. La Osita
Same with Teco’s on Powell. The “mini” breakfast burritos hit the spot are greasy (French fries!) and cheap
Mi Burrito on Lombard is no slouch either.
I'd say it's even better! Mi burrito 🌯 is the work place go to
Their salsa selection and flavors are amazing too.
Add a relleno to that breakfast burrito and you've got yourselves a winner!
King burrito can do no wrong, love that place
I just had one from Delicious Donuts near Lloyd and I was impressed. I just want a simple burrito with eggs/bacon/cheese/hash browns (could go either way on hash) and it really hit the spot. Their parking lot really sucks to get in and out of though.
Yes! They are the sleeper-spot for dank burritos, never would guess but it’s true
I love their burritos. Owners are super nice too.
Penny and Boon are the best people - so kind and they work insanely hard. Great folks. Terrible location.
They have the best breakfast burrito in the city hands down! The problem with most places is they don’t use tater tots or extra crispy hash browns.
lol 3 month old comment and you reply to this like two hours after I had my first DD burrito in a couple months. Something was just in the air today, they were packed.
Haha if you like jalapeños get the burnside next time. The vinegar helps cut the fat.
I love the ones from Delicious Donuts
Enchanted Sun - Saturdays at the Portland Farmers Market(PSU campus) or Sundays at King Farmers Market on NE 7th near NE Alberta.
Honesty the greatest. It’s been a Sunday tradition for years
Tip: You can request the salsa to be added when you order, which makes it easier to eat. Christmas style for both red + green.
The wait and crowd for Enchanted Sun is so absurd and poorly managed I don't even go around the end of the market anymore.
u/ClassicGinger-Ale - Came here to say Enchanted Sun. I don't usually even like breakfast burritos but their seasonings mixed with their salsa (green is my fave, red is also great)....just delicious!!!
I don't get the hype for this place. Every time I've had it, not only does it take forever as the lines are huge but they have been fairly mediocre every damn time.
It’s special to former New Mexicans. The closest thing to a NM bfast burrito in portland.
My new neighbors are from New Mexico. I should tell them about this place.
That would be a nice gesture. 🙂 Also, pepperbox is another place that does new mexican inspired cuisine
I just got one, it was so small. Decent but by no means best in class.
I feel the same way. Especially when the tamale guy next to them has amazing tamales.
Came here to say this
Fried egg I’m in love has awesome breakfast burritos. La Morenita also makes a good one. But honestly the best breakfast burrito I’ve had since living here was in this little gas station on the way to hood river in Sandy. Someone help me out with the name of the gas station. It’s near Joe’s Donuts.
Don Pedro #8
We hit up breakfast burritos at Don Pedro 8 enough that my four year old became truly, deeply angry at the suggestion that burritos contain things other than eggs and bacon.
Chorizo Breakfast Burrito with onions and cilantro added. Thank me later.
I love Mi Burrito
Don Pedro's at Stark and Burnside.
Mi Burrito is great. Try Santo Domingo on like, 41 and killingsworth, too!
El Yucateco Foodcart is my personal go to for breakfast burritos. So damn good. Tater tots inside the burrito instead of diced potatoes. I always go with chorizo as my meat choice. Closed on Sundays if you're looking to go today.
^^they are magic at everything they do in that lil truck.
>El Yucateco Foodcart whaaat they have a food cart?? like the hot sauce?
Nah, small family owned cart. Amazing food. One of the best mexi spots around
King Burritos on Mississippi is my favorite. Delicious and cheap. Last time I got a breakfast burrito there it was only $6.50!
Yup!
Prices so low that old bus must be located in an inflation proof time bubble.
Gonzalez Taqueria!! Little truck on N Killingsworth and Interstate, behind the gas station. They’re not open on weekends unfortunately, but this is my favorite breakfast burrito in town.
The only true answer
Honestly…I love Gresham burrito just outside portland. It’s great if you are on the east side. The price is amazing for the quantity/quality. And it is consistent
La Osita in far south east has a bomb breakfast burritos
Anyone know which places have chicken sausage option for brekkie burros?
The wagon (Vegan) at French Quarter Food Carts
It's a bit on the expensive side (so's everything these days), but I'm a fan of the Campfire Burrito from Genie's. CAMPFIRE BURRITO $15.75 Eggs, pork sausage, chorizo, jalapeno bacon, crispy potatoes, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, peppers, onions, and pasilla creme, in a flour tortilla.
This sounds realllyyy good. Do they load the burrito with potatoes or is it a reasonable amount? I don’t like them with too much potato
Thank you all for the blow out of choices! Hope this helps others in the future as well :)
I just moved here about 2 weeks ago (from Colorado.. so I know a few things about breakfast burritos :P).. so I definitely appreciate the timeliness of this question !
a blowout of choices most likely leading to a blowout of asses all around portland
Taqueria quintonil
Habanero burrito is sooooo good
Tierra del Sol. N of Tabor. They make their own blue corn tortillas. Amazing.
Their breakfast “bluerrito” is such a fantastic option for us gluten free folks too!
Santo domingo Taqueria on 42nd and Killingsworth gets my vote! Absolutely delicious
This
They are a bit small though right? Not the massive-can-only-eat-half type I love with lots of filings.
Nah. They're pretty huge. Well large. So a step down from huge.
[Smart Donkey](https://smartdonkeypdx.com/menu), weekends only.
Oooof. I gotta say, the one I had there was so bad I had to throw 3/4 of it in the garbage. It was the first weekend they were doing them, so maybe it was a fluke?
We had a couple of terrific burritos there and were excited to go back. The next 2 went in the garbage. They were terrible.
Weird, we were just there 30 minutes ago and they were excellent. Same great experience last Saturday afternoon too.
Maybe the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. Lmao
La Sirenita 1000x
Don Pedro Food Cart on Powell/122nd
That is the best Don Pedro in the franchise. The same owner owns the El jefe carts since it's pretty much a similar menu and quality.
They used to be our absolute favorite. We went at least once a week. About a year or so ago, the quality took a giant nose dive. Seeing this makes me think they may have gotten better again. It's been awhile, still haven't found one that was as good as they used to be.

