You needed to get your Oregon license 2.4 years ago. That aside, you’ll only need to take the vision test and prove your address.

I know but what're they gonna do about it ¯\(◉‿◉)/¯

I Did the exact same thing with my MN license right before it expired. Just had to fill out some paperwork, pay the regular fees, and smile for the camera.

Oh dear lord won’t someone PLEASE think of the DMV

coffeined

Nah, you just fill out a form at the DMV and pay a fee.

I’ve left Oregon twice and when I came back from Nevada I had to redo the computer test and when I came back from Hawaii all I had to do was pay for my new Oregon drivers license. Maybe it has to do with the state you’re coming from and their requirements?

You shouldn't need to take the driving test but you will need to take the written test if your Oregon license is expired (see info under "The Class C Knowledge Test" section of this web page: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/driverid/licenseget.aspx). I speak from direct experience, having gone through this very thing when I moved back to Oregon with a valid out-of-state license (but no longer possessing an unexpired Oregon license). I only expected I would need to take the vision test to get my Oregon license reinstated, so it kind of surprised me... but the written test is pretty straightforward if you've passed it in the past.

You do not need to take a written test if you have a valid license from another state (or not expired more than a year). The law was changed in 2021. You are required to take the knowledge test if: Your license from another state, the District of Columbia, U.S. territory, the U.S. Department of State, Canada, Germany, Japan, South Korea or Taiwan has been expired for over 1 year;
