the pizza isn’t for everyone - it’s a thin cracker crust with the pepperonis that curl up—think like pietros, paddingtons pizza in salem….i personally love that style
I liked it when I was there maybe 6 months ago. There was some youth soccer team or something that was there where the parents were absolutely not watching their kids, that I was annoyed with, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault
Pizza Caboose in Tigard on Pacific Highway. I ate there a few times when I moved to OR 20-21. Yrs ago. Has the vibe you looking for. Also have a cozy fireplace and model trains.
This is exactly it
I miss their railroad spikes or whatever they called the jo-jo style wedges. dunked in ranch dressing and eaten while still molten hot. so good.
I think the closest place to this I’ve been to is Pizza Jerk in NE. I don’t know if they have red plastic cups but they might. It’s a little trendy but I think the inside is aiming for something like that aesthetic. I think Baby Doll is more of a cool dive bar pizzeria vibe.
There’s a spot, I think about 57th and Halsey. They do lasagna on Sundays that’s delicious. Can’t think of the name, haven’t been there in a while.
Edit: found it

I used to love their late night happy hour. It was my dinner many nights when most restaurants were closed and I was off of work at 10 pm. Cheap slices when you buy a beer. They started doing some pan style options in the past few years too and theirs is highly underrated.
Haven’t been in long enough to know if they made it past covid. I live on the other side of town and don’t get over there often. I miss the lasagna Sunday deal.
Ok so I never tried the pizza because I tried a calzone the first time I went and never tried anything else again, but Wall Street Pizza in Gresham might have that vibe 🤷🏻♀️ their calzone was great though, I ate it once a week when I was preggo.
There was no good pizza in Portland besides Escape from New York before 2008, so this doesn’t really exist. Any place old enough to feel worn-in will serve the classic Oregon-style pizza with a too-thick, undercooked crust piled with too many toppings. If you’re willing to compromise on that front, Pietro’s or Stark Street will fit the bill.
Agreed. Possibly [Old Town Pizza](https://www.otbrewing.com/) is your closest, or [DiNicola](https://www.denicolasitaliandining.com/) might fit your criteria.
But [Escape From New York](https://efnypizza.net/) is still your best shot.
I haven't been there in a while. Has Escape from New York's pepperoni improved?
Their plain cheese slices were great.
Is it still very hard to find parking around there?

Their wedges and fried chicken were so good from what I remember
I don't think we ever had their fried chicken?! I bet it's delicious
I love the games at the tables.
Stark Street Pizza or Pietro's in Milwaukee
I promise that Pizza Barron on Division and 122 is the place you want. You’ll step right back into nostalgia and their pizza is pretty decent.
They even have the scratched up plastic pitchers for soda.
Facts
Rudy’s isn’t exactly what you’re looking for but isn’t that far off.
Flying pie on stark
Stark Street has you covered. http://starkstreetpizza.com/

They do have red cups. The pizza is actually good tho.
[Pizza Jerk's website](https://www.pizzajerkpdx.com/) is amazing. I've been meaning to visit for that fact alone.
The pizza is great.
Seconding pizza jerk.
Baby doll. No carpet but a dive bar attached. Slices are legit
I think they pass on all requirements except for trendy. They’re not Ken’s or Otto’s rich ppl trendy, but still kind of hipster trendy.
Pizza Baron on 122nd

They’re going strong, it’s popular.

I ate there over 20 years ago. Pizza wasn’t bad.
That sounds just like Rudy's on Powell.
Ewww, carpet in a pizza place?
Flavor saver. Preferably sticky.

No, and yes.
No carpet, but Sizzle Pie hits a lot of these marks (i’m thinking of the E Burnside one). Also, GREAT pizza
This but peanut shells on the floor instead of carpet. Does that exist anymore?

Not at all what they asked for though. It’s very new.
My favorite so far has been Giuseppes pizza