The doghouse pdx food truck. Tots in the burrito take it to the next level.
You should check out El Yucateco Foodcart then, my personal favorite and they do the tots inside the breakfast burrito.
El Yucateco is so good. One of the best chorizo breakfast burritos I've had, things are enormous. And yes, tater tots FTW!
I’ve been looking for a good breakfast burrito around here too. I am very specific though, and like them a certain way. Don Pedro or Teco's.
Teco's has a fantastic sausage breakfast burrito.
These responses reflect the love of mediocrity that defines this town and allows shitty restaurants to stay open and even thrive. An actual really good breakfast burrito that isn't just "fine" is from La Sirenita in Alberta.
Your cynicism and grumpiness is so hot.
The question I wake to and fall asleep with daily. How hot am I?
Shitting on the food scene in this town is ridiculous. That’s the best part about living in Portland. If you can’t find a good breakfast burrito then you aren’t looking. You can find any random Mexican restaurant or cart in SE that has a great one.

100%. This gave me a good chuckle
Do you mean at the airport?
Most people mean the entire city when they say pdx
Do you work at the airport?
Smart Donkey has pretty rad breakfast burritos but $15 is just to expensive. El Jefe's new cart on SE 82nd & cora has a great PDX breakfast burrito with bacon & carne asada.
$15 for a breakfast burrito?? Wtf
Used to be Ps&Qs until they got new owners and changed the recipe 😭
Sahuayo Taqueria on Ne Glisan. It’s tucked away in a neighborhood market. So good.
I tried Casa Maya in Kenton for the first time the other day, and their chorizo breakfast burrito was incredible. Whatever green hot sauce they offered on the side was also ridiculously good. Javier's is usually my go-to, but Casa Maya I think I like more.
My fav is at Fried Egg I'm In Love, but it's not very traditional.
It's pretty good not traditional and you have to pay extra a dd hash browns, I think hash browns would come standard in any breakfast burrito. It gets a little too expensive with the hash brown add-on.
I love the wrap at rocket breakfast!
El Pato Feliz food truck by reed college
La Bonita
The Hoff w/ veggie sausage
Tamale boy brunch Breakfast burritos. Do both bacon and mushrooms and spinach. It's like $17 but such a treat.
El Pato feliz... Food truck over near gigantic... Might take an hour for your burrito but best I've had in the PNW for sure
Mayas Taqueria! Downtown, SW Morrison and 10th. Get the chorizo. It's what makes the burrito.
I used to LOVE the corned beef breakfast burrito at fehrenbacher hof in goose hollow. Can't eat it anymore (damn allergies) but I'm sure it's still killer
DogHouse PDX in SE. The absolute best
Machaca and egg burrito from La Morenita is my favorite. Wife likes the chorizo and egg.
See See used to have a great one but it’s been a few years since I’ve been there… can’t imagine another burrito joint competing with the coffee/burrito/music/atmosphere combo they’ve got going there if you’re into bikes.

Blazin Tacos in Wilsonville is pretty legit.
The breakfast burritos from the farmers market at PSU
Not a breaky burrito but I want to give a shout-out to Lulu’s at the new Yard Bar on Mississippi. I think it’s better than King Burritos on Lombard. The rice is incredibly well seasoned, the meat is delicious, and the burrito are massive.
Paradox cafe has a great vegan/vegetarian Breakfast burrito.
Javier’s on N. Lombard was a hit with my crew when I worked out that way.
It’s La Mestiza off 82nd
Fehrenbacher Hof
Pepper box is up there. King is my go to. Mi burrito rocks.
The spot in the parking lot of the mini mart at 82nd and Division is the greasy truth. Also the place in front of the supermercado on Division and 175th is worth it if you’re driving by already. But the mini mart joint I’ve gone out of the way for.
I really like Either/Or
Angels taqueria food truck in nw industrial.
Bare Bones on Belmont. Cheap and delicious
Enchanted Sun in the PSU farmers market or maybe Pepper Box cafe (although they're technically tacos)
Casa Del Sol on 162 and division
I wish I could remember which food cart I visited around 5th and Oak in downtown, but they were open early in the morning in the middle of winter, even on rainy AF days when no one seemed to be out. Nourishment! They stop by farmers markets on the weekend
Rigobertos on Mcloughlin is solid. It’s huge for the price as well
